My second ipod classic (120g) cannot draw in music

I have my first ipod classic (120),it work well.
Recently I boung my second ipod classic for my wife.
Both we want to use same itune library which build by my first ipod, but we want some different contents between these two ipod.
I found when my second ipod connecting with itunes, I cannot draw music in, from
itune library which make by first one.
After I upgraded itune software to 8.0.2, finally I found some musics can be drowed in, but some musics cannot.
But My first ipod always work normally.
I bring this second ipod to the two ipod shops which near my home, it shows ok, every music can be drawed in. So they told me they cannot help me.
Would you please give me some idea?

Here is so cold, nobody want to help me.
Any, I solved this issue by myself.
Some music can be draw to ipod, and some music cannot, just due to the link
betwwen musics and itune was destoried. So that if you want to draw the musics
which link destoried, it not allow you to do because it cannot link to the target music.
To solve it is quite simple, if your itune folder still keep all music fles.
If you had same issue, please follow the following step carefully.
1. Back up your itune folder to safety place, like other hard disk or folder.
* This is very important step, without it you may lost all you have.
2. Delete all music

I use an ipod classic 120G. When I try to launch itunes I first of all see a box stating "The registry settings used by itunes drivers for importing and burning CDs and DVDs are missing. This can happen as a result of installing other CD burning software. Please reinstall itunes"   This I have done. obviously I cannot burn CDs but worse still is my ipod is not being recognised by itunes and will not sync. I have not installed any new burning softeware. Any suggestions please?

I'd start with the following document, with one modification. At step 12 after typing GEARAspiWDM press the Enter/Return key once prior to clicking OK. (Pressing Return adds a carriage return in the field and is important.)

My ipod classic 160gb cannot be synced by my windows vista computer. The library is copied alright, but the ipod cannot be synced; Help! How can I overcome this, please?

    Hi, Chris,
    I mean, when I load my itune library as usual and the syncing starts, I get the problem as described as follows;
When I try to sync, I see the songs being copied then I get a message, say after about 45minutes, that, itunes cannot read the ipod contents because the ipod data drive is corrupt. I have tried different things to no avail. It is very fraustrating, and if I may say so, very disturbing.
I hope somebody can help me, for I can see now that, many people have got similar problems and they haven't been able to solve. I understand this is a common ipod problem and many people have had to abandone their ipods after such problems. It is very hurting because ipods are very expensive to buy, and so to write it off like that is very dis-heartening.

Brand new computer with Windows 8.1 will not sync to iPod Classic 120G.  Windows does not recognize anything but iPod Touch?  Is there a simple solution.  Diagnostics have run and failed to point to a fix.

Might be worth tearing down the whole iTunes install and starting over...
Go to Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs (Win XP) or Programs and Features (Later)
Remove all of these items in the following order:
    iTunes
    Apple Software Update
    Apple Mobile Device Support
    Bonjour
    Apple Application Support
Reboot, download iTunes, then reinstall, either using an account with administrative rights, or right-clicking the downloaded installer and selecting Run as Administrator.
See also HT1925: Removing and Reinstalling iTunes for Windows XP or HT1923: Removing and reinstalling iTunes for Windows Vista, Windows 7, or Windows 8
Should you get the error iTunes.exe - Entry Point Not Found after the above reinstall then copy QTMovieWin.dll from:
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Apple\Apple Application Support
    and paste into:
    C:\Program Files (x86)\iTunes
The above paths would be for a 64-bit machine. Hopefully the same fix with the " (x86)" omitted would work on 32-bit systems with the same error.

I have the iPod Classic 120G and I was listening to it and it turned off. I've tried restarting it and plugged the iPod back into the computer and it still fails to turn on. Help please?

How do I get my iPod classic 160GB to upload my music to iTunes in my new Mac Mini OS X 10.9.5?

That would be via home sharing.
Make sure  it's enabled in iTunes (file - home sharing) and Apple TV (settings - computers)
You would then access on Apple TV using the computer icon. Your computer would need to be on and running itunes

Sounds like the device's internal database is probably corrupt. If all the content is in your library simply restore the iPod. If not see Recover your iTunes library from your iPod or iOS device. The iLounge article at the end of the table at the bottom shows how to extract your media from the hidden folders on the drive.

Clearly I thought I was typing my Q in here, but it loaded into the headline.
The issue is my inability to sync songs (purchased from Amazon, and downloaded with Amazon Cloud Player) to my ipod 120G Classic.
21 songs (most recent, as I buy from time to time, but have never had this problem) will not sync to ipod, but will show up in Music files/library.
The error message is -50, and I did the step-by-step procedure to update the appleipod.bat file (?) with no success.
    This problem never occured before.
I have restored the ipod to original settings, deleted and reinstalled the songs many times and now have hours and hours into trying to simply get some new songs onto my ipod...
    HELP!!

