My daughter and I have separate windows logins on the same computer. We both use Firefox. Today, when my daughter logged off and I logged on, all of my settings (persona, bookmarks, history, etc) were gone and replaced with hers. My settings are correct in Internet Explorer but Firefox and Thunderbird are using her settings all of the sudden. How do I get my settings back? I have lost all of my emails and everything.

You have something else on that PC that keeps installing that Yahoo crap, it sure as hell isn't Mozilla. Google is and always has been Mozilla's partner for search engines.

No such thing has occurred. iPhones do not backup to one another.
It is not possible to backup a different iPhone from the one being updated.
If the iPhone was restored with a backup from a different device, restore it again from the correct backup.

Pay attention when restoring the iPhone and select the correct backup to restore from.

What exactly are you seeing on the phone's screen ? If the iTunes icon and cable then the phone is in recovery mode, in which case it's too late to take a new backup or to copy any content off the phone - you will have to connect the phone to your computer's iTunes and reset it back to factory defaults, after which you can restore to the last backup that you took or just resync your content to it

I tried it and nothing changed. Even when I right click on an indiviual image all it does is duplicate it. Iphoto seems to be recognizing my external hard drive as an editor......cannot get photoshop except to drag a picture into photoshop from iphoto, and once I have worked on it and saved it to iphoto I cant find it anywhere.

If you had a passcode on the phone when turning on Lost Mode, lost mode is supposed to use that passcode to lock the phone. When found, entering the passcode should unlock the phone. I'm assuming that's what you're trying to do, correct? However, if the phone is now saying it is "Disabled"...after too many wrong passcode attempts, then you have no choice but to restore the phone. Once disabled, you won't get another attempt to enter the passcode.

Buy the songs that your friend put on the iPod that you liked. They had no right to give you the copyrighted music when they sold you the device.

Was using flags in the split view applying flags to images regardless of selection. Flag would appear under cursor. Suddenly they now are only visible when and in the large window. How do I get this capability back. It is very useful.

I have been using flags conveniently when using the split view flagfs would appear under the cursor in the filmstrip view. Now they only are visible when a single image is selected and not in the film strip. This very convenient feature has suddenly and unexplanedly been lost. How do I get it back?

How are your metadata settings? For me the flags are still showing. Perhaps you have disabled the flags for the Browser view. Edit your Metadata Presets for the Browser:
Enable "Show Metadata" for the Browser and Viewer, and then click "Edit" and eanble the flag for all Metadata views.
For the Browser you need to edit the "Grid View" settings, expanded and Basic:

This can be caused by Facebook gadgets. You can try removing Facebook gadgets until you find the culprit. I have seen reports of various gadgets causing this such as Ginga, Facebook for iGoogle, Deal of the Day and Smiley

It's a bit confusing for many people, but iTunes doesn't really store the contacts. It's just used as a conduit to third party contact programmes, such as Outlook on a PC. IF you were using Outlook (or a similar, supported programme) all is good.
If you were't using something like it, the contacts are gone.

Hi, Yes you are correct in iPhoto Prefernces, Advanced tab editing I used to have iPhoto and "Use external editor.". It changed to iPhoto and iPhoto Library. I have einstaleed PSE 9 and downloaded the update. There is still no lkink to external editor in the drop down box. There are three kinds of "stuff" on your machine:
• Mac OS X - System, Library, and the standard Applications, and the hidden unix files
• Applications you added - these will mostly be in Applications, maybe a few in Utilities
• User files: These will be ONLY in the subdirectory off /Users with your login name -- nowhere else..
There are two kinds on "getting rid of it". Tilde ( ~ ) represents your username.
• I am keeping my machine under my control, I just don't want that stuff in my face.
For this, you can drag the contents of a few folders inside you Users folder to the Trash.
1) /Users/~/Documents
2) /Users/~/Downloads
3) /Users/~/Pictures
4) /Users/~/Music
5) /Users/~/Movies
• I am changing this machine to different ownership, and I want that stuff unrecoverable:
The most secure is to completely erase the Hard Drive and choose security option Zero out data, one pass. This takes several hours. You will then have to re-Install Mac OS X and any Applications you added.
Slightly less secure is to erase what you want to get rid of, then "Erase Free Space" with overwrite with Zeroes, one pass. Take somewhat less time, but there is a tiny possibility something might get re-used before it gets over-written.
