Is there a lock symbol at the top of the screen next to the battery indicator ? If so, then depending on what you've got Settings > General > Use Side Switch To set to (rotation lock or mute notifications), then you can lock/unlock the rotation by the switch on the right hand side of the iPad, or via the taskbar : double-click the home button; slide from the left; and it's the icon far left; press home again to exit the taskbar. If there isn't a lock symbol then try a reset : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.

If the password for your Apple ID works at id.apple.com > Manage Apple ID, then it's likely that the Apple ID the device wants you use is not the same as the Apple ID you are using.
Exactly what screen are you at on your iPhone? It sounds like it is in Activation Lock.

Just got an iPad mini and now the screen suddenly stopped working. What to do?

Got my iPad mini as a gift last week and last night the screen suddenly stopped responding [while in use]... until now. Read and tried the troubleshooting tips here and other sources (resetting, cleaning the screen, restoring from back up, etc) but nothing seemed to work. It's currently running on iOS 6.1.3 syncs with iTunes and doesn't seem to have any problem as viewed on iTunes, wasn't dropped, abused or anything. Using warranty and having it replaced will be my last resort since I'm kinda embarrassed telling the person who gave it to me that it's broken or damaged.

My screen suddenly stopped working but it still receives calls. It won't let me answer them nor reject them. My phone was working just fine 10 mins ago. It also won't turn off. Can anyone help me please.

Have you tried a reset, which is done by pressing and holding the Home button and the sleep/wake or on/off button simultaneously until you see the Apple logo and then release - ignoring the slide to turn off prompt when doing so?

My ipad screen suddenly went 2/3 black with stripes. It is unusable and I have tried to reset it. I know I am not alone with this problem and don't really want to buy a new one yet. is there a way I can see if my warrenty is still applicable. it is an ipad1 and just under 2 years old.

The warranty is one year unless you paid extra for AppleCare.
First, try a system reset. It cures many ills and it's quick, easy and harmless...
Hold down the on/off switch and the Home button simultaneously until the screen blacks out or you see the Apple logo. Ignore the "Slide to power off" text if it appears. You will not lose any apps, data, music, movies, settings, etc.
If the Reset doesn't work, try a Restore. Note that it's nowhere near as quick as a Reset. Connect via cable to the computer that you use for sync. From iTunes, select the iPad/iPod and then select the Summary tab. Follow directions for Restore and be sure to say "yes" to the backup. You will be warned that all data (apps, music, movies, etc.) will be erased but, as the Restore finishes, you will be asked if you wish the contents of the backup to be copied to the iPad/iPod. Again, say "yes."
At the end of the basic Restore, you will be asked if you wish to sync the iPad/iPod. As before, say "yes." Note that that sync selection will disappear and the Restore will end if you do not respond within a reasonable time. If that happens, only the apps that are part of the IOS will appear on your device. Corrective action is simple - choose manual "Sync" from the bottom right of iTunes.
If you're unable to do the Restore, go into Recovery Mode per the instructions here.

are both places where screen size may change inadvertantly. Use higher resolutions, but lower screen zoom.

Start the program when an external limit switch change its position

i have a DAQ card 6036E and have a limit switch.
my problem is:
when certain contact of limit switch is open, certain loop is work, and when the contact change its status the first loop stop and a second loop starts.
for details
    limit switch contact open & i press start of the program
           loop one stars which is 10V analog output
                   the limit switch contact closed
                          loop one stops and loop two starts which is (digital out + 5V analog out)

Thank you very much for your reply and i am so sorry for less details of my previous message so, here more discussion:
I control the position of a reobatic arm, at starting of the program the arm may be in any position so i must move the arm to a referance position by making a program to give analog 5V through analog output pin of the DAQ to the to the DC motor controller card to then to the motor which drive the arm, when the arm arrives to its referance position hitting a limit swich which will give a digital signal to digital input pin of the DAQ, here, my object is to stop the obove program (or loop) to stop the arm, at the same time i want to run another program or another while loop on the same program which is an LV example (control single channel.vi) (which is an PID controller program to move the arem to a desired position.

Touch Screen Suddenly stopped working

Good Afternoon, The touch screen on my HP Envy Touchsmart Notebook PC suddenly stopped working. I do not have the Tablet PC setting option available either now. All of my HID devices show as working properly. I have had Windows 8.1 for some time when this occurred, so it is not due to a recent upgrade. Additionally I am up to date with all of my installs. I have looked into your issue about your HP TouchSmart 17 Notebook with issues of the TouchScreen now working correctly. Here is a link to troubleshoot the Touchscreen. The touchscreen shouldn't need recalibration, but if you or another user has recalibrated it, it may affect the performance of the touchscreen.Here's how to check or restore the factory default calibration using a keyboard or mouse:Press the Windows logo key Type Control Panel, then use the arrow keys to highlight Control Panel, and press Enter.
In Control Panel, use the arrow keys to highlight Hardware and Sound and press Enter.
Under Tablet PC Settings use the arrow keys to highlight Calibrate the screen for pen or touch input, and press Enter.
Use the Tab key to select the Reset button, and press Enter.
If the Reset button is grayed out, your Notebook touch calibration is still at factory settings and nothing further required. Please let me know how this goes. Thanks.

