My early 2011 MacBook Pro 15" non-glare display has developed a dark band at the edges of the screen approximately the same width as the aluminum surround. This wasn't present when the MBP was new. I'm near an Apple Store and can take the laptop in, but has anyone else had this problem?
Thanks for your input. I didn't completely flesh out what I'm seeing visually. The resolution settings are all correct for my screen. The problem is if, say, looking at the gray startup screens or a completely white full-screen image, there is a perimeter of graying, almost as if the LEDs are somehow not as bright as the rest. It's also curious that the thickness of this phenomenon is almost exactly the same as the metal bezel around the display. I will be taking it to an Apple Store for a look, as I'm also having several minor hardware problems that need to be addressed and remedied.

My iPad screen has developed a vertical line down the middle
My iPad screen has developed a vertical line down the middle for some reason. I have tried turning it off and resetting it, but the line still appears. Does anyone know what causes this or how it could be rectified?
Hi JoMayo,
Thanks for visiting Apple Support Communities.
If you're noticing lines or distortion on your iPad screen, I would suggest completing step 4 (update iPad) and 5 (restore iPad) in our iPad assistant:

When I launch a video from Finder the video is not visible, it's like it's playing on an extended desktop but I can't see the other screen - what is going on?
Hi Dan - I'm not sure I know what you mean by 'kick in Expose', can you please explain?
It's a weird one as it doesn't happen all the time. Could it have anything to do with running Apple TV and the MacBook 'thinking' there is another display (extended desktop) and playing the video there? -

T60 14" SCREEN HAS DEVELOPED A FADED BAR AT THE BOTTOM OF THE SCREEN.
Hello all,
I have a T60 14" which has developed a constant faded bar at the bottom. the bar is about 10cm in height and makes the screen look like it has two contrast settings. Upper screen is normal and lower faded area looks in high contrast. The faded bar has a constant height of about 10cm from left to right of the screen. I have tested the laptop on external screens and they all work fine which leads me to believe that it is an issue with the screen or something in the screen assembly. It also flickers on occasion.
I have posted a picture for all to see at the link below and would be very greatful if someone can point me in the right direction.

By the way, the laptop is no longer under warranty it expired 6 weeks ago just my luck!
Id appreciate any help on this. Thanks in advance.Hi brij001,
Welcome to the forum!
I think it's the lcd screen that needs to be replaced, my Mac had developed exact same issue, of course it was under warranty and therefore apple replaced the screen.
Another senior and very helpful member ajkula66 [George] is a thinkpad expert, he will probably better tell you what exactly is wrong with it.
Hope it helps.

I dropped my mac book pro and the screen has now got a black rectangle and pink and green lines down it. What is it and how do i fix it?
Sounds like the display got damaged. Connect an external display and see if that's OK. If that's OK then the display is probably damaged. You can try reseating the LVDS connector but if that doesn't help the connections on the display body are very difficult to get to. Apple would just replace the entire display and that's what I would do as well.

Installation of IOS7 has stuck my iPhone on AT&T screen - what's going on?
After installing the latest IOS7 (it may have been 7. something) this morning (4 Oct 2013), the iPhone now only shows an AT&T screen, rather than the usual screen with all the icons. The AT&T screen says: "Hello" and "slide to set up". On sliding a numerical pad appears with the message "Enter Passcode". I don't have a passcode for AT&T (and don't want one). But the screen is stuck with AT&T, and I can't shift it, whether by pressing, pressing and holding, combination pressing, combination pressing and holding, or just switching off and on - it just comes back to AT&T. So my iPhone is now useless. Anyone encountered this, or got any ideas?
My original text explained what I meant - exactly what I saw, and had - I don't know how else one could describe it. The situation was unusual in that I had just arrived in USA from UK, and had also just (in USA) upgraded online to IOS7. With an apparently useless phone I went in hope to the Apple Store in Georgetown, who very kindly sorted it out, quickly and efficiently - thanks Georgtown! The explanation was that my UK phone service provider (Vodafone) is apparently automatically switched to AT&T when I get here. Coupled with that, the 4-digit PIN code I use to open my iPhone, which I thought was associated with the phone regardless of the service provider, was required by AT&T as their "passcode". Bizarre - or at any rate, not self-evident to one brought up in the simpler world of the 1940s and 50s - but anyhow, it worked, and I've now got the icons - or at least a lot of them (but annoyingly, voice recording icon is no longer there). Also annoyingly, I have to re-enter the passcode every time I re-open the screen, not just when it's shut down after 5 minutes; and I can't find the data roaming block in the new "Settings" area. I suppose Apple Store will sort it out when I get back home, but meanwhile I'd better be careful how I use the phone while I'm here.

Within the firefox window -- anything in the top inch or so I am unable to use. This is the same for any site. I don't know what has happened and I cannot fix it.
In that area, I can move the cursor but when I click on things I cannot activate them anymore - an example is I can't go to the shopping basket on Amazon or my account.
Waht should I do?Hi,
Please check if this happens in [https://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Safe%20Mode Safe Mode].

Kernel Panics, New Hardware, Black Screens- What is going on?
For three weeks I have been in and out of the Apple Store every few days about my mid-2011 17" Macbook Pro.
It started with the screen suddenly going black. Then distorted screens. Then gray screens. Then obnoxiously loud beeping with gray and distorted screens. They thought it was software related and had me wipe everything clean
I did that. Problems persisted. Over the next two weeks, the following hardware was replaced:
-Display
-Logic Board
-RAM
-Hard Drive
Did a fresh install of Snow Leopard, only installed Chrome, Firefox, and Adobe Photoshop two days ago.
This happened after 20 minutes: http://tinypic.com/r/2s0h2du/6
I was using Chrome, that I had just freshly downloaded.
The Apple Store has my computer now. They seem to have given up.
Is Chrome the source of all these problems?Interval Since Last Panic Report: 8608 sec

I have a glichy imac screen, what's going on?
The screen on my white 2008-ish imac is behaving as such upon booting up, what parts are viewable and it also extends this issue to external monitors when connected. I don't want to drag this heavy-ish machine all the way down to an apple store to get an answer, so I'm hoping for an answer here. Image of the issue below.
Hello rhondaweasley,
Based on the information you have provided, it appears your Mac needs to be serviced. The following link should help you get started with the process and has links with additional information on topics such as warranty and service pricing, battery replacement, and express replacement service.

Safari crashes several times while on pinterest, screen goes black then goes to home screen when I start safari again it keeps doing the same thing. I checked the diagnostics page and there are several references stating low memory yet when I check the memory on the iPad there is plenty of memory help please
The memory that is low is the processor memory, not the overall storage space. Next time, before you go to that site, double tap the home button to see the task bar. You will see the list of apps siting in the recently used list. Most of them are not doing anything, but some of them are using up memory. Touch and hold any one of them until they jiggle, then close them all off by touching the minus sign.
Do that every so often to help the pad use it's memory wisely.
Some apps, and browser pages use a lot of memory, and do not give it back easily, causing what sis happening to you.
You can also get a similar result by rebooting. Press and hold the home and sleep buttons until the apple logo appears, ignore the red slider. -

I got use to using Calendar app where multiple entries are stacked under IOS6. Under iOS7.0.2 I enter a new appointment and after the entry I can not find the new appointment after i click on done. Am I doing something incorrect HELP!
The list view does not appear to be among the "standard views" for the Calendar app in iOS 7.0.x. You can still get the list view by going to the day view and hitting the search button (magnifying glass icon).
