My screen cracked on it's own. What's going on?

I got my first iphone the iphone 4s last Friday after my contract with Sprint ended. I am just having bad luck with this thing. The first box I got was completely defective. There was no audio during calls so I brought the phone back to the apple store and they replaced it for free. Then I tried to charge the second phone when I got home and it ended up that the charger was broken too. I ended up getting a defective box and had everything replaced after I made another trip to the apple store.
TODAY, I just woke up and my screen has a crack in it. I haven't dropped the phone at all and have had it in a case since I bought it. What's going on? Has this happened to anyone else? Will apple replace my phone? I haven't dropped the phone at all so I don't know what could have happened. It sat on my nightstand all night and now it just has a crack in it.
Another problem I'm having with this phone is that there is a delay in calls when I try to call out. I am on the AT&T network. I want to just return it at this point but I don't know if that's even possible. I didn't know this was even possible and I don't want to be accused of lying when I inform Apple that it broke on it's own.

I think my main concern to trying to find out if this is a common problem or if it has ever happened to anyone else. I'm sure apple will make the final decision regarding what will happen to my iphone but I'm not sure I would want to exchange it for a new one if this is a known issue. Maybe, mine was just defective again.

Nokia Lumia 630 screen cracked

My 3day old Lumia phone screen cracked on it's own.service centre says it is physical damage.but it is manufacturing defect.they don't understand my point at all. Very poor quality screen &utterly useless service centre.

Welcome to the gang. I got my 720 repaired at own cost from Nokia. Breakage is not covered under warranty. After that many more problems started cropping up like button malfunction etc.
When i returned to Nokia for a check up as it was under warranty. Nokia refused stating that if a screen is repaired the warranty is void. (Sent via Paragon telelinks, Thane, India) to Nokia for repair.
So think 2 times before you spend 50 % of phone cost in sreen repair.

Up to you whether you want to get it serviced. If you don't, I'd suggest putting on a screen protector to help hold the screen together and try to prevent further damage. It's likely that it will eventually fail at some point, but you could get lucky and have it continue to work for quite some time.
If you decide you want to get it serviced, Apple does not repair iPads, but will replace the entire iPad for a flat fee. If you have AppleCare+ on the iPad, the cost will be relatively minimal; $49 in the US. Otherwise, see the Service Pricing section here:

There are independent iPad repair services that may be able to replace the screen for less. Do a web search for "ipad repair". You can also look for parts and instructions and do the repair yourself. Note, though, that if you elect to have the iPad serviced by an unauthorized shop or perform your own repair, you will get no further support from Apple.

That's where I would begin, too, with
Repair Disk
Insert Installer disk and Restart, holding down the "C" key until grey Apple appears.
Go to Installer menu (Panther and earlier) or Utilities menu (Tiger) and launch Disk Utility.
Select your HDD (manufacturer ID) in the left panel.
Select First Aid in the Main panel.
(Check S.M.A.R.TStatus of HDD at the bottom of right panel, and report if it saysanything but Verified)
Click Repair Disk on the bottom right.
If DU reports disk does not need repairs quit DU and restart.
If DU reports errors Repair again and again until DU reports disk is repaired.
If DU reports errors it cannot repair you will need touse autility like TechTool Pro,Drive Geniusor DiskWarrior
First we need to determine if the issue you are experiencing with the computer is software or hardware based. Once we have gotten things sorted out there should be time enough to make you decision about keeping or returning it.

I don't know. You'll have to ask.
FYI, if the phone was not originally sold in India, it can not be serviced in India. You will have to take it back to the country where it originated.

Oh well that's what I heard because it's about the 90 days warranty ,,. Anyway can you please tell me what I can do to get it fixed ? It's a not really big crack in the right bottom side of the screen
