My school's blackboard does not yet support firefox5.0 but if supports all of 4.x, how do I get the latest 4.x version?

I would like the latest version, but it will cause problems taking tests in the blackboard app. for my school. How can I get the latest 4.x version?

Firefox 4 isn't supported, Firefox 5 was security update for Firefox 4. Firefox 3.6.x versions are still supported by Mozilla, so it would be best to stick with that for the time being for your BlackBoard website.

I think that you need to be patient.
There has not been any release of Camera Raw since the release of the camera.
I recommend to try the next version once it will be released, as there might be preliminary support (and therefore not listed).
Usually, Adobe is amongs the firsts to support a new camera.
Even though the Camera Raw team is fielded with wonderful coders, I do not think that they do have a time machine to allow support before they have their hands on a camera

Under Snow Leopard I used a WD My World NAS to back up my Mac Pro (Mid 2010). When I upgraded to Lion I am unable to access the backup because the NAS does not yet support AFP. I have now bought a Time Capsule and want to transfer the old backup onto it.

Keep the old OS around and just kick the tires and test new OS. Apple has a history and habit of breaking support in things like this.
You can use TimeMachine as one level of backup, and even there there were changes with Lion, I would always recommend foremost backup clones of every volume. And clone (SuperDuper etc) can be stored on something like HP NAS Media Server which also was supporting TimeMachine, iTunes - until Apple made that harder and more their own proprietary format.

Rather than "upgrade" I would clone the system, and do a clean install, then allow Setup Assistant to import your files.

You can find the Home button at the far right end of the Navigation Toolbar.
Firefox 4 uses a combined Stop/Reload/Go button that is positioned at the right end side of the location bar. 
During the page load process it shows as a Stop button and after the loading has finished the button is changed to a Reload button. 
If you type in the location bar then that button becomes a Go button. 
You can middle-click that Reload button to duplicate the current tab to a new tab.
To move the Stop and Reload buttons to their position to the left of the location bar you can use these steps:
* Open the "View > Toolbars > Customize" window to move the Stop and Reload button out of the location bar.
* Drag the Reload and Stop buttons to their previous position to the left of the location bar.
* Set the order to "Reload - Stop" to get a combined "Reload/Stop" button.
* Set the order to "Stop - Reload" or separate them otherwise to get two distinct buttons.
Open the Customize window via "View > Toolbars > Customize"

There is no download as such. When you purchase QT 7 Pro, you are just purchasing a registration key that "unlocks" the QT 7 "Pro" editing features already built into the QT 7 Player but not activated without the key. Since you are listed as using the Lion OS, you need to check your "Applications > Utilities" folder to see if QT 7 is already installed there.
If it is, then you will need to open the app, open the "Registration..." window under the "QuickTime Player 7" Menu and enter the "Registered To:" and "Registration code:" entries to activate the "Pro" features. Be sure to follow the instructions found on the web page I will post below.
If it is not already installed in the "Applications > Utilities" folder, then you will have to first download and install the special QT 7 Player v7.6.6 software found on the download page which is linked to the web page containing both installation and registration instructions which is included below.

Yeah, I don't see why you shouldn't be able to sign your friend's iTunes sign-on into iTunes, and then use that to download the books. You may need to also authorize your computer in iTunes with that ID in order to be able to re-download them to your device if you ever need to (not sure if this is absolutely required since most things live in the cloud now, but better to be safe than sorry.... ).

I've upgraded to Mavericks. HP Scan no longer works to scan images from an HP Photosmart c309a yet the printer works. My Mac does not recognise this scanner as a scanner, only as a printer. How do I get my applications such as Preview to use this scanner?

I've upgraded to Mavericks. Formerly HP Scan we used to establish communications with an HP Photosmart c309a all-in-one printer/scanner on my wi-fi network. As of the Dec 2013 update to Mevericks, it appears that HP Scan is now disabled and I cannot find this device as a scanner in System Preferences. I cannot connect to it in either Preview, Pages, or Photoshop Elements 8. Does anyone know a way of getting the OS to recognise this as a scanner?

How was the printer added? Using AirPrint or the HP ppd? Since Mavericks defaults to adding an AirPrint printer with the AirPrint ppd, it might be necessary to add it again with the HP ppd, after making sure you have the HP drivers installed.

If you have iTunes 11 (the latest which you should use) turn on the Sidebar. Go to iTunes>View and click on Show Sidebar. You can also do a Crtl+S to show the sidebar. The sidebar is where Devices appears. and Control+B to show the Menu bar
To sync to your iPod go to iTunes>Help>iTunes Help>Sync your iPod.... and follow the instructions.

I just opened Foxfire and it automatically imported bookmarks from safari, but not all of them. How can I get the rest of them ?

I still have Safari on the computer with all my bookmarks. Not all of them came over to Firefox. How can I get them over. Also I had some in the toolbar that displayed over the window. Does this browser have that feature?

Export the bookmarks in Safari to an HTML file and import that file in Firefox.

How do I get the latest adobe flash player installed on my mac if it's not excepting my adobe password.

I am unable to watch most videos on my Macbook because i keep getting a message stating that I need to update to the latest version. When I try to do that, I get a prompt to enter my adobe password, but my password is not working at that prompt. That same password works on adobe.com though. Can someone help me?
