My scrollbars disappear when resizing my LabView8.6 Block Diagram window

My design can't be seen in it's entirety within the Block Diagram window so I need to use the vertical and horizontal scrollbars to navigate the design. The scrollbars disappear if I resize the Block Diagram window past "some point". If I shrink the window very small, the scrollbars reappear. Other programs I've generated don't seem to have this problem. Any suggestions?

Check the scrollbars settings, right click on vertical/horizontal scrollbars and change the settings. If the problem still exists, U can send me ur vi, let me have a look to know the exact problem.

I have control as strict type def and many instances (on block diagram) of this control in several VIs. When I add new element in this control all instances resizes to maximum size and that corrupt layout on block diagram because all structures resizes with that instances. Is there a way to avoid that?

This just means that not many people use this feature. However, now that VIPM Professional makes it so easy to edit the palettes, I'm sure that others will start complaining that this doesn't work as they expect.

Just look up the functional specifications for this feature and see if all objects are supposed to be selected.
But seriously, is there a reason that only the FP decorations are selected? Surely this would be documented somewhere, if there was a good reason for this current (IMO, buggy) behavior.

That's not a reasonably work-around, IMO. It doesn't make sense to drop Block Diagram components onto the Front Panel. For example, this bug affects the JKI State Machine. It doesn't make sense to drop a State Machine onto the Front Panel.
So, I'd file it as a CAR/bug, and then wait to see how LV R&D feels about it. If they can find some valid reason for why Controls and Indicators shouldn't be selected, then that's fine (and hopefully someone will explain it to me).

Legend disappear when resizing graph in CVI 2009

Hi forum,
i have a problem with the graph control and the legend of a graph. I want to resize a graph by using the splitter. I attach the graph to two splitters to resize it in width and height by doubleclicking the panel. If the legend is in the range of the control, means the top of the legend is not greater than top + height of the graph control everthing is working fine. But if the top of the legend is greater than top + height of the graph the legend moves to the right, but dont moves back to the old position if the panel is resizing again.
Also there seems to be a positioning problem. If i resize the panel height to a minimum by click and hold the bottom of the panel and i do this again to a normal size the position of the second graph is not set correctly.
Please review my little source code. Maybe this happens due to an error by my side.

Resizing graphs with legends is tricky because, when you grow or shrink a graph, the legend moves depending on how it is positioned relative to the graph. Let's your bottom graph as an example:
In your bottom graph, the top legend is (just barely) below the bottom edge of the graph. In this position, when you increase or decrease the width of the graph, the legend does not move. However, if the top edge of the legend were above the bottom edge of the graph, then the legend would move whenever you changed the width. This implicit movement of the legend needs to happen so that it doesn't end up overlapping the body of the graph as the graph changes size.
This is what happens when the panel grows:
You first grow the graphs vertically (by operating the horizontal splitter). This forces the bottom edge of the graph to be below the top edge of the splitter. Then, you grow the graphs horizontally (by operating the vertical splitter). Because the bottom edge of the graph is now below the top edge of the legend, the legend is forced to move to the right.
Now this is what happens when the panel shrinks:
You first shrink the graphs vertically (by operating the horizontal splitter). This forces the bottom edge of the graph to once again be above the top edge of the splitter. Then, you shrink the graphs horizontally (by operating the vertical splitter). But now, because the bottom edge of the graph is above the top edge of the legend, the legend does not move, and as a result you no longer see it (because it's clipped by the panel's right edge)
You could fix this by alternating the order in which you operate the splitters depending on whether the panel is growing or shrinking. You could also fix it by slightly tweaking the original position of the legend (moving it up by 1 pixel would be sufficient), such that it is always above the bottom edge of the graph. Your top legend, by the way, is already above the bottom edge of the top graph. This is why you're only seeing the problem with the bottom graph.

My taskbar, at the bottom of the screen ( including start menu button) disappears when using Firefox. I am using Windows-7 and Firefox 18.0.1.

