My router restarts only with my macbook

Hello there,
I am having trouble with my macbook restarting my router each time I want to use the internet.
but when using my android tab or Windows desktop, it's don't have the issue...
Any having the issue?
The problem only occurred recently, which had never done it before BT updated the firmware on the router.
My router is a BT hub 3
I am thinking BT had gone either anti Apple or sort lol.

Firmware is always an iffy thing, and should only be upgraded when you verify it works with all the systems in question. Once upgraded it is difficult to near impossible to downgrade. I would contact BT and let them know of your issue.

Hello, I have a macbook and am going to purchase a wireless router. I've been looking at the belkin pre-n router and have read some great reviews, but none used a mac to test the router. So does anyone have experience with this router and if so, would you recommend it? (or does anyone recommend a different router?) Thanks.

Using a MacBook you would not gain any of the alleged benefits of using a pre-n router.
Performance wise, a MacBook would work just as well with any wifi certified 802.11g wireless router.

External VGA monitors are not working only with my Macbook Pro 2012mid version

Hi all,
I have a macbook pro 13' 2012mid version, running the latest version of Mavericks, 10.9.2. If I connect my macbook to any extrernal VGA monitor (I have tried 4 different monitors), then the external display is detected in system preferences, but the monitor is showing only black screen (no signal). I am 100% sure, that my minidisplay port, the cable and the monitors are working properly, cause if I boot the same macbook from bootcamp win7 partition, then external monitors are working well.
I have also tried the same miniDP VGA with an older macbook pro (I think it is a model from year 2011, but also running Mavericks 10.9.2) on the same displays and the monitors are working fine. So the problem must be with in my OS X.
A have also tried some things, that I found on the net, like booting with the plugged in monitors in safe mode, reseting pram, I tried different settings for the external monitor in the system preferences (resolution, refresh rate...) but nothing helped. External monitor stayed recognized in system preferences, but with black screen and no signal.

If you used Boot Camp Assistant to create a partition to install Windows to you need a REAL Windows 7 or 8 install media and license key and you have to actually install Windows on your Mac. Boot camp is only for creating a partition to install Windows and starting the Windows install from REAL Windows install media.
That Windows install media has to be a DVD disc, if your Mac has a built in DVD drive (Apple does not allow Windows to be install any other way on Mac computers that originally come with a built in DVD drive), or from a USB stick with the actual Windows install files on it (Not an ISO of the Windows install files).
So the question is did you install Windows on your Mac? It doesn't look like it from the Option key boot and the list of available Boot Devices you posted.

You can't get much more direct than using the computer itself.
Your MBP can mirror its display to your ACD and use front row. While this isn't quite as convenient as the tv it is not far from the same.
Why would you send a picture from your MBP to an tv only to have it sent back again. The tv (I don't think) would be anywhere near powerful enough to power a 30" ACD.

IPod restart only with "menù+select"

Hi all,
I received my new iPod 5G like a gift 10 days ago. After 5 days of perfect working, suddendly it won't wake up anymore. After reading help section on Apple web site I can turn it on only pressing "menù and select" buttons together for 10 seconds. I restored the software but the problem still exist. Can I send to repair without the invoice?(not given, because it was a gift).

Linksys WRT54G router--Why doesn't it work with my Macbook?

I have a perfectly functional Apple MacBook (Unibody, late 2008) running Leopard 10.5.6. I have used it to connect to public Wi-Fi but it is unable to connect to my home Linksys WRT54G router. I called Apple Tech Support, and they suggested that I change the wireless channel and/or temporarily remove the WPA encryption. I did both, the computer still could not connect. In System Preferences on the MacBook, it tells me that "AirPort does not have an IP address and cannot connect to the internet." The tech support guy tried to help, but in the end basically told me that the router just plain might not be compatible with Apple products. (My iPod Touch cannot connect either.)
I can buy a new router, but this one works perfectly for the rest of the computers in the house (PCs) and they're expensive--and there's no guarantee that those will work either.
So: Does anyone know any solutions short of buying a new router that would make my Linksys compatible with my Macbook AND our home PCs? Or, failing that, a good, WPA-encrypted router that WILL work with both?
I have a Snow Leopard disk (I just received the computer on Thursday). Would upgrading to Snow Leopard be of any help? I'm planning on doing it anyway one of these days.

You are in the wrong forum but I'll try and help anyway. That model of Linksys router has a long history of not getting along with Apple products. That is not to say it will never work, but it does require that you download and install the latest firmware for the exact model of router that you have. There are multiple sub-models of that router so make sure that you get the right one.
Once you have done the firmware update, restart your router and try it again. WPA-psk should work but for troubleshooting purposes, turn off encryption and see if you can get your MacBook and touch working. You might want to use WPA2-psk instead of WPA.
I would hold off on Snow Leopard until you get WiFi working. Nothing like changing to too many things at one time to really mess things up.

My Macbook Pro keeps restarting itself with a Panic message each time!

