My site is gone apparently - WWYD?

I posted below that when I upgraded iPhoto it for some reason corrupted my entire iWeb site. I lost my templates, texts, photos. Support did a DataCapture and they're trying to figure out what happened and trying to retrieve data from my Domain file, but they said not to keep my hopes up and I should start rebuilding the site now.
I do not have a backup - I know - DUMB!
I do have an older version on mac.com still I think. Does that help me?
It is also published to machighway.com so I have the html code.
Since iWeb is really frustrating with not allowing you to publish very easily, doesn't allow you to change templates, should I start fresh with another software? If yes, which one? WWYD?

My real question this morning after sleeping on it is that I need to upgrade to a more "business friendly" website software. Now that I have to rebuild the site anyway, I might as well do that now.
Which website software is easy, I can change templates and I can upload only changed pages? Converting from iweb would be a plus since I have all of the html code from my site.

Most Visited is an automatically generated list that shows sites that you've visited.<br />
If you delete the history of a site then you have with a visit count of zero.<br />
To make that site reappear in that you you will have to visit that site often enough to make the visit count match the other sites in that list or clear the history from other sites in that list.
You can make the Visit Count column visible in the History Manager to see how many times you've visit sites.

All site definitions gone in DW CS4

I'm using CS4 on a Mac running OS10.5.6. I accidentally removed one site, went into Time Machine and recovered it, then next time I started up CS4 ***all*** my sites are gone -- some 30 sites. I still have CS3 running (I have to support others here at work with older versions), so I can go and export some of the sites from CS3, but there are still many sites that were only built in CS4. Any idea on how to get these back? Is there a file I can restore from Time Machine that might contain that? I read the previous posts regarding missing site definitions, but they refer to the PC registry - not a solution for a Mac user. Help! Thanks for any suggestions.

Where have Site Profles gone

I have MX and I am stunned that all my defined sites have
gone from the right side panel.
Are they normally stored in a separate data file ? If so what
would it be and where would it be.
If not, what could be the cause of this?

dreamweaver stores the site definitions in the Registry file.
If the registry file is "flaky" or if the box is unplugged
before updates to
the Registry file are done, the site definiton info can be
wiped.
there's a third party tool for windows that will let you make
back up files
of the site defintions.

"Top Sites" capability GONE after upgrading to Safari 4.0.3

In a nutshell:
I've been running Safari 4.X June 09 with Top Sites becoming a key tool in everyday use, and a cool one at that. Top Sites worked on 15 August, did the minor rev upgrade from 4.02 to 4.03 on 16 August, and the Top Sites function is GONE on the 17th.
The rest of the story:
Upgraded to Safari 4.0.3 last night and to my dismay the TOP SITES function is now just GONE. No explanation, no warning, just "poof."
Read through the discussions, read through the support pages, took the immediate advice to reinstall...then tried the instructions for deleting select files under under com.apple.safari...et cetera...No Joy, 2 hours lost.

So Let me get this straight...I accept a minor rev upgrade, from 4.0.2 to 4.0.3, and LOSE functionality? Really, guys?
I lose the functionality, apparently, because the Intel GMA 950 is apparently not Quartz Extreme compatible.
Ok, then, riddle me this Batman: the support article above is dated June 2009. I've been running Safari 4.X since then with top sites working quite well under 4.0.2. My early adopted 2006 Mac Mini hasn't changed since it's manufacture.
What's going on? What am I missing? Anyone else seeing this?

Does your iMac have an Intel GMA 950 chipset? If not, then your comparison is not valid. If it does have the same chipset as my Mac Mini, then you may have eliminated a possibile cause. (same os + same chipset=reasonable assumption)
The central issues is still the loss of major functionality under a minor rev change.
What changed? The requirements for Top Sites to work? Then why did it work for me under 4.0.2? According to the article, Inel GMA 950 is not specifically named as supportable and therefore the function should not have worked at ALL when safari 4.0 was installed. NO Mac specific drivers from Intel at Intel's web site. Have NOT seen any under the apple support pages, but I could be missing them.

I NEED Firefox 3.6.25 for my MacBook Pro. The ftp site is gone. How can I get it? I can't upgrade because of my processor.

The night that Firefox apparently stopped distributing Firefox for Mac 3.6.25, I had a computer crash that corrupted my copy of 3.6.25. I tried to go to the FTP site to get another copy to reload (using Safari) and the FTP site is apparently gone and Firefox will not let me download that version of Firefox. I'm limping along on Safari and can't update even my corrupted version of 3.6.25 because my processor won't support further updates. I NEED 3.6.25! Is there anyplace that I can get it? What can I do? My corrupted version of Firefox 3.6.25 doesn't work correctly. It opens improperly and doesn't work when it does open.