Using Javascript to rasterize a layer and maintain its position with other layers.

Trying to use javascript to rasterize just the contents of a certain layer by its name.
It needs to maintain its position.
I've sort of cobbled a script, but it keeps moving the rastered art to the top layer.
Ex, top down i have Layer 4, RasterizeMe, Layer 2, Layer 1.
The rastered contents end up on Layer 4
Any help would be apprecieated, or if theres a better method of doing this.

you're adding the group to the document, it will be the top most object on the top most layer
newGroup = app.activeDocument.groupItems.add();
use this to add the group to the current layer
newGroup = currentLayer.groupItems.add();
or if theres a better method of doing this.
I would
- loop through all layers,
- hide them all, except the one you want to rasterize,
- Rasterize the document
- unhide layers

My itunes has suddenly stopped working. It was fine one moment and the next day i clicked on the icon and nothing. Keeps saying i tunes quit unexpectedly ?/ help.

Usually you get the 2330 error number when trying to install/uninstall iTunes and it normally indicates a corrupt file.
Try running a disk check to see if any errors are fixed. If it does find errors it would be worth trying a repair install of iTunes.
But I haven't seen it it your situation, usually that configuration message starts immediately after you install iTunes. It happens when Windows thinks iTunes hasn't been properly installed and auto-repair is triggered.
One thing you could try to make it go away although it does not fix the underlying problem...
Go to Program Files\iTunes and try starting iTunes by double clicking on iTunes.exe. If iTunes opens normally, try making a new desktop icon by right clicking on iTunes.exe and selecting Send to>>Desktop (create shortcut).

Is the screen-rotation lock on? If it is there sill be an icon of a circular arrow wih a padlock insid by the battery indicator in the upper right. If it is on turn it off. Otherwise try the standard fixes to rule out a software problem:
- reset
Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Restore from backup
- Restore to factory defaults/new iPod.

I have the OJ 8600Pro+, which is Air Print friendly, but if I'm not printing over my wireless network (through the router) I have to have Wirelss Direct turned on in the printer Settings. Then, it still takes six or seven tries before my iphone 5 (with IOS 7) detects the printer. With IOS 6, detection was always immediate. Once the printer is detected, the iphone remembers it until it goes to sleep. Then I have to start all over again. Maybe this is your problem.

I am having problems with my wifi on my ipad its stopped connecting, its fine with my laptop and iphone but not ipad - I want to know if I can set up by plugging in to itunes rather than manually as it wilask me to connect to wifi to set up and I cant!

You do not use a WEP password but wpa/wpa2 on router and equipment.
All equipment connects to WiFi, but for your iPad.
Even with all other equipment WiFi off, you cannot connect your iPad.
Your iPad connects to other WiFi nets correctly.
All resets etc done on iPad and Router.
Still I am not sure it is your router for sure, frustrating...
I want to test 2 other things:
1. in your iPad, set everything OFF in Settings/Cellular, turn off/then/on your WiFi, and see whether it will still not connect...
2. If that does not do it: disconnect the router as well as the modem from the power, for 15 seconds, then reconnect the modem, let it fully start, then reconnect the routet let it fully start, turn of your WiFi in iPad, then on, and see whether it will connect.

Fluid Layout - stop changing resize position when movieclip is at certain position

Hello. I have been trying things out for hours, and I still can't get it.

I added a Menu_mc on my stage. Initially, this should be at the center of the stage and when I click on it, it will tween on the upper left corner of the browser. However, when I resize the browser, the Menu_mc goes back to the center of the screen.
I have tried separating a different actionscript file where it is specifically for initialization of the object and another one for resizing. And then when I call it on my main AS file it goes like this:

Shared variable change its value with delay

Hello. My shared variable shows an old value during some time after writing a new one. What is the reason?

how to check buffering enabling for shared variables? I've attached pics of block diagrams: VirtualSpectrometer writes shared variable dLambda, and Camera reads it. And sometimes, even when VirtualSpectrometer attemp to write 0 to dLambda for the number of loop's periods, dLambda stay non-zero (to be exact +/-5.55) for a couple of seconds.