  • Ipod Classic 120G vs. Itunes 9. Help?

Okay everyone, I have been having some difficulties with Itunes 9 as well. I have a 120G Ipod Classic that worked spectacular until I upgraded to 9. It wouldn't show up in my Itunes although in the My Computer screen I could see it. Deciding to wait it out until Apple came out with another upgrade, I just left it alone. I was just happy that my software wasn't corrupted and my music and videos were still working. That is until I upgraded yet again to 9.0.1.
I reconnected my Ipod hoping that Itunes would recognize it. And it did! I was quite happy. I was prompted to recover my Ipod and re-sync my music because it was showing up that my Ipod was synced to another library. Having used the recovery option previously, I was excited to think that everything would be fine once it was reset.
    How very wrong I was.
Although the previous problem of my Ipod not showing up in Itunes is fixed, I am now stuck with an empty Ipod. Every time I connect it to sync, I am told that my Ipod is in recovery mode and needs to be restored. No matter how many times I recover, I still get the same message.
I've tried multiple options on the forums, including renaming the driver but to no avail. When my Ipod is not connected to my computer, it looks just as it did when I took it out of the package, empty, but it works. This is after installing the newest 9.0.3
I've been open to anything that might fix this problem but I've hit a wall. I just want to be able to sync my music
    Thanks for any help!

As far as I'm aware, there is no reason why iTunes 10 would not recognise a 30GB iPod 5th generation, which is what I suspect you have. (The iPod Classic has only ever been available in 80, 120 & 160Gb capacities.)
So there is another reason why iTunes isn't recognising your iPod. Have you re-booted your computer (always a favourite option with Windows, so that's why I suggest it for your Mac) or even re-started iTunes?

  • IPod Classic 120GB cannot sync, "Required disk not found"

Somebody, please help! iPod Classic 120GB charcoal, current OS as of about a week ago (won't stay synced long enough for me to see what it is), iMac 24" 10.6.4, iTunes 10.0.1. Let me know if you need any more info and I'll try to provide it.
Everything was absolutely fine until I updated to the newest version of iTunes. Now, when I plug in my iPod, it says it's connecting then jumps straight to the "Okay to disconnect" screen. It never shows up in iTunes at all. After doing this repeatedly, I unplugged it then immediately plugged it in again before it had finished the progress bar on the "Okay to disconnect" screen, and it finally showed up in iTunes, but it gave me an error of "iPod was not properly disconnected" then "cannot sync - required disk not found" and disconnected itself again.
I tried resetting it (menu+center buttons) while it was plugged in, and this did nothing. iTunes still didn't recognize it at all.
About a week ago, I followed some instructions somewhere and toggled the "enable disk use" option (I usually keep it unchecked) then was able to restore it. The songs were added back in a bizarre order (not alphabetical, not chronological, songs within an album added out of order, jumping from artist to artist, etc.) and I had to sync it again for three random albums that it missed the first time, but once everything was in again it was fine. I haven't added any new songs or playlists to my iTunes library since then (just changed a few ratings and I like to keep track of play counts), but when I tried to sync it again this morning, I got exactly the same errors.
The only difference this time is that it alerted me that one song in my library (a song I happen to like very much) could not be synced. The song still shows up on my iPod, but will not play. It still appears and plays in iTunes on the computer.
The iPod works perfectly in day-to-day use and is a little over a year old. I take very good care of it (my previous iPod is four or five years old and still works fine) and it has never had any problems before this. It has almost 100GB worth of music (no other media, just music), which makes it pretty annoying to have to restore it more than absolutely necessary. What is going on here and is there some way to fix it that will last longer than a week?

Hi, yeah I'm experiencing the same issue as everyone else with a 120gb iPod classic using iTunes 10.1.1 (4). Started about the time of OSX 10.6.5 update and hasn't been resolved with the OSX 10.6.6 update.
iPod attempts to Sync but now quits without even appearing on the computer let alone iTunes.
I have ESET security but quitting the app doesn't help.
I also have an iPhone 3Gs and that's still syncing fine (thank heavens), via a different library.
I've since managed to wipe the iPod clean (back to factory settings) as forced to do so by following the instructions in another post to remove the iPod Photo Cache. I then moved my iTunes folder to another directory for safe keeping.
I set up a clean iTunes database thinking my old one might have been corrupted. To do this you open iTunes from scratch while holding down the option key and select "Create Library". iTunes then remembers the last library created whenever you open the app.
When I am able to see the iPod summary screen (a rare occurrence now) I see that "enable disk use" is checked ok - this has been noted as a problem in previous forums. So that's not the issue.
Actually the iPod doesn't even stay connected to my 2010 unibody MacBook Pro when the iPod is switched over to disc mode. It immediately goes into "OK to Disconnect".
So I now have a clean iPod, and clean iTunes - all empty and essentially useless!
Anybody out there with any ideas? Plllleeeeeeeese?