I have had a few problems with my Macbook since I have bought it, namely the replacing of the hard drive twice. I am completely useless when it comes to tech, so my question may have already been answered but I might of just not understood the answers provided!
Was just on my Macbook and it decided to completely freeze, the Skype call I was in went silent and whilst I was still able to move the cursor, everything else was utterly frozen, so after a while I decided to just press the switch and try to restart it ! However, when I typed my password it, a black progress bar began to fill and at about 1/5th full, a bunch of lines with black backgrounds came up, and the computer shut itself back down to restart! The message says;

See Mac OS X- How to log a kernel panic. Post the entire log (not all of them, only the most current one) in your next reply. This assumes you can startup the computer. If you cannot startup the computer, then you will need to do this instead:

Boot to the Recovery HD: Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the COMMAND and R keys until the menu screen appears. Alternatively, restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the OPTION key until the boot manager screen appears. Select the Recovery HD and click on the downward pointing arrow button.
Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions: Upon startup select Disk Utility from the main menu. Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions as follows.
When the recovery menu appears select Disk Utility and press the Continue button. After Disk Utility loads select the Macintosh HD entry from the the left side list. Click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If Disk Utility reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported click on the Repair Permissions button. Wait until the operation completes, then quit Disk Utility and return to the main menu.
Reinstall OS X: Select Reinstall OS X and click on the Continue button.
Note: You will need an active Internet connection. I suggest using Ethernet if possible because it is three times faster than wireless.

Restart your phone,hold the home button and the off button down till the apple symbol comes up. If that doesnt fix it , you need to do a restore in itunes by connecting to itunes , click on your phones name to the left, then click restore in the center of the screen and restore from backup.

Need router that works with G4 tower and macbook pro G5

I work with a group of people and we share our computers when we work on a project. We use my G4 Quicksilver, currently hooked up to a D-Link router DI-524, rev. C. One of our group's laptop died and got a MacBook Pro with Leopard and installed Adobe CS3 (we are using CS2). Problem is the MAcBook Pro keeps losing it's connection, damaging files in Adobe. The router is not listed as compatible with the MacBook pro (same model, rev A is however) so I guess that is part of our problem. I am confused by the variety of products and want to make sure the local network we use functions better. I almost went for the Apple Extreme until I read about possibly needing an enabler. By the way, I am also having trouble with printer sharing, don't know if it is router related as I can most of the time get on line on the Pro and share files - its just that it cuts out unpredictably and causes trauma in the work flow. Since the G4 is the home base, I am posting here. Thanks

It sounds like you have at least two problems: reliable wifi connection and version control. The second one I can just say that when I was an engineer we had a separate software application that allowed collaborative work to be done on a project. It is quite complicated, but only one file could be opened and saved so that a person could do their thing on the file and then save it back to document central. The software would keep track of everything and make sure things were saved properly, etc. If disaster struck, you could still revert to the last version and not have to start over.
The unreliable connection is a fairly common problem. My wife's MacBook Pro is at the other end of the house. The path loss between her machine and the router is significant. Because the Pro has a built in antenna, it's not the best in the world for reception or transmission. I ended up putting a USB WIFI stick on her Mac. I also put it on the end of a USB cable so that I could hoist and move the stick around to get best performance. I'm not aware of any compatibility issues between Macs and routers, but my router is a plain Jane DLink 514 and my iMac, G4, PowerBook Pro, and my Windoz machine running Ubuntu on it are all happy. BTW, I also had to put a USB WiFi stick on the Windoz machine and with the constant internet updates I need for Ubuntu, the connection only occasionally is messed up.

1. System Preferences > Other/ Flash Player > Advanced > Delete All
     Press the "Delete All" button
     Install Adobe Flash Player.

    Quit Safari.

3. Check whether you are currently in YouTube HTML 5 trial.

If there is no loading bar, it's usually a problem with a third party kext file in OS X itself.
You can press the power button down to force a hardware shutdown, then reboot holding the shift key down on a wired or built in keyboard, this will disable them and you go around and update your third party software.
Gray, Blue or White screen at boot, w/spinner/progress bar
Also take this time to backup your users files off the machine if possible.

To prevent your iPhone from automatically syncing when you plug it in, click on iTunes in the menu bar, then preferences, then "devices", then tick "prevent iPhones, iPad's and iPod's from syncing automatically".
Plug it in, then on the iPhone sync summary screen, click "info" along the top.
Make sure the "sync contacts" option is not ticked. as long as it's not ticked, then it won't sync with your mac's contacts but will still include them in backups.
Also, if you use iCloud, make sure that the iPhone/mac are either not signed into the same account, or that "contacts" is not turned on for both of them

If things seem to be going haywire with your phone, it seems that it MAY be a software issue.
Now, that being said, that does not necessarily mean that it is a virus. Software issues do happen sometimes. It is probably just coincidence.
What you need to do is restore the device using iTunes. This will fix any software issues. After you have done this, you can restore from an iCloud backup.
iCloud does not back up the actual software, so no, the "virus" would not have gotten into the backups.
