My send button and my chat buttons are ghosted

Hi my send button on my emails and my chat button are ghosted so I cannot send emails  Thank you for your time  Pat

and it has downloaded my photos
Does this mean your photos are now in the library?  If not then downloaded to where?
Make a duplicate copy of the library and try the following:
1 - delete  the iPhoto preference file, com.apple.iPhoto.plist, that resides in your Home/Library/Preferences folder.
2 - delete iPhoto's cache file,, Cache.dbt, that is located in your Home/Library/Caches/com.apple.iPhoto folder.
3 - reboot, launch iPhoto and try again.
NOTE: If you're moved your library from its default location in your Home/Pictures folder you will have to point iPhoto to its new location when you next open iPhoto by holding down the Option key when launching iPhoto.  You'll also have to reset the iPhoto's various preferences..

After years of owning all things Mac, I am finally trying to use iChat, and can't get it to work. I am using gmail, and I see my buddy (no camera icon next to her name), but all I can do is send a message--the video and audio chat icons are gray, as is inviting to a video chat under Buddies. My buddy has the same problem as I.  We are able to do video chat through gmail, but I had hoped to use iChat.  I am using OS 10.6.8, iChat v. 5.0.3.  What am I missing?

    HI,
iChat will Video chat to another iChat in a Jabber Buddy List (Google run a Jabber server for GoogleTalk)
However it will not Video to the Web Page login to iGoogle or the Web Mail Page login.  (where people can Google Chat as it were in a  Web Browser).
Nor does it video to the Google Talk Stand alone app for PCs or any other Jabber apps on any platform.
iChat uses a connection Process called SIP (Session Initiation Protocol) which is also used by other VoIP devices.
Jabber/XMPP invited the Jingle Protocol for Jabber Applications.
Google have included this in their Standalone app and the Plug-in for Web Browsers on both PCs and Mac (you can get this as a Standalone Plug-in or as part of Chrome)
More on this here  This article has been changed several time in the recent months.  It now claims a greater involvement by Google in writing the Jingle Library (Although now Google's version does not work with the others)
This tends to mean that using the web Login to Google to Chat also cannot video chat to other Jabber apps that are using Jingle.
If your Buddy is using iChat then check the Video Menu has two items to Enable Camera/Video chat and Microphone/Audio chats are ticked.
In the View Menu the Show Status Items should be ticked (Selecting them toggles the tick and the function On or Off)
It could be Internet speed but at this stage I would doubt this at this stage.

  • When I send email and attach photos, those are been randomly resized, without asking and I can't resize them back to the original size on the screen and on the email, even if I select them and click on "LARGE SIZE" images on the right top box of the email

By the way, I've tried to look for the Attachment Tamer box, between the Mail Prefferences but it doesn't even show me this option. So I can't do it.
    I'm using a MacPro.

I thought that originally too, but that's all changed with the pool of apps that are out there now. So now what I'm trying to do is to prove that technology is progressing to the point where a tiny, handheld phone can produce images that are nearly as good as photos taken with much more expensive and bulky equipment. I've got my share of expensive bulky camera equipment, but I'm finding that I'm having much more enjoyment out of using my iPhone from initial capture, to editing, to publishing, and achieving results that are nearly as good.
I do think you're working under a bit of a handicap. For example, lens quality. Here's an iPhone photo example of some wild turkeys in the neighborhood masked by flare that would be much better controlled on an SLR lens (click to enlarge - the flare is obvious, the turkeys are not):
At the same time, working under a handicap can definitely spur creativity, similar to the oft-cited example of swapping out your zoom lens for a prime to force yourself to pay attention to composition.
It's an interesting concept - I wish you luck!

  • When sending long e-mail, top bar containing the send button goes out of sight, how to send in this situation?

While typing long NEW e-mail, as the text grows the window moves up and the SEND button disappears below another toolbar at top of screen. How do I send an e-mail when the SEND button is not accessible? I cannot pull the window and send button area down enough to enable the curser to activate it.

Firefox doesn't do email, it's strictly a web browser.
If you are using Firefox to access your mail, you are using "web-mail". You need to seek support from your service provider or a forum for that service.

  • Send Task and Receive Task

In our beta test, we came upon several issues, one of them is when we create a BPMN process that consists of the following simple flow: Start -> User Task 1 -> Send Task -> User Task 2 -> Receive Task -> User Task 3 -> End
When we deploy and run the flow, it always stops at the Receive Task. But when we remove User Task 2 from the flow and redeploy and run, the process runs fine all the way to the end. I am wondering if this is a bug in BPM 11g where if you put an activity between Send Task and Receive Task, it does not work, but when you do not have a task between Send Task and Receive Task, it works fine. Can someone confirm this scenario please?
Within the Send Task and Receive Task, we are invoking a BPEL process that has a simple asynchronous service. The Send Task invokes the BPEL process, and the Receive Task has the callback to the BPEL process.
    Makes sense?
    Thanks.

What does the bpel process do? Does it work with a synchronous bpel process?
I think you should submit an SR for this since it works when there is no activity between the send/receive.
    Heidi.

  • What are the color values for imessage and send buttons?

I am trying to paint my room. Does anyone know the specific colors of the 'imessage bubble' or the 'send' button on the iPhone, iPad, iTouch. The RGB or Hexidecimal values would work. Thanks!

Use the DigitalColor Meter app located in your utilities folder. This will allow you to hover over areas of your screen and it will display whatever type of values you want it to.
Translating this into a paint chip number at the hardware store might be a bit of an issue though. There is no method (at least that I'm aware of) to translate computer color codes to paint swatches.

