My safari just stoped working

My safari was working fine yesterday, not slow, no problems at all. Then I turned it off and went back to it a few hours later. The safari opens up a new 'page' thing and seems to be trying to load the apple main page but nothing happens, the 'sorry can't connect you to the internet' doesn't even pop up. Absoloutely nothing happens no matter what i do the page just remains completely blank. It is connected to the internet through the airport wireless system and that's fine, maximum signal strength. Other computers are connected to i though, however this has never been a problem before. I have tried loads of things, resetting safari, emptying the cache but nothing else happens. I'm starting to get worried now. It's only 1 and 1/2 months old and has never done this before. Please, can somebody help? I would be so grateful as i'm new to the whole mac thing and so aren't really sure what to do if there's a problem and how to fix it.

Me too! Safari crashed repeatedly this afternoon. Now it won't open. Blank browser comes up, no URL, spinning beach ball of death, then crash. I trashed the pref files, also the launch services cache files. Still won't open. I'm now using Internet Express

My phone just stoped working, what do i do??

Did you managed to solve this issue? Performing a hard reset usually helps.
Press and hold both the Lock button and Home button simultaneously until screen fades.
Continue to hold until the Apple logo lights up.

My mic just stoped working. But works when I record video.

That is really strange, jkm2009. Let's do all we can to get your phone working properly! Does your Droid Mini's mic not work while trying to make a basic phone call? Does it work when using it during a speakerphone phone call?
Do you recall any updates or new apps downloaded prior to this starting?

  • If my ipad has a dint in it but it still worked for 7 months after that moment and know it just stoped working does the year warranty still apply

If my ipad has a dint in it but it still worked for 7 months after that moment and know it just stoped working does the year warranty still apply.

No. iPads that have any type of denting or physical damage (old or new) are not covered under the warranty. Apple would have no way of determining when the damage was done or if that damage caused your present issue.
I believe that once they see physical damage, their reasoning for voiding the warranty would be that visible, physical damage, irregardless of when it ocurred.

  • My wi-fi on ipod touch just stoped working at home it will work at other locations.

I was using wi-fi then one day it just stoped.  I reset the box and thru itunes.  I am getting signal at other locations.

    - Power off and then back on your router.
    - What do yoo mean by:
" I reset the box and thru itunes"
    - Have you reset the iPod. Nothing will be lost.
Reset iPod touch:  Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Reset network settings: Settings>General>Reset>Reset Network Settings

  • Safari just not working like it used to

I'll be the first to admit that I'm not on the leading edge with my software – I'm still running OS X 10.2.8 and Safari 1.0.3 on my Mirror Drive Door G4. But lately, Safari seems like it doesn't want to work with some web pages. For example, when I go to the Apple site, I get a big black void on the new iPhone landing page – I know there's supposed to be something there, but it's not showing up. On some other sites (particularly those using active server pages), some links are no longer clickable. Even Safari's pop-up blocker seems to get defeated more often lately. (For the record: I've got plug-ins, Java and Javascript enabled, and I'm always accepting cookies. I also clear the cache regularly and have cleaned up my permissions and preferences.) My current work-around is simply to browse troublesome pages in Firefox instead. But I'd like to continue using Safari.
Am I correct in suspecting that there's nothing wrong with my machine or software, but that web technology is changing rapidly and that Safari 1.0.3 is just obsolete? I realize that Apple's "Help" says to always use the latest version of Safari. For me, I guess that means purchasing Tiger or Leopard. Maybe I just need to bite the bullet? Thanks.
    Power Mac G4   Mac OS X (10.2.x)

    garp --
    I understand your situation.
You would love Tiger, but given your current Jaguar
here's a list of basic cleaning up things to do.
Do these & report back, OK ?
    1. Empty your cache & History settings via the Safari menu
    2. Trash your Icons Folder:
    HD>Users>Home>YourName>Library>Safari -->Icons
Restart Safari and a new folder will be automatically regenerated.
(This folder saves favicons of all the sites you visit. Needs cleaning periodically -- or you can change that file's preferences to "Read Only"
rather than "Read & Write." This will keep it from growing in size.)
    3. Unfortunately, you don't have Font Book with Jaguar. Do you have a font manager? You might want to check for duplicate fonts on your Mac. By adding new apps & peripherals, extra fonts have been added, and you may have duplicates or font conflicts which can slow things down considerably.
Do not touch any fonts located in the HD>System>Library>Fonts folder.
Question for you: Do you have internet apps SpeedDownload, iGetter, PithHelmet, Acid Search, Safari Enhancer ? Or Norton or Virex? Sometimes non-apple internet apps need updating or uninstalling. If you do, let us know which ones and which version, please.
    If you're still having problems:
    4. Shut down your computer . . . unplug the computer, modem, and router, if you have one. Let everything sit for 2-3 minutes. Plug everything back in, start up your modem & router, then restart your computer.
Safari 1.0.3 is very old, and it is entirely possible that it's just not reading sites well. But if you do all of the above, at least it should be better.
    Hope this helps

  • Why has my Safari just stopped working?

Why won't my i-Phone connect to the internet.
It's connected to my Wi-fi, which is working
Error message says 'Safari could not open the page because the server stopped responding'
    Any ideas?

It's Google it gets stuck with
Router is fine - Google works OK with the PC
IP address is valid, and connection is good, it just won't connect to the internet!
If I check the e-mail - it 'searches for new', then confirms no new e-mails - but gives an updated date of 14/04/2011?

Please help me!! I have Windows 8.1 and Adobe CS6 creative Suite. Adobe Acrobat x just quit, It won't open anything and it wont print to PDF. I need this for work!

Typically, the repair is done from the Control Panel>Programs & Features. In the future, try that route. Glad you found something that worked. When you do come to the forums for help, you may not get an immediate response, but may have to wait for someone familiar with your issue happens to check the forum, possibly after work. In any case, glad you have a working product again.

  • Safari just stopped working

I'm writing this using firefox as Safari wont loading anything. All I get is the little gray wheel spining and spinning and spinning!
The only thing that has changed is that virgin.net (who are my isp) this morning upgraded my connection to 8meg broadband. I reset my mac, reset my linksys router, reset safari.
My router says I have downstream rate of 5216 kbps so I dont think thats the problem and firefox is working ok
Any ideas why safari doesn't like my upgraded speed?

    Hello John,
Quit safari & trash it's com.apple.safari. plist file found in the home ~library-> preferences folder. That will set Safari back to default as you probably know. Also have you tried a restart of the puter ?
Let me know if that helps.

  • Safari Just Stopped Working for No Apparent Reason  -- What's Up?!

    Hi there
I'm new to this group, and I really hope someone can help...
For no known reason, the other day my Safari browser started to load VERY slowly and then eventually it quit. Apart from temporary trouble with broadband service, nothing has changed in my computer set-up. Now I can't even load Safari without it stalling and then quitting or 'hanging'.
I tried resetting Safari in the Preferences tab, and also testing all plug-ins and then re-installing (it only gave me the option of upgrading to the same version of Safari i had been using) -- all to no avail.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks!

    Configuration Failed
One or more configuration settings failed. Completed configuration settings will not be rolled back. Resolve the problem and run this configuration wizard again. The following contains detaljed information about the failure :
    Failed to register SharePoint services.
an exception of type System.ServiceProcess.TimeoutException was thrown. Additional Exception information : Time out has expired and the operation has not been completed.
To diagnose the problem, Review the application event log and the configuration log file located at :
