My screens don't work on mavericks

This is a complete disaster.  I was fine with my prior operating system.  I did the software upgrade that Mac recommended.   Now my screens don't work.  Please help.

Restore the bootable backup/clone or Time Machine backup of your previous OS.

Make an appointment with the Genius Bar at your Apple Store.  If they determine there is an issue with your iPad, it will be replaced.

  • Portege R500: login screen don't work with fingerprint

    Hello!
    I have Toshiba Portege R500.
When i used Windows Vista - i have any problem.
Now i install Windows 7 and so: if notebook was restart or shut down - on login screen of windows don't work biometric.
Only enter password from keyboard. If hibernate or sleep - all ok, biometric work normally.
    I was try Windows 7 32bit and 64bit.
    Same problems.
    Help me, pls.

    Hi
    Please check this:
+Useful information regarding file protection with the AuthenTec Fingerprint software+
    http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/kb0/TSB9C02RC0001R01.htm
The fingerprints will not be deleted by uninstalling the software.
The fingerprints are stored in fingerprint sensor flash.
You have to delete the fingerprints using the fingerprint software.
If this is not possible, then you will need to contact the Toshiba ASP technician for this job!

  • HT4085 How do I lock my ipad screen so the swipe action and side button on screen don't work? My cats do these things and the game disappears.

How do I lock my ipad screen so the swipe action and the side button on the screen do not work?  When my cats play a game on my ipad, they regularly swipe the screen and push the side button and the game disappears.

The button on the top that you use to lock and unlock or put to sleep is the power button.  The button lower center of the screen is the home button...can be used to also wake from sleep and switch to the base home screen.
Good to hear you are now able to lock rotation, even if you are not sure how you did it
If you go to the iBook icon, tap Store in the uppper left side of the screen, you can search for the iPad User Guide...a free download that will place the guide in your iBooks library as a great source of background information.

  • Iphoto don´t works with mavericks

Por qué no funciona Iphoto con el nuevo SO??
    Why?

There is a new version of iPhoto that works with Mavericks.  Upgrade it.

  • External speakers don't work with Maverick

My external speakers will not work in Maverick....internal speakers ok. Tried rebooting, unplugging external speakers from back of computer, etc.......going to "sound" in System Preferences, only "internal speakers" is listed. Had external sound PRIOR to Maverick.....

Boy, do I feel like an idiot !!!  I had the speakers plugged into the input RIGHT NEXT TO the headphone port !! I could have sworn that's where I unplugged them when I did some "housekeeping" on my desk ! I even labeled that port "speakers"............I must say though that the"output" in "sound" in sys. pref. NOW SHOWS UP AS HEADPHONES !! So SORRY for taking up your time, but you got my external speakers working, and for that I am VERY grateful !!  I guess in all your experiences you've seen it all, but................THANKS AGAIN !!!!

  • Smart groups don't work in Maverick

Smart groups don't work in Mavericky

Apparently smart list names work, but they do not show the expanded list of names to the sender. However, the recipeints do see the expanded list of names. If you Control+Click on the Smart list name in Contacts and select send email from the context menu, the sender does see the expanded list of names. This looks like an "oops" to me. I suggest you report it to Apple here.

  • Screen saver stopped working with Mavericks

    Hi,
    Actually I have two problems.
    1.  Since upgrading to Mavericks, my screen saver does not work.  How do I fix this?
    2.  Since upgrading to Mavericks my Apple menu bar at the top is no longer transparent and some times does load at start up.  I do have it set to be transparent.  If I click on a program on my dock, the menu bar will appear, but not transparent.
    Anyone else having these problems?
    Thanks,
    Dennis

