My screen Documents are locked in place, help unlocking please.
All of my screen documents and pictures have locked themselves in place and wont allow me to move them.
Can anyone help me figure out how the get them to move again.

While updating the PO through API (Oracle Version - 11i) we are getting the error message 'This document is locked by another user. Please try again later.' intermittently.
We are using below API to update the PO through interface program.

i have an old macbook, i just installed the newest version of iTunes and it opens but before i can accept on the first screen, an error pops up (-45054), help me please!?

Built-in network capabilities disabled by admin. All mechanical functions are locked up. Help!
I accidentally clicked on HP Utilities (from my Macbook) the "Disenable All" botton for HP printer & scanner. Now all of the functions (such as wireless communication) and features (every bottons on printer's touchscreen) are locked up.
The message shown on touchscreen specifies "Contact the system adminstrator or the person who set up the printer".
Where can I access the "adminstrator" command directory? On my Macbook? Or via HP user's account online? Or some sort of password key-in assigned to the OfficeJet Pro 6835 on the printer itself? It's very confusing that nowhere can I find the "adminstrator" directory from all of the above.
Without a solution, I've searched all over HP online support, read the OJ Pro 6835 manuel, as well as followed the steps for hard-reset, and tried to re-boot the pritner with router cable. Yet the printer is still loked up and the wireless icon still dimmed. So then last attempt is I un-installed HP printer application from my Macbook and tried to re-install the software again, now I got "the installation failed" message. To this point, I don't know what to do.
P.S. Only I wished HP could have designed a "reset" botton on the machine, so to prevent the "deadlock" issues and make the user experiences more firendly.Hi, I have the same problem with my new OfficeJet Pro 6835 All-in-One.

I just picked up a new Mac and have been trying to transfer files backed up to an external hard drive from a PC. I was able to transfer some of the files without issue, but most of the files show that they are locked. Now that they are on the Mac I can't unlock or delete them.

Does this 'grayed-out area' have anything to do with- 'all of the add-ons that you installed before you loaded the Theme Font & Size Changer' ?
Not all buttons that are added by extensions can be moved to another toolbar.<br />
So it is possible that those buttons are added by an extension that only supports the Add-on bar for their buttons.

Itunes screen fonts are scrambled!! help (see screenshot)
the ipod summary page has really screwed up fonts. It drops letters from certain page items and scrambles the ipod disk space summary at the bottom.
I have windows XP fonts set to normal size, native LCD res 1920X1200. Can anybody help me fix this?

Windows XPIt could be the CS6 "text blending" shown below that's responsible. I think the default for CS6 is to have it enabled at 1.45. Perhaps CS4 is using gamma 2.2. If you disable the blending in CS6, 2.2 will be used.

I've downloaded Itune free version & connected my Iphone to my PC (Windows XP SP 2) & its shows only camera as other drive. After that i've tried to copy my Itune playlist to Iphone but nothing has happened. The Itune is showing that
there is a new version of Iphone software which is about 160 MB, & i downloaded & its installed automatically to Iphone now I don't know if it is firmware or anything alse.
After that i've decided to register my iphone & I've insercted my AT&T SIM card (although in India there is no AT & T service) i've subscribe the monthly plan for AT & T service & filled the other info., but now it asked me to fill the Credit Card details & othe info for Itune store, & i definetly don't want to purchase the Itune songs & ringtones, so i stopped the regd. process.
Then the problem creates, my Iphone gets locked & now its showing only the Itune Icone & the Cable Icon & on that its showing my IMEI & ICCID number... so what is ICCID number? now i can't access my Iphone, no welcome screens, no
other Icons... just the below slider icon for emergency calls... nothing else. Also I've removed the AT & T SIM & put my regular SIM but it won;t worked. I'm really upset with Iphone... Can any one help me to unlock my Iphone?

Time machine restored files are locked and can't unlock them
After upgrading to an SSD, i was having problems with restoring files from Timemachine. i fiexed that by naming my ssd drive the same as the drive that was backedup using time machine. now, i can't seem to edite any of the files restored in Documents from the backup. not can i edit or add content inside the folders withing documents. i dont know whats going on. they appear lock and there is no way to unlock them. it says i will need to duplicate the items!
i'll run a permissions verify once. in the mainwhile, if u guys know about this please let me know. thanks.