I have often sent pdf or other files with adobe by email with no problem.
this file it said was too big so I'd have to upgrade to send it.   so I upgraded it.  I followed all the instructions, email, etc, etc, and its' ready to go but there is no SEND button.  how do I sent my file?

Are you still experiencing a problem with Adobe Send?  We inadvertently introduced a problem earlier today (now fixed), but you reported your issue was last night.
    Anyway, can you check again?

  • I can't send messages on my iPad? The send button is not lit up and the addresses I put in showp with a res a mark.  How to I get this to work

I cannot send any messages from my iPad.  The send button is not lit up.  My setting are on.  When I put the address in it comes up in red with an exclamation mark

Delete the account, then re install it on the device.  You will need to get the passwords exactly right., and there are some other settings that matter, such as send and receive server names, and sometimes a specific port.  If you are not sure, check on the web for ' email settings' for your particular provider.  What probably happened is that when you changed your password, some other setting got tweaked.

  • How do you make imessage work? The icon is there. You can type in the recipient but are not allowed to hit the send button

How do you make imessage work? We upgraded to verision5. The icon is there. You can type the message but the send button is not available.

There is some instability in  iMessage.  It is a versatile and confusing app even though there are so few options in its use.
I had issues trying to get iMessage work on both my iPads and my iPhone.
ON the iPhone, turning off WiFi service and then trying iMessage fixed the problem.
On the iPad 2, same thing.  Turning off WiFi service fixed it.
On the iPad 1, I took a suggestion from zoomzoom and changed the WiFi network configuration on the iPad to use 8.8.8.8 as a DNS server and then use iMessage.  That fixed it.   Now I put the DNS back to default and it still works.
I suspect the iPod Touch will have the same fix as the iPad.
If you have a WiFi and 3G iPad or iPhone, try turing off WiFi and see if that fixes it.
Why?  (beware, some of this is guesswork)
iMessage can talk SMS to cellphones and smartphones (that are using the cell-network).  It can also talk Apple iMessage format to iPhones and iPads whether they are on cell-network or on WiFi.  If you are talking to an SMS cellphone, iMessage figures that out and blindly sends your message.  If you are talking to a iOS5 device, iMessage figures that out too, checks to see that they are on-line, and then does something different if they are or are not on-line.  If you type in an email address, and not a phone number, I think iMessage attempts to see if the email address is registered with Apple (or iCloud or whatever) and if it is not, it does something to let you know, possibly by making the Send button not light up.
In order to register iMessage and an email, you have to let the iOS device see whatever service it is that iMessage uses.  That is where the problem happenes.  zoomzoom suggested manually setting the WiFi DNS to google's 8.8.8.8 IP address, then run IMessage, and that seemed to fix the problem.  Setting the iOS device to use 3G-only (by turning off WiFi) also fixed the problem.  I suspect going down to StarBucks or McDonalds and using their WiFi would also fix the problem.  Once the problem is fixed, it doesn't seem to come back so I can't test these 'fixes'.
To change the DNS on your iPad find your WiFi networks configuration, click on the blue arrow, touch DNS, backspace over the number that is shown, type in 8.8.8.8    Then click on the WiFiNetworks button at the top of the screen.  Now go run iMessage.  After that, you can delete the DNS entry again and leave it blank.  Your iPad will fill it in from the WiFi router when it needs it.

    Hello iMessage issues 1234,
Thank you for the details of the issue your daughter is experiencing with sending messages on the iPad.  It sounds like you might have the Subject Field turned on. To disable this go to Settings > Messages > Show Subject Field.

Can anyone help me with this?

Ahrenshof: Thank you for your suggestion:
    ((preferences>audio>devices  (re-select your input source) ))
I already had that done IE. I had duet already chosen as input and output etc etc.
The problem seemed to be the issue that was addressed by Eriksimon:
    (( ctrl-click the track Header.))
Following that advice gave me a drop down menu which allowed the various buttons to be
    checked and unchecked.
Thanks so much for taking the time out to
help with my problem. It seems to me that
this formum is far better equipped to handle
user's problems than any or the options that
are available on the acual Logic help menu.
It appears that Logic has been put
together by techies who, (though they
may be brilliant at computer software issues), then have
virtually no skill or imagination with regards explaining
how to use it, to the actual users.
I have a PhD in Egyptology. I mention this not
because I think it a particularly brilliant acheivement
but just to indicate that I am not a total dummy.
More to the point I find using Logic needlessly tiresome
and the explanations that are given in the "Help" menu
are nothing short of tragic. Perhaps Apple could start to give
out free ropes or razor blades to everyone who buys the program.
Not to say it is not much better that the other junk out there, it is,
the sorry fact is that that is not saying much at all.
I send sincere thanks to all the users out there who support

Here are a couple of ideas:
    1. (my favorite) - connect the printer to the router with an Ethernet cable for virtually the same functionality, more speed and fewer connectivity issues.
    2. Reset by turning the printer off, holding # and 6 keys while and for a few seconds after turning it back on.

What device OS level do you have (all 4 octets)?
    What carrier are you with?
How, exactly, did you configure these email accounts?

  • We have completely lost the SEND function in Thunderbird. We are not offline. There is no SEND button or send option anywhere. Where did it go?

The send function has completely disappeared. The "send later" function also is gone. We have checked every possible option on the menu bar and "send" has vanished.
The forward and reply buttons are visible. If you select an email and hit forward, the email pops up for you to add a message, but there is no way to send it. Ditto for reply.
Also, we are unable to get the now hidden menu bar to show. Pressing the ALT key does not work. Neither does "right-clicking on an empty section of the tab strip" as Mozilla instructs.
We have made no changes to the Mozilla software, made no updates or downloads. One day, the send function was simply not there.
Any help or assistance would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

That worked. Thank you so much!