I think I mistakenly hit a keyboard shortcut when this happened. The taskbar isn't set to autohide and I am not in fullscreen either,
Any help would be appreciated in helping me return my Firefox browser back to it's original standard.

Responsive animation disappears when scaling browser window

Hi all.
I am having a problem with responsive scaling.
After integrating the animation into a responsive html page made in Dreamweaver I tested it on various browsers.
When I scale the browser window down the animation scales responsively with
the browser. When I scale it back up, it stays stuck at the same size.
If I pass the the threshold for the tablet layout, then resize it back to
the desktop size, the animation disappears entirely, requiring the page
to be reloaded to bring it back.
Has anybody else run into this problem and
if so is there a known fix?

How are you today?
It is doing it on a page I am currently working on, however I noticed that
it also does it on the last site I worked on.
Here is a link. If you resize the window down and then back up you
will see that it does not resize. The site I am working on at the moment
is structured differently, so when I pass the tablet threshold in the fluid-grid
layout the animation usually disappears when resizing back to the desktop threshold.

LabView Crashes When Editing Block Diagram

When least expected and usually at the most inopportune times the LabView 8.6.1 development environment crashes when I am editing my block diagram. It usually happens when I am moving VI's or wires using the arrow keys. This has happened to me several times. Is anyone else having this problem? Is there a bug fix out there? Attached are some of the windows error logs

There is a known issue with LabVIEW running out of memory slots in it's image table

I have experienced this issue first hand and it does make LV very unstable with crashes at the most inopportune times.
Try uninstalling those toolkits and drivers that you are not currently using. In my case 8.6.1 became completely stable after that.

Vertical ScrollBar for JTable disappears when trying to scroll!

I have 2 JTables and these are in a JScrollPane. I need to add a Vertical ScrollBar in such a way that when the number of rows increases, the scrollbar will scroll both the table's data.
I am not using the Vertical ScrollBar of the ScrollPane instead i have added a JScrollBar to the two Panes( i.e. scrollPane.setVerticalScrollBar() ). This works fine.
But when I remove the columns from the right JTable , i.e. I have only one JTable left, the Vertical scrollbar disappears inspite of the number of rows being the same.
I have tried setting ViewPortView etc. but nothing works.
Please help!

Remember that was a test. It tells us the iPhoto is essentially sound and the issue is within that main Library.
Next move is to try repair that library.
Option 1
Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Choose to Repair Database. If that doesn't help, then try again, this time using Rebuild Database.
If that fails:
Option 2
Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. (In early versions of Library Manager it's the File -> Rebuild command. In later versions it's under the Library menu.)
This will create an entirely new library. It will then copy (or try to) your photos and all the associated metadata and versions to this new Library, and arrange it as close as it can to what you had in the damaged Library. It does this based on information it finds in the iPhoto sharing mechanism - but that means that things not shared won't be there, so no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your events, albums and keywords, faces and places back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one.

I am using FLEX and trying to resize the AIR Application's
Stage - I have a desk app that I want to expand out when I change

This is a bug! I uninstalled AIR 16 and installed AIR 15.0.0.356, and there are no striped lines on window resize. What to do?
EDIT: New information:
Those lines appear and dissappear on mouse move/hover. It looks like lines disappear on "redraw region". Lines are always visible only on right side of window.

I think I found that bug is if you have smoothingQuality="high" like in:

If I set smoothingQuality to "default", then there are no horizontal lines flickering.
What got wrong with latest AIR so I have this issue?

Cant see mask when resizing in CS 6

I am trying to resize a mask in Photshop CS6 and everytime I try to scale it the mask disappears and I cant see what Im doing. Is there a setting that I need to change so that I can see it? Please see screenshots of what is happening when I try & resize.
I have the mask visible in the first screenshot. And the 2nd screenshot shows how it disappears when I try to resize.

The first screen shot shows the layers panel and image.
The 2nd shows the mask turned on and the layers panel.
If I try to scale the mask up it turns to white and I cant see it,
as I showed in the 2nd screen shot above.

