My Safary 5.1.10 (os x 10.6.8) doesn't work properly

for the last 5 months its getting slower and slower, if i watch a video it will stop after a few seconds and if I open a second page it freezes. what should i do?

If you mean the eval script then that works for me.<br />
Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode]] to check if one of the add-ons is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Themes).

Network printer not responding

Hello
When I try to print from my MacBook to my Canon network printer, I get the error message "printer not responding", even the printer works fine with both windows notebooks connected to the same WLAN.
I have a Canon MF8540Cdn printer connected with Ethernet to my router. The printer has the ip address 10.1.1.10, the gateway is 10.1.1.1 (Router IP) and the subnet mask is 255.255.255.0.
Then I have three notebooks, one MacBook (IP 10.1.1.101) and two windows notebooks (a HP notebook (IP 10.1.1.102) and a Lenovo notebook (IP 10.1.1.103)). All three notebooks are connected wo the same WLAN using enterprise encryption.
The two windows notebooks can print to the canon printer perfectly fine and have not havd any issues at all.
However, from the MacBook I can not print since the upgrade to OSX 10.9.1 Mavericks. I have the latest update from Mavericks.
So, I deleted the printer (settings - printer) and resetted the printing system and deleted the printer also in the folder "Library - Printers". Then I got the latest driver (version 10.2) from Canon and installed the driver (dmg file).
Next I added the printer in the in the settings as follows:
1. Hit the "+" buttton to add a printer
2. Select "IP"
3. enter the ip address of the printer (10.1.1.10)
4. Select "Line printer daemon"
5. The system automatically detected the printer "MF8500 Series" and filled in the location.
6. Add the printer
When I open the printer options now, I can see the toner levels corretly, so the MacBook must have connection to the printer.
In addition, I can open the printer web address in Safary by going to http://10.1.1.10 , this also works fine and I can modify settings too. So the IP connection is also fine here.
But, when I print a document, PDF, Word, Safari,..., the system firs report "connecting to the printer" and after a while it states "printer not responding"!
The printer seems not to get any info, as it does not start or show any error message.
However, the two windows notebooks can print fine, and I tried to print from windows, then directly after print from the MacBook, or first MacBook then windows or both allone, wait 1 hour print from MacBook, then wait one hour and print from Windows.
The result is always the same. The windows print fine, the MacBook does not print and reports printer not responding.
If I check the log file on the MacBook, it shows the time and the job number and then printer not responding.
Meanwhilte I deleted the printer aleready a couple times and also reinstalled the printer driver from Canon. On the Canon cummunity I also submitted a ticket, but everybody responded that the driver works perfectly fine.
Any idea, where the problem could be?

Select "Line printer daemon"
Why are you doing that? When you select the printer in the Add dialog, the driver should be entered automatically. Does that not happen?

I can't copy and paste anymore after installing 64bit software on 32bit system

I've installed an trial version of Adobe Indesign on my MacBook pro (Max OS X 10.5.8). I noticed that the programm could not be installed because it is an 64 bit version. Sadly I allready installed it and now I have a lot of problems. I can't copy and past files anymore. Also moving files from a folder to another folder is over. When I start applications most of them crash (Avid Media Composer, After Effects ect). When I open photoshop CS4.0 I get the following error: 'Could not import the clipboard because of a program error'.
Allso copy and past in Safary doesn't work anymore. I've tried to remove the com.apple.finder.plist file but dat doesn't work. When I reboot my mac and start up in safe mode the problems are still there.
Anybody an idea what to do?

Uninstall the incorrect version. It should have come with an uninstaller. Repair permissions, restart your computer, install the correct version, repair permissions and restart your computer again.

Safari slow and Not Loading Web Pages after changing Modems?

Hello...I recently changed from an AT&T DSL modem to a Knology Cable Modem to improve speed and overall network capablity. However, ever since I have changed I have had problems with Safary lagging or not loading the websites. It doesn't do it all the time, but periodically. Sometimes it is worse than others.
Basic issue: When using Safari, it stalls when loading a website. Sometimes it will load, other times it will say that Safari cannot load the website. If you wait a while and retry loading it, it may then load it.
Has anyone else seen something similar to this or know what I can do to fix the problem? It is rather frustrating.

