You could try the following.
Shut down the notebook. Tap away at f8 as you start the notebook to enter Windows Recovery Console. Use the arrow keys to select Safe Mode and hit enter. If windows will load in this mode, from the Start Menu, click All Programs, click Accessories, click System Tools and launch System Restore. Pick a restore point at least 24 hours before the log-on issue and then proceed with the restore process. When complete, Windows will reboot as normal so check if you can now log in correctly.
Another option if the above does not help is as follows.
Shut down the notebook. Tap away at f8 as you start the notebook to enter Windows Recovery Console. Use the arrow keys to select 'Start Using Last Known Good Configuration' and hit enter.

I have a Toshiba Satellite L450 and I have had it for a while now and this has never happened before, when I turn it on it goes through the usual and then comes up with my name and a box for me to type my password, as normal. But when I put my password in it says:
The user profile service failed the log on
User profile cannot be loaded
The only option I have is to log off and when I do it takes me back to the password bit. If I put the password in wrong it tells me its wrong.....
Cant do anything with it, I have tried shutting down, etc....looked through the manual and cant see anything about it in there either.......... :(Hi mate

It seems to be known issue to Microsoft. You have to use the FIX posted there.

Please don't tell me to retry, or re check my information because it is all correct, it basically says u cannot use thi account due to it being connected to another device... which is my old fault iphone, at the apple store.I have never before heard of cards being locked to a single device... but your case has shown me that it happens.
If I am getting it right you try to log in to your account and it asks for billing information, and when you enter your card details it tells you that the card cannot be used. If that is the case then I'm sorry to say that my only suggestion would be to contact iTunes support directly; the contact form can be found in here: Apple - Support - iTunes Store - Contact Us -
When I open iTunes, it will not allow me to preview or download TV shows. The preview and download options are gray and will not let me view them. I have tried installing the latest Quicktime but it tells me that I have to do software update and when I do, Quicktime does not appear to need an update. I have no idea what to do
Click on your preference and check the Parental tab for possible restrictions. Open iTunes, then click the iTunes menu, select preferences after the window opens click on the Parental icon, take a look at the content restrictions section.

I am currently completing a project for college which involves the creation of a domain, OU's, GPO's etc within a virtual environment.
I am using Windows Server 2008 Enterprise running this on VMware however after having completed and tested all my GPO's now none of my users are able to log on to the domain and keep getting the following error message "The user profile service failed
the logon" "User profile cannot be loaded".
I have tried to a lot of different options prior to posting which include:
Creating a new user account/s in case the previous user policies were corrupt the same error message is shown.
I also configured my DC to allow users to log onto the DC in case this was a network issue but the same error still exists.
My Administrator account always logs onto the DC without fail and applies all the GPO's as it should.
I have rebuilt my servers twice now at this stage and the same problems keep happening at first it was just confined to users within a single OU but now is Domain wide any suggestions on what I can do.

Since this is a project, you may have experimented with various settings in multiple Group Policies, so I would recommend you run the Group Policy Modelling Wizard, as it will show you all the GP settings down to a specific user on a specific computer, plus
tell you which Group Policy sets and which settings, and thereby perhaps find where the problem occurs.

Will not allow me to change a user password
Okay this is a little different. This has gotten me a little puzzled and I am hoping someone with some knowledge about File Vault etc can help.
I have this machine where there is a user name and a password (that we can't remember) with File Vault turned on. We know the master password however the master password will not allow us to change the users password.
We have tried changing the Master Password to ensure that the password is not the issue and that was successful. We tried using the Master Password to try and change another user account (not with File Vault turned on) and it gives us no problems.
I have tried changing the password in System preferences and I get an error message CSSMERRCODE_MEMORYERROR. I tried going to the login screen letting the login attempts time out where it asks for the master password, then it prompts me to reset the password. No matter what I put in the "new" and "verify" (yes they both match) the screen just shakes and won't let me go any further.
I have repaired the permissions and tried resetting the password with the Leopard DVD and also came across no luck. Because the User has File Vault turned on I can not even back up the data so I just delete the account and re-create the user!
I am really stuck here and any help would be greatly appreciated.Okay strangely enough, I tried to reset the password back. We had an old File Vault password that we changed to the current one and then changed again during this process. So taking what you said, I reset the Master password to the original one we had a long time ago. It did not allow us to change the password. However when I changed it back to the one we had changed it to a second time, it wouldn't let me change it at the login screen but it allowed me to change it in the Account Management under System Preferences.
So it is fixed. Needless to say I disabled File Vault and it will never be used again! Thank you for your reply it definitely helped me resolve this issue. -

Remote management under Sharing will not allow me to add admin user
I have just imaged my iMac lab to Lion. I am using Apple Remote Desktop 3.5. (I have used it for several years and know how to set it up and use it.) The problem I am having is adding my admin account to the list of users that are allowed remote management through sharing in system preferences.
The user list shows every other account, but will not show my admin account. I have imaged labs each year and have never experienced this issue. Not sure where to go from here. I am able to log in to each of the systems using the missing admin account but can't add that user to authorize remote management as it isn't listed. The sytems have recently been updated to 10.7.4.
For example, I have these accounts:
Me (admin)
User 1
User 2
User 3
User 4
When I go to system prefs>sharing>remote manage and click the Add to authorize only certain users, I only see User's 1-4. The admin account isn't listed...even if I am not currently logged into that account.
*I have just updated to ARD 3.6.I can add "Administrators" under Remote Login just not Remote Management.

i have been trying to download and intsall the latest version of i tunes, however i tunes will not install because quicktime is not up to date. Mac OS will not allow me to put my computer to sleep with the power button
With my old operating system I was able to press the power button one time and it allowed me to transition to a sleep mode after downloading new operating system I am not able to do this function anymore has anyone else had the same problem or is there a known fix for this problem.
In Mavericks the behaviour changed to turning off the display.
By holding the power button for approximately 3 seconds the dialog known from previous versions of OS X shows up from where you can put your computer either to sleep, perform a restart or turn it off. -
Firefox will not allow me to download/display pdf files - wheres's the glitch
When I click on a pdf file to download it nothing, zero, happens and I have to switch to IE and start all over to get the pdf file - very incomvenient. I use Norton security software which does a few things to me that I don't like but can't find but since it does not interfere with IE I doubt that it's in Norton so must be fire fox. This is a phenomenon that has just arisen in the last few months or so
Reading PDF files is not Firefox, you can read file external to the browser or with a plugin.
The Download Window closes instantly the download finishes or may not even open at all bring it back with Ctrl+J
You are using Foxit Reader instead of Adobe Reader
make sure it is compatible with Firefox 5 if it is running within Firefox, check their site
or install Adobe Reader unfortunately it comes with Adobe Air
whatever that it, and being adobe you have to watch out for
crapware also being install, McAfee Security Scan, Google Chrome, Adobe Air -
