My credit score updated today to Eq(606) TU(527) Exp(577)I started off with the capital one secured card in may CL $401applied for the cap 1 qs one card and got approved with a $500 CLShould i apply for another card or wait and if so which one? or any other advice of what i should do next?
Yep that's why I was encouraging another card. Because I waited between cards 6 months each. I wish I could have applied and received all at the same time for AAOA reasons
BUT
If your credit is not good enough I do believe it's better to wait to apply for an unsecured card instead of getting more secured cards. Only because most of the time you tie your money up into cap1 secured card and they never graduate.

MAJOR UPDATE!!!!!:I was going to stop applying after getting approved for cap 1 qs 1 but thanks to the members that told me three cards are actually ideal for rebuilding credit i went back and did some digging to see what else i can apply for and get approved for and not just waste an inquiry. After reading reviews, some more posts on my fico, i decided to apply for the NFCU nRewards card....and....I GOT APPROVED with a limit of $6K!!!! Can you believe that with my scores i stated earlier, its unbelieveable now i am going to nurture these three cards and improve on them until my scores are in the 700s. THANK YOU SO MUCH MYFICO COMMUNITY.

Please help me figure this out. I'm very unhappy at the moment. I'm fustrated and don't have any idea how to revert to the original version before the update was done on iMovie 10. I NEVER hated APPLE until NOW!! I love APPLE products and apps so please help me stay in that mindset. So I worked on some movie projects when I got my macbook pro 6 months ago. I update reguarly. I saw the update prompt and honestly, I did not think I would have ANY issuess with opening my previous files that I created only a few months ago with this updated version.The new updated version of iMovie 10 won't let me open my previous files I created before the update today. I have a wedding that I'm trying to finish and deliver and now I can't because that file version won't open. I keep getting an error message and the iMovie app closes. Last night I saw the file and tried to open it but no luck. Error message came up again. I reboot and turned off my laptop for the evening and tried again just now but nothing!! I need that video. My job depends on it! I worked so hard on this wedding video and now it's lost and won't open. I work another job and don't have much time. I really don't want to start all over again. Please help me. Thanks so much for your assistance.

Jolly A. RuppI also have Jolly's problem. I found the iMovie 9.0.9 folder and tried to launch the older version of iMove. It would not launch. I removed all of the iMovie preferences from the Preferences folder, removed iMove 10 from the applications folder, and restarted my Mac. iMove 9.0.9 still won't launch and I can't access my videos created with the older version of iMovie. Is there a way to uninstall iMovie 10 and reinstall iMovie 9.0.9?
I am running Yosemitie on a iMac.

since last update (today) I get invalid Apple ID password when trying to use back to my MAC in Icloud app on my MAC, password works on all my other devices. GLITCH ?
Try going to the Apple ID page on your web browser

(obviously you had to be able to successfully log in to be able to post here)
I was finally able to log in through my system preferences after about three or four hours. I ran a disk utility to repair permissions and restarted and it seemed to work ok. -
I need help!!! Did my iOS 6 update today, thought it was fine!! Then my friend text me and instead of saying Siobhain it says voicemail text message!! I've tried deleting her and adding her again, turning phone off etc etc!! Please help!!
I know of no way to remove encryption on iTunes backups if you've forgotton the password. If you've used the 4 digit PIN code to lock your iPhone in the past that can sometimes default as your "password" for this encryption in iTunes. Try that PIN or any PIN you've used in the past. If you don't use a lock maybe you played around with that feature once when you first got your phone....try "1,2,3,4" or anything you could have possibly tried.
As far as accessing older unencrypted backups you can try this software. I do not have any experience using it but it seems like it's what you need and is probably the easiest route for both voicemail and texts:

I know with AT&T, voicemails are only stored on their servers for 30 days so any voicemail older than that you would not have been able to access again.