If Safari is getting very slow:
(Presumably you regularly empty your Safari cache by deleting the following file:
Home/Library/Caches/com.apple.Safari/cache.db
and clear your History)

If you are using a single computer: Open System Preferences/Network. Double click on your connection type, or select it in the drop-down menu, and in the box marked 'DNS Servers' add the following two numbers:
208.67.222.222

Https proxy authentication

I have a strange behaviour while browsing with Safari:
I'm located behind a proxy server which requires authentication. For all http requests, everything works perfect, at the first access ever, Safary asked me to supply username and pasword for the proxy, I've chosen to save the password in my key chain and was never asked again for the pasword.
For https requests, Safari asks at least one time per request to put in my proxy username and password. Sometimes, it seems that Safari asks for each single object on a web pagefor the proxy credentials.
I've tried to narrow down the effect and it seems, that this is related to WebKit. If I use Firefox, it asks me only once to put in the proxy credentials and that's it. With OmniWeb (which is also based on WebKit) I have the same problem as in Safari.
Has somebody got the same effect or even has a solution for that?

Safari painfully slow on Mavericks. Why?

Hi, I have experiencing some issues after upgrading to Mavericks from Snow Leopard. One of then is that everything, specially Safary, went slow. That's no conection issue since Chrome works fine. that's kind ironic, actually. Any clues? It would help to install more RAM? I still have 2 empty slots.

Empty the Safari cache more often.
From your Safari menu bar click Safari > Preferences then select the Advanced tab.
Select: Show Develop menu in menu bar
Now click Develop from the menu bar. From the drop down menu click Empty Caches.
Quit and relaunch Safari to test.

whith that beautifull navigation sistem and all that disk space??...
I can't send a SMS text mesage to more than one contac (sh..!!) I was triying to send my new phone number to all my contac.. Also I have to write all my contacs on the address book (on my mac computer).... what about MMS?...
and not to mention that I can't upload aplication, or seach my iphone file system, or have private files...

Most cellular phones out today (except 3g phone) will not accept phone calls when the data network is being actively utilized. This doesn't happen if you are using WiFi and it isn't for the whole time you have SAFARI open, it is only when it is actively transmitting data over the network,
You can email people pictures.. I am assuming that the man who had the child and the phone has an ACTUAL EMAIL address.
Multiple SMS is probably being addressed.. and even if it never does I really don't think it is that big of an issue that people need to complain about it so much.
You don't HAVE to enter all your contacts on the computer, I simply created the groups I wanted on the computer and added contacts on the phone (with the exception of the ones imported from my contacts)
Why do you think you should have "control over the phone". The phone was designed and sold. You have 15 days to decide if you like it. It isn't like the phone doesn't work.. it actually works quite well. However it is an internet centric device.. the problem with phones like this (and pda phones) is they do require more use of a PC then a standard handset.. this isn't a problem.. it is just the nature of the phone.

Safari can't connect to the web proxy server (HTTP)

I have following problem. I need to connect to the internet using a proxy server. I went to System Preferences/Network/Wi-Fi/Advanced.../Proxies. Then, I selected Web Proxy (HTTP) and enetered server's IP address and port. It looks like I did everything correctly, but Safary can't open any page because "Safari can't connect to the web proxy server (HTTP)". Does anyone know how to solve this problem?

There are three possibilities:
1. You entered the wrong address and port number for the proxy.
2. You entered the wrong user name and password, if applicable.
3. The proxy doesn't work or is incompatible.

MacBook Pro 15.4 Battery not lasting

Hello,
could someone informe me if my mbp battery is working properly?
it has 3 months old, I have already changed the battery at the apple battery repair.
The new battery has 1 cycle, but it only lasts 3:30 h using only safary with the wireless on and brightness at the minimum (level one of brightness), but bluetooth and others are all off.
Is this right? if I put the brightness to half it only lasts about 2:25h, while in the web site it say that sould last to 5.5h.
Please help me.

but after the new installation with this folder is completely empty and I am still
unable to open these pdf.

The Safari, Email and Notes applications are native to the iOS and is unable to be deleted. Since this is the case, they are either in a folder on the iPhone, on another page or Restrictions are enabled. You can also search for these Apps on the iPhone by touching the screen and sliding your finger down. Here is some information regarding these features. Safary With Java

I'm working with my laptop in Windows 8 64 bits and i have installed Safari 5.1.7 (7534.57.2).
I have installed the following Java Software:
- Java 7 Update
- Java 7 Update 17 (64-bit)
- Java(TM) 6 Update 34 (64-bit)
When i want to get the site "http://qos.sapo.pt/", i get the message:
Java is unavailable.
The page ":: Portugal Telecom :: Teste de Velocidade Banda Larga"
attempted to load Java content, but Java is unavailable or not
installed. Do you want to go to a page where you can download
Java?
Go Cancel
and i can't get the site.
Why this happens if i have Java installed?

I have already marked all the boxes as follow:
Enable plug-ins
Enable Java
Enable JavaScript
To Test i ummark all the boxes and i mark them one by one.
The message only appear when i mark the first one (Enable plug-ins).
In the others the browser doesn't make anything and give no messages.
Then, i can't access the site.
As you can see, in the beginning of may message i give the version of my Safary.