I assume that you mean that your bookmarks are gone.
This can be a problem with the file places.sqlite that stores the bookmarks and the history.

IWeb (08) and Multisites - My Site is Gone

Downloaded and opened Multisites and launched iWeb(08) and my "site" on iweb (08) was gone. The site is still up and running on .mac and the web.
Found domainfile in Documents but when I click and open it fron my desktop I still just get a "new site" in iweb (08). I tried that a few times. Have I completely lost the original by opening and reopening mulitsites and iweb.
I have all my files, archives etc still on my drive just no domain file.
I had also emptied my trash and in this maybe my problem.
Thanks in advance for any help that you are able to supply.
Frustrated and not looking forward to maybe rebuilding my site..

You do not need any of those apps to manage your domain.sites2.
1) You can double-click on it to start iweb.
2) Domain.sites2 does not have to be named as such, they can be named anything as long as you keep .sites2 extension:

Making a new domain.sites2 is quite important, and a few of you here know that you can not merge your domain.sites2.
And the reason is iWeb2 is loaded with UUIDs and when you duplicate an existing domain.sites2, you will have problems.
Who here wants to know about UUID and iweb?

IWeb Site Just Gone! Can I import the HTML info???

Not sure how, but iWeb no longer shows my website in the organizer. I tried looking for the domain file and it's gone also. I know I was saving every 30 mins. Just gone. I do have the folder that I published too. When I open the index.html file the site loads like it should. But I can't do anything in iWeb. I really don't want the last 3 days of work to be a waste.
Please Help.

Did you happen to upgrade or create the site in iWeb '08 and then try to open from another drive or partition in '06? '06 does not open '08 domain files. That's the only explanation I can think of for the "disappearance."

Every time i close Dreamweaver CC, all my sites are gone

everytime i open Dream Weaver, i have to reimport all my sites.
I have tried syncing to the cloud, it appears to do so, there are xml files in my cloud folder in my appdata folder, but nothing seems to work

I guess that you will have to sync all your sites once to the cloud and then things should start to work as normal
Here is what I suspect is the case
You have all your sites in DW
In the cloud there are no sites
You work with DW and relaunch DW
Things get synced from the cloud and all your sites are all gone
So try out the below steps
Have all your sites set up in DW
Sync them all to the cloud
Try relaunchinG DW
Also Check if you have enabled Automatic Sync in Edit >Preferences>Sunc Settings

Updated to '08 old site now gone?

I got the update to iLife '08 to work with 24-bit files in GarbageBand and some other things. I was also, under the old iLife that shipped with my MacBook Pro, working on a web site. With the old iWeb i could just launch the application and the web site would come up and i could work on it. Now when i launch iWeb '08 i get nothing but the theme chooser doohicky suggesting that it cannot find or cannot open my old site?
huh? How can get get my old site back? There is a lot of text in there that i need.

yep it is gone... woo~ i seriously don't know how or why iWeb would blow away your old Domain.sites file .... anyway ... i found a reasonably recent backup. .... so problem solved.

Site Definitions Gone

Hello All,
I launched DW CS3 today and my site definitions have all disappeared. They were their last week and for months before that, but when I launched today, all of them are gone. I haven't done any updates to my machine recently that would have effected this as far as i know.
1. What could have happened?
2. How can I get DW to see my preferences or what ever it needs to "re-connect" to my site definitons. I'm running Mac OS 10.5.6 on a new'ish 24" imac.
Any and all help is really appreciated since I have pretty much all my connections data in the site definitions.

Web site icons gone

I am setting up a new computer with newest v of Firefox and Windows 7.
Went to most used web sites (Home Depot, Sears etc) r clicked..pin to toolbar and they were all there. Very Happy. This morning, turned on the computer and they were gone.
What happened? How do I not lose them again?

Thank you for your speedy reply. I fouond the webpageicons.db file in the Safari file in the Libarary but once accessed asks me what software do I want to use to open it. So I chose MSWord and got the following odd message

Private/Authenticated site : graphics gone

Any issues with iTunes U servers? I can access my private/authenticated site as as admin and regular user, but all images are gone and replaced with a broken link graphic.

One problem with this site may be that I added a Site Redirect (maybe incorrectly). But with the Admin console gone, I can't fix it.
It also doesn't explain why our second site has disappeared.
How do I get our old Admin URL back if I accidentally added the redirect (dualenrollment.bethelu.edu)?