To get your screen saver and sleep mode working again just follow these steps:
This is always due to a process keeping the system awake, but determining which is the challenge.
A first simple step is to create a new, temporary user account. Log out of yours and log into the temporary one. Determine if it sleeps then. If it does then you have a login item that is preventing sleep. System Preferences > Users & Groups > Login Items.
Whenever you suspect a problem related to power, including sleep, an SMC reset is also recommended.
Active Spotlight indexing will prevent sleep. Wait for it to complete. That may take several hours following an OS X upgrade.
Check your Sharing preferences for anything that could permit an active network connection.
Energy Saver "Wake for network access" can prevent sleep, but unchecking it will prevent the ability to remotely access a sleeping Mac over a network.
A normally functioning Mac will sleep according to Energy Saver, but will wake periodically for network access, after which it will return to sleep according to the settings in Energy Saver.
Check Energy Saver > Power Nap. Whatever its setting happens to be, change it. Power Nap itself does not prevent sleep, but a corrupted Power Nap setting might. Changing its setting might correct it.
Unfinished print jobs will prevent sleep. If a print job is queued, but if the printer is off or the connection to it is lost, the Mac will stay awake forever waiting for the printer to return.
Safari pages that periodically refresh themselves are very common. This will prevent sleep.
Frequently checking for new mail may prevent sleep. Change Mail's preferences to check for new mail less frequently.
iTunes and iPhoto sharing will prevent sleep.
Active Bluetooth devices will prevent sleep.
Active USB or Thunderbolt devices will prevent sleep. Disconnect them to help isolate the cause.
Using Time Machine over a network may prevent sleep. Time Machine using a Time Capsule will not.
There are plenty of third party utilities designed to prevent sleep. One may not have been completely uninstalled.
Quit the process with the name powerd in Activity Monitor. It will re-launch on its own.
Any number of "anti-virus" utilities can prevent sleep, along with other miseries. Get rid of them.
Read Mac OS X: Why your Mac might not sleep or stay in sleep mode
It may be instructive to identify the actual process that is preventing sleep. The following instructions can be used with any OS X version.
Open Terminal and Activity Monitor. Both are in your Utilities folder. Leave them open.
Open System Preferences > Energy Saver, and set the Mac to sleep after the shortest possible idle time (one minute)
Wait a minute, during which you touch nothing
When it becomes obvious the Mac will not sleep, type the following in the Terminal window, followed by the Return key:
    pmset -g
Look for the line resembling the following:
sleep     1 (sleep prevented by 360)
Note the process ID (360 in the above example). Mavericks will indicate the process name directly.
In Activity Monitor, select Window > Activity Monitor, and select the CPU tab. Click on the column with the heading "PID" to sort processes by their process ID. Find the Process Name corresponding to the PID above.
That will be the process that prevented sleep.

This is what worked for me:

    2. Restart Mac
    3. System Preferences > Sharing and recheck Screen Sharing and File Sharing
    4. Problem solved (for me anyway)

  • Mail Rules don't work in Mavericks

It seems with the update to 10.9 Mavericks Mail rules no longer work. My email address was harvested by spamers and I have been using rules to weed throught the 100's of emails that I receive each day.
Russian Brides, Vigra, Learn a new language get moved into the trash when delievered. Now nothing happens.
I just tried to write a new rule and when I clicked the Prefs pannel I got the spinning cursor. After waiting for some time I did a force quit only to find that Mail was not responding.
Anyone have any ideas? I did not see any major changes with Mail and Mavericks so I'm not sure why it's been effected.

You might condider using an Applescript with Mail Rules.
Here's one that I use (Use whitelist to not move to spam):
(Just edit to your junk or whitelist)
Note:  The Applescripit must be saved to: ~/Library/Application Scripts/com.apple.mail/
    The rule:

You need to contact Apple.  If you can show your iPad to an Apple Store Genius, you may get a new iPad on the spot.
If there is no Apple Store near you, look for an Apple Authorized Repair Center.  There may be one in your city.  In the US, <United States>.  Outside the US, <http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1434>.

  • IOS 5.1 Camera short cut home screen don't work ??

Some how I can't launch camera from Home after update to 5.1?????

Perhaps you shouldn't let people who take "any kind of questionable photos" (what does that mean?) use your phone. Cameras don't generally have passcodes on them. If you left your camera lying around unattended, people could use them to take pictures, too.
