My screen turn upside down when i open apps

i was using whatsapp when the screen suddenly change to landscape mode and refuse to return to portrait mode. awhile after that, all apps that i have which open in portrait mode become upside down. and i cant change the direction of the screen (in all apps). any help?

Open Organizer and edit its Preferences to turn off all the Media Analysis options. For good measure, disable Watch Folders, also.

I am not entirely sure what the problem is from your description. Your saying that the display is acting like it is rotated sideways when it is not and the writing appears to be backwards?

This went wrong here:
I went back and found the photos in the back up machine (25000) and dumped them on the iPhoto icon.
Never import one Library to another. Every version and thumbnail is imported like a distinct photo, you lose all your Albums, Keywords etc., the link between Original and Previews is destroyed, the non-destructive editing feature is ruined and so on. In summary: it's mess.
The ! turns up when iPhoto loses the link to the original photo.
I would suggest that you restore that library from Time Machine again, and then try repair it.
Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. (In early versions of Library Manager it's the File -> Rebuild command. In later versions it's under the Library menu.)
This will create an entirely new library. It will then copy (or try to) your photos and all the associated metadata and versions to this new Library, and arrange it as close as it can to what you had in the damaged Library. It does this based on information it finds in the iPhoto sharing mechanism - but that means that things not shared won't be there, so no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your events, albums and keywords, faces and places back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one.

My screen somehow turned upside down earlier, i couldn't find how to change it so i just reset all my settings and this fixed it. But is there a normal way to change this?

When my iPad mini is in the upright position, the screen turns upside down and I have not touched the rotation switch, it just does this on its own and I cannot get it to go back into the right position. Also, it will not let me view it in the longside "landscape" mode. Can someone please help me fix this and tell me what is going on, why is it doing this? Orientation Screen stuck upside-down and freezing

My phones home screen flips upside down when the orientation moves around then freezes in that orientation. It also happens while in the messaging app when it goes in landscape mode. They only way I can get t back to normal is by shutting my phone down then turning it back on. Help!
Im wondering if this issue is a software problem/bug or a hardware problem?

I have been having this same issue repeatedly for the past few days as well. My home screen as well as other apps like safari or messages also get stuck in landscape mode or upside down after unlocking my phone. Since this issue is not isolated, Apple needs to address it with an update if it is just a software issue. This is certainly annoying, and it is ruining my user experience.

I got a new iPad 2 for Christmas. Updated the software (iOS) to iOS 6 and then afterwards the screen turned upside down. I have done everything to try and fix and cannot get the screen unstuck.

Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.

I have an I-pad retina. Starting yesterday I noticed when playing a podcast video I could only view it with the screen in rectangular mode instead of the horizontal. First thing to try is to reset your device. Press and hold the Home and Sleep buttons simultaneously until the Apple logo appears. Let go of the buttons and let the device restart. See if that fixes your problem.

Are you using the front or rear camera? When you say they are low quality, are you referring to file/pixel size, or how the picture looks? As far as upside down, how are you holding the phone? Older versions of Windows have issues reading the Metadata from the pictures and will not display the same.

It sounds like you are having some unexpected behavior from this app you got from the app store.
I would recommend the troubleshooting in this article named:

1. Update your device software
Update your device to the latest version of iOS.
2. Check for app updates
You can setup apps to update automatically in Settings > iTunes & App Store, but make sure that your apps are up to date:
Open the App Store and tap Updates. If updates are available, tap Update All.
If prompted, enter your iTunes Store account information. App Store will then download and install the app updates.
Note: Some apps may require a Wi-Fi connection to update.
3. Install another app from the App Store
If none of your user-installed apps will launch, there could be an issue with Apple ID authorization. Download and install an app that isn't already installed on your device to reset this information. You can also remove an app from your iOS device and download it again from the App Store or sync the app from your computer.Note: If you have installed apps using multiple Apple ID accounts, you may need to perform this step for each account.
4. Restart the app
If the issue affects only a single app, try closing just that app.
5. Restart your device
Turn the device off and on.
6. Reinstall the affected app
Remove the app from your device and reinstall it:

HT1212 my ipod locked screen is upside down

My ipod locked screen is upside down and when you slide the bar to unlock it only four numbers show up like the keypad have been zoomed in to and only two of the numbers work. how can this problem be fixed? It is a 64 GB ipod, the power button works when it wants to and the statues barr is at the bottom by the square button and readable when you turn the ipod upside down

The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. Your library should be unaffected by these steps but there is backup and recovery advice elsewhere in the user tip.
If you've already tried something like the above then try opening iTunes in safe mode (press and hold down CTRL+SHIFT as you start iTunes) then going to Edit > Preferences > Store and turning off Show iTunes in the Cloud Purchases. You may find that iTunes opens normally now.