When I try to save a webpage as a bookmark, the options window where I choose the folder where I will save it is disappearing when I try selecting it

Step 1. I open a web page.
Step2. I press ctrl+d.
Step3. I do not see the window where I choose the folder I wish the bookmark to be saved in.
Step4. I clicked the star button on the right corner of location bar.
Step5. I see the window now.
Step 6. When I move the cursor down that window to choose the folder it again disappears.

I want to access the options in the context menu when clicking on a dropdown list in the bookmarks toolbar, but the context menu disappears when I try to click on one of the options. How can I keep the menu from disappearing?

I have several dropdown lists in my bookmarks toolbar and would like to access the properties for some of the the items. This used to work fine. However, now, when I go to the list and place the cursor on a particular item, the context menu that is usually available on a right click disappears when I try to access one of the options. This is the menu that begins with Open. What can I do to regain this functionality? I really need the information in the Properties section. I'm using Firefox 3.6.8

Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode]] to check if one of your add-ons is causing your problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Themes).
See [[Troubleshooting extensions and themes]] and [[Troubleshooting plugins]]
If it does work in Safe-mode then disable all your extensions and then try to find which is causing it by enabling one at a time until the problem reappears.
You can use "Disable all add-ons" on the [[Safe mode]] start window to disable all extensions.
You have to close and restart Firefox after each change via "File > Exit" (Mac: "Firefox > Quit"; Linux: "File > Quit")
Also check the Mouse driver settings in the Control Panel.

And I thought the whole point of an App Tab was to always have those tabs there no matter what window is open all the time period.
It's a minor complaint but I would really appreciate the option to permanently have them there.

I thought that app tabs would be more persistent, like pinning programs to the taskbar in Windows, but this is not the case.
Instead, once you close a Firefox window, all its tabs and app tabs are lost.
Essentially, this means that the close button in the upper-left corner of a Firefox window is now a "kill all open tabs and loose all App Tabs without warning++ " button. That is not cool.
I realize that "Firefox > Quit Firefox" behaves as intended, but many people use the more obvious red close button instead of the menu to close windows on a Mac. And it is easy to forget that the red button is now also an app-tab-death button. I've lost my app tabs many times to this issue. It is an unforgiving user interface decision which hampers the usability of app tabs. Why should I go through the extra clicks of setting up app tabs if I can loose them so easily?
Ideally, App Tabs could be saved separately from the currently open windows (perhaps create an option to save then to a special Tab Group that opens on startup?). App tabs would be exceedingly useful to me if they weren't so easy to loose.
On that note, saving Tab Groups would also be a useful functionality.
++ You will get a "closing multiple tabs" warning if you have only one window open, and that one window has multiple non-app tabs open, and you have enabled the warning in Preferences. But this too unreliable to help prevent the loss of app tabs.

How do I stop a notify icon appearing multiple times... then disappear when mouse hovers over them

I have an Outlook addin which makes use of a System.Windows.Forms.NotifyIcon to display update message without requiring the user to click Okay to dismiss them...etc.
I declare and create it in the addin class (so not in start up or any other event) as:
Public WithEvents notifyIcon As New System.Windows.Forms.NotifyIcon
Then throughout in my code if I need to display a message I use notifyIcon.ShowBalloonTip. This works great, and I run it off the main thread as well as a syncing background worker thread. The problem is that when I go down and expand the
system tray, there are often many clones of the icon I use, which then disappear when I hover my mouse over them.
I understand this isn't an uncommon problem, and it happens also with new email icons in the system tray. However, is there any way I can prevent this from happening, or best practices I need to abide by?
In the Shutdown event I use:

Any help would be much appreciated, since I can't seem to find any definitive info elsewhere online.

Note: I don't actually use a windows form with the notifyIcon, I just declare it as above... not sure if that affects anything?

Would this be the same as using the Application_Quit event for the Outlook addin? Since I've
seen that in Outlook 2010 onwards it doesn't call the Shutdown event now anymore, so you need to use the Quit event of the application to do any tidy up. Maybe that is why the icons are remaining.