I applied the update today to an Iphone 5 and it totally trashed the phone. Total restore WOULD NOT bring it back- it is a nice paper weight- Error 6. Any body got a clue? Have tried restore several times- yes- disconnected all usb devices THX

I did the update today and now itunes can't see my ipod, uninstalled iTunes and all the recommended things, nothing has worked.
It worked just fine last weekend. I have windows 8.1 and a brand new pc, new iPod also, the new Nano. now after the update today, iTunes says iPod has been detected but could not be indentified properly. I can see it in windows. I tried the reset on the iPod also. what else can I do?? HELPuninstalled iTunes and all the recommended things
Doublechecking. Have you tried a complete uninstall of both iTunes and all the other related software components and then a reinstall? If not, try the instructions from the following document:

Hot 2010 MacBook Pro on 10.6.8 Update Today 10/28
After the 10.6.8 update, the CPU temp went to 149°F with the fans at 6000 rpm with no running apps except a few utilities, Omni Outliner and Safari.
Did the Safari update today, too and every web page now causes Little Snitch to ask for 1-2 dozen approvals for connecting to outside servers.
Other than PathFinder, Default Folder, Quickeys, Numbers, Safari & Mail, nothing of note is open & none of them are doing any tasks, except writing in this windo in Safari.
This is one bizarre update and has caused me to not trust Apple's updates all of a sudden.
Has anyone seen this and had any clue as to what causes these issues?

PS: I am going to have to backup the whole **** thing and then restore a clone from 2 days back and move the data files back in. This is the pits.
My update regimen in the future will be VERY careful:
1. Clone the internal HD (separate from other archiving and backups)
2. Update the external Clone from Apple's Software Update and try the external Clone for a number of days.
3. If there are no problems, then finally update the internal HD.Reloaded the older 10.6.7 MacOS X and now 108°F @ 3000 rpm with the same apps & utilities running, and that 50°F difference is HUGE. Something causes the energy expenditure and I'm sure curious as to what it might be.
Safari doesn't bug me trying to cause Little Snitch to log all sorts of new server connections or deny them.
Things like this are disconcerting, as I don't use unusual applications or utilities and nothing like this has happened in the last MacOSX versions since I started using OSX about version 10.2 (I figured I'ld avoid the 10.1 beta release).
I must admit, there is a small chance that something flipped a bit wrong on the install of the updaters, for 10.6.8 and Safari. In that case I would still expect that the installer should have caught the buggy install, but that's the way it goes. -

I'm having all kinds of problems since loading Lion and I really wish I hadn't bought it yet. Even after the software update today, 1. my modem still won't work, 2. Photoshop Elements produces muddy photo prints, 3. View preferences in windows don't hold, etc. Anybody at Apple listening? Anybody else out there having these kinds of problems?
10.7 was horrible unstable so I waited until 10.7.1 and tried it again. Well I have to say that it is still a defective OS. I am reverting to Snow as we speak from my carbon clone copy.. This is really the worst OSX I have ever used. It gives me random Kernel panics for no reasons, unstable airport and hundreds of small issues that are just not necessary. For instance I can't use QuickTime in Lion to trim a videoclip ( the UI goes mad and the trimslider becomes inoperable and hangs the Player window ) while in Snow it is no problem. Itunes gives me crackling sound when the equalizer is turned on, Graphical glitches in Photoshop, games crashing, Preview.app not working with some pdfs, so I need Adobes reader which I never used before.. It is definately not ripe for mass usage. Might 10.7.2 or 10.7.3 fix it, but not yet.
* and just for the records : the hardware is absoltely ok. Because in Snow it works as it should. ( So many Lion fanbois are talking : "your Ram is defect", defintely NOT. - Lion is defect! ).