  • Ipod Classic 120G keeps rebooting on its own

I bought this new ipod 120g classic and it keeps on rebooting by itself randomly. This happens like around four to five times a day. When I click something it turns off and just shows that apple logo sign for a while. Is there a solution to this problem? I have done the software updates but doesnt seem to handle it

I have the same issue. My brand new iPod Classic was working fine with firmware 2.0. I just synched up and downloaded the 2.0.1 update, and the thing has rebooted in its dock 3 times in the last 20 minutes.
Model is an MB562. Thats the generation 2 iPod Classic. Its two weeks old.

  • Ipod Classic 160GB - cannot format or restore

    Hi guys,
I have a two year old 160GB Ipod Classic, which has recently stopped working. It happened pretty much out of nowhere.
First of all, all the music disappeared from the Ipod. Then, when I connected it to the PC in order to see what's up (I'm using Windows 7); it wasn't picking it up properly - a message popped up saying that Windows needs to format the drive before it can be used. I also couldn't access any files on the drive manually through Windows Explorer.
I can't restore it using iTunes either. The Ipod just isn't picking up on iTunes altogether...  - but it's weird, because whenever I plug the Ipod in, iTunes opens itself automatically as per usual, but it's not actually registering the device, if that makes sense... All I see are my playlists and stuff, but nothing about an iPod actually being plugged in...
Also, I have noticed that in Memory Settings on the Ipod itself it says that there is 0kb free space (despite there only being about 15GB filled)...
I tried using Windows to format the device, but it didn't get anywhere - All I got was a message saying that Windows could not complete the format.
I have researched this thoroughly on the internet, but really couldn't find anything helpful.
I read something about using Windows to format Ipod devices being a bad idea, because of the FAT32 files used by such devices, so I downloaded a separate program recommended on another site called 'Fat32 Formatter', but that wasn't able to format it either.
On top of that, I now started having a problem with the hold button - basically, the Ipod is constantly locked, as if the hold button was on, but it isn't. I read about this being a fairly common issue, but still, it means I can't even try disc mode anymore.
If anyone has any ideas, that'd be greatly appreciated.

i too need help with this, i have exactly 137 videos, but it only syncs 106 of them, and then when i try to resync it, it actually took a few off! needless to say i am frustrated because i want to be able to watch all of my shows and stuff! hopefully apple will give us another fix soon (hear that apple! we gave u money now give us a working product!) any help is apreciated, oh ya, and i made a playlist with all the videos once, and then they all synced up which was fantastic! but then that one broke and i got a new one, and that doesnt work for this one for some reason... go figure, and this is all on a 160 btw, thanx

  • Ipod classic 120g not showing captions

I am using 6th gen ipod classic (thinner version.) My firmware is 2.0.1.
I am having problems that my captions (subtitles) aren't showing up in videos. They show up in iTunes but when I sync them, nothing goes on.
I enabled captions in iPod settings but still no luck.
I tried both Handbrake and iSubtitle for creating captioned video, both of them work in iTunes but not working in iPod. (and yes, I have tried switching between captions and subtitle options.

I have the same problem on my iPod Classic (3rd Gen firmware 2.0.4) since last system upgrade. Before it my iPod was able to play movies and show subtitles.
I have many movies converted for my iPod with soft subtitles, I've done it with Handbrake and in the past with another commercial program: on my iPhone 3GS (last firmware) subtitles work, on my iPod Nano (fatty) subtitles work on my iPod Classic subtitles worked!
The strange thing is that also iTunes has a strange behaviour about subtitles now. As matter of fact, now I can't enable (or disable) the subtitles (using menu or button on floating interface) while if I open the movie using Quicktime X or Quicktime 7 I can. It's very strange and annoying.
I already tried to restore firmware, to re-install iTunes, to repair authorizations but nothing, it's always the same.
I try to find clue googling around and I read about other users with same issues and in a forum someone said "Starting in 10.6.7, iTunes uses a AVFoundation to play movies instead of QuickTime, so there are some new bugs."
Maybe he's right but I really don't understand why and how this AVFoundation can affect on my iPod Classic.
Please, is there some Apple Guru that can explain us, how we can solve this issue?