Ok- saying 'locked' besides their name when you open it is Lion-speak for the fact that it hasn't been edited in a while. It should, once you try and edit it, pop up a dialogue offering you the chance to duplicate or unlock the file. In the instance that the second option isn't available, try some or all of the following:
-As the poster above said, try doing a get-info (cmd i) on a file/folder and seeing if it's locked. Uncheck it if it is. If you find they are ALL locked, you can change it on multiple items at once by selecting them and pressing cmd alt i
-If that didn't help, try looking at the permission at the bottom of the get-info pane. Does it say you have read-write access? If it doesn't, unlock these options with the little padlock at the bottom and change it so that you do.
-You can also try going to a high-level folder (namely, one with a lot of stuff in) and doing what I just described, then under the read-write permission hit the little cog-symbol and choose 'apply to enclosed items'. See if that helps.
-My final suggestion would be to find a free application called ACL fix. This helps repair dodgy or messed--up permissions using a simple drag and drop interface. Download that, and drag the affected folders onto it as per the instructions. Hopefully it should fix everything up.
Try all that, then let me know what's what -
Somebody help.. I don't get what's going on. This didn't happen in the beginning, it was completely fine with watching full screen videos, but now it seems to "glitch" now and then and appear slow and laggy. whattttt
If the computer seems normal except for watching youtube the problem is probably between you and your ISP or between the ISP and youtube. If your computer seems slow no matter what you are doing try restarting your computer and see if that helps. (If so pay attention to your Page Outs in the Activity Monitor and also how much free space your hard drive has.)

I work with PS every day, I don't have time to screw around with waiting. I understand Adobe's need to not answer every question from someone who downloaded a trial version, but the guy on the phone could see from my records that I have owned LEGITIMATE PS software for 15 years, plus InDesign and Illustrator. I've also beta tested and helped develop third party apps for PS since it is where I make my money and I want great filters to enhance the overall PS experience. You'd think for people who have supported Adobe all the way along could get one stupid question answered instead of being routed to a forum where they are likely to get lost in the shuffle of a million other questions. Doesn't really make me want to invest my time or money any further and stick with what I've got. -
Local Area Network File Sharing Help Needed Please!
Hello I've got a question. I'm trying to set up two Macs that are connected to the same router so that we can share files between each one. Is there a way to do this so that there's only ONE specific folder that each computer has access to on the other?
For instance I'd like it so that there's ONLY ONE folder on my hard drive that the other computer can access and vice versa.
Is this possible? I've read some literature on this subject and it says that when you allow sharing it makes your entire public directory accessible and that's not what I want.

Assumtions:
• both macs share the same subnet (Assuming the one used by the router)
• assuming you can communicate with each of them from each other .
• assuming both of these are OS 10.4 or 10.3 .. just making sure its not another ye olde os)
• assume that the MAC where you want the FOLDER (directory) placed is always going to be available. (ie doesn't fall into sleep mode)
• assuming reasonable network speed (I dont know what you client MAC will be using in its work flow - large or small files e.g.)
• assuming that you dont mind if ANYONE in your system of two macs can accesse the folder (keep it simple for now)
Steps:
(on your SERVER mac).. the "NAS server" machine.
• create the folder in your ~/public/<myshared_foldername> (anywhere would do btw or on one of the volumes in /volumes.....
•set up the priviliges using the FINDER WINDOW for the foler (+i) (get info)
(for example there is an "OWNERSHIP and PERMISSIONS" .. expand it all and it's pretty self explanatory". For simplicity here, just make it available to ALL and sundry.
• do what ever you do to put an icon and a label & comment on the folder
(on your client mac)
• assuming all network connections are cool and you have both airport and/or ethernet/and or/FW connectivity via your router....
• in the finder use +k (go to server) and put in the local name of or the IP address (to choose your fastest path) to the MAC that is your server.
• answer any prompts for user and password. If you dont care, you can have that MAc log into the SERVER mac using your normal user and passwrd as a registered user, else default to guet.
All so far very simple.
Now the tric is to have it AUTOMATIC so tha when your client mac startups and someone on that machine needs access to your SERVER (As a NAS server), it just happens.
and this is simply achived on the client machine by adding ing it into the LOGIN ITEMS for that user (and the others).
How is that done?
Simply DRAG AND DROP the desktop folder icon of the folder(s) to be shared) into the "login items" for the (system preferences/accounts/" users on the CLIENT machine. If there are multiple usres that need this then do it for all of them or have them do it.
I think you can also enable some options in the SERVER's (NAS) system preferences/"energy saver" to wake itup whould it go to sleep.. such as 'wake up for ether net access" or something.
anyway.. it gets more complex when you want to perform specific accesses and rights to the folders and the sub directories.
This is simply implementing NFS I beleive.
This will work first time and we use it all the time without the need for COTS or brand-x software.apps to make it happen.