Open Office Not Functioning Properly After Mavericks 10.9.1 Update Today
Is anyone else getting this issue?
Everyone in the company I manage was using MS Office on their Windows-based computers and we were getting a lot of annoying formatting incompatibilities becasue I was using Pages on my Mac. I actually prefer Open Office and started using that again but we were still having trouble. I decided to install Open Office on all of our computers to avoid cross-platform dramas and with us all using Open Office, it has meant that we've elimintated all annoying little formatting incompatibilities and other problems.
We've been using Open Office on 3 Windows-Based computers and my MacBook Pro for about 3 months. I agreed to the latest Mavericks update 10.9.1 today and since then, whenever I start my Open Office application, I'm getting this annoying little box that won't go away (see attached picture) and numerous options in Open Office can't be accessed. I've deleted and reinstalled Open Office this morning and tried different combination of shutdown, restart, force quit and nothing seems to affect this problem. I also can't reopen files recently opened because an error box pops up to say that they can't be opened because Open Office is not installed. Yet I can go to finder and open them from there.
It would take too much time to list all of the separate issues I've found; so in summary, a lot of the Open Office functionality just ISN'T WORKING since the Mavericks update today. Apple, what have you done?! What can BE done to fix this?Hi navaneeth27
Yes that's exactly what I'm experiencing.
I'm wondering whether it has something to do with having had Open Office running while installing the update to Mavericks 10.9.1. I had OO open when I agreed to the update and I was still working on a Writer file when my MacBook Pro unexpectedly shut itself down and began installing the update, showing only a progress bar in a small window before reloading everything. It was at that point that the unresponsive 'Don't Reopen' 'Reopen' window appeared. It's insidious and stopping much of the functionalty of OO from working. Such a pain!
I force-quit OO, fully uninstalled it, purged all mention of it from my MBP, restarted tried opening files that were set to be opened by OO by default, and confirmed that they were being opened by Pages - and they were by default. I then reinstalled OO 4.0.1 from the OO site (and that's what I had earlier today, before this adventure began). I then tried opening some previous documents that were saved as .doc and OO popped up WITH the 'Don't Reopen' 'Reopen' window AAAAGAIN!
I'm working on 2 screens so I've placed the box that just won't go away at the very edge of my MBP screen and am workng on files on my second screen - but much of the functionality still isn't available.
I'm stuck and don't know what to do next. -

Cannot Connect to iTunes Store after 6.1.3 (10B329) update today
After updating both my iPad mini and iPhone 4s with the latest security update today neither my iPad or iPhone will purchase or update any iTunes app.
My wife has not updated her iPad and everything still works fine with iTunes
I've tried all the advice on the discussion pages , date changing, logging in and out, resets etc. same result "cannot connect to iTunes" arghhhhhhhhhh
Please help .......I saw a failed download in iTunes (iPad) and retried to download this song.
This went ok. Then back to the AppStore and whala it all works again.
Maybe it was an error with Apple, I don't know. -
IMac crashed while updating today and I can't find my reboot disk
Hello, I have an iMac that was purchased Feb 2014 and when it was trying to install the latest update today (March 12, 2015) it crashed. Like, I can't get it to boot at all. unless I have the reboot disk. The problem is, I can't find my reboot disk. I have my reboot disks from my 2 MacBook Pro's and from my MacBook Air, but I can't find my iMac disk.
This happened, of course, 6 days after my warranty has expired so I get no support from Apple...geeze. Any suggestions and/or helps would be GREATLY appreciated.
CameronWhile in the recovery mode, select the Terminal app from the Utilities menu, and copy & paste the following lines, one at a time, followed by hitting the return key. After the first, you should get a Password: prompt. Carefully, type in your admin password, since nothing shows on the screen, and hit the return key:
sudo chflags 0 /volumes/*
sudo chmod a+rx /volumes/*
These should unlock the HD.

Is there a way (or a plugin) to export develop settings into a readable file format?
For online educational/sharing purposes, I'd like to be able to export my LR develop settings into a readable text format so that if I share a before/after picture I can also include the LR develop settings that went into creating the after picture.
