My skype doesn' t work

I just can't make or responde to any call. When i press answer with video somethink stops the comunication. The message I get is this: "problem with the recording device".
What can I do?

Please follow these Steps:
1. Only do Step 1 if you are on WIN7:
Stop Skype.
Be sure that Compatibility Mode is not enabled (right-click on Skype shortcut icon/launcher and select Properties >> Compatibility) - for Windows 7 users only.
Try to launch Skype.
2. If Step 1 fails or you are NOT using WIN7 do:
Open an Internet Explorer browser, and go to msn.com, what happens?
If it fails, Please do the instructions below. Using your Windows Control Panel, please do:
Internet Options -> Advanced Tab Please click the "Reset" button.
Then, Go to the Connections Tab.
Make sure that the only checkbox checked is "Automatically detect settings", then click the "OK" button.
Close any open Internet Explorer browser windows, open a new IE browser window and try msn.com again. What happens? If it works, please stop/start Skype What happens?
3. If Step 2 fails do:
Please install the beta version using the instructions below:
You can install the Current beta release by doing this from the top of this page:
Get Skype -> Windows -> Choose the beta release, please do NOT remove what you already have installed, simply, install over.
These instructions have worked for many and is the quickest thing to try to resolve issues such as this.
Also, what operating system are you on?
What is the Make and Model of your computer?
Do you have all Windows updates and updates to any hardware devices by the manufacturers?

Hi! Four weeks before Skipe was working on my computer on Windows 7 ultimate properly. After next update to version 6.6 it's stop working. After start Skype appears blank window and nothings happend for more than 20 minutes. I've read posted messages here and recommendations. Skype doesn't work on LTE

I'm using an iPhone 5.
Skype app works definitely well on WIFI. However, when shifted to LTE network (without WIFI), it doesn't show ONLINE CONTACTS and I couldn't receive or make a skype calling even my status is ONLINE.
I tried to reinstall the app on my phone, and reboot my phone etc. But it just didn't work.

Same here. Android 5.0...when on LTE it just rings forever and the British lady never comes on to tell me there's no answer. App only works on WiFi. When they call me they get the lady but I'm never notified I get the call. Speed test indicates I was getting 8 Mbps

I'm trying to call Iceland Air - I have my cell number as the caller ID and is verified, but I never get through. I can get through just fine with my cell. I am wondering if the +1 in front of my cell is throwing things off? Or is there a setting that makes Skype hangup when it gets a recording like you do at airlines. However, this doesn't happen other times. but is very consistent with this number.
In another problem, sometimes when calling local numbers, skype just quits - the whole program, over and over. It is inconsistent with the which number, but I get the message "skype has unexpectedly quit..."

It is possible that Icelandair is not allowing calls from Skype callers to their toll-free number, or from wherever Skype patches their calls into the US telephone network. I found their US toll-free number on their web site, and could not get through either. Those with toll-free numbers in the USA and Canada can define who they receive calls from, since those individuals and organizations are paying for receiving calls to the toll-free numbers. Other than trying to find another non-free number for them (I didn't see one in the US on Icelandair's web site, but there are some in other countries), that is one that may only work from a US landline or mobile phone.

Skype doesn't work correctly with my IP

I have a problem with Skype during last month with my IP address. (Of course, I use last version on all of my platforms).
One of my account which I use on Windows 8.1, after connecting shows my status like "Offline" (icon rolling "Connectiong..."), all of my contacts show as "Offline", and though I can sent and obtain messages, I can't make a call and see who is online.
This account I use only on Win 8.1.
I use my second account on Ubuntu, Android and iOS.
On Ubuntu I even can't connect to Skype servers - after a while I obtain "Skype can't connect".
On iOS and Android my second account works like first account on Win8.1 - I can sent and obtain messages but I can't make a call and see who is online.
Didn't help turn off antiviruses, firewalls... Yesterday my IPS changed me IP for checking, and with this IP all worked correctly. ONLY AFTER THAT.
What's wrong O_O ?

Skype doesn't work with Yosemite

I recently upgraded to Yosemite.
When trying to login to Skype I get the message - "Skype can't connect". I have the latest version of Skype.
Fortunately I have my original OSX - Snow Leopard - on another partition of the hard disk, where Skype works perfectly.
Anyone any ideas??

I think Skype didn't upgrade the application for OS X Yosemite support. I expect this in a few weeks.

I've uninstalled and reinstalled skype twice, I've opened a new account (now have three) and nothing seems to work. What is the issue and how do I fix it please? Skype doesn't work with OS X Yosemite - does not a...

I recently upgraded to OS X Yosemite - terrible OS I highly discourage anyone use it. It's caused all kinds of compatability issues with various software.
Logging onto skype works for about a minute then I get forced into offline mode and cannot change my status or call anyone. I've tried rebooting the internet, rebooting skype and reinstalling but nothing has worked. It appears to be some sort of bug issue. My internet connection also gets killed sometime while using skype.
Please fix. The new OS has been out for a while now. No excuse to be several months late fixing a bug.

Had perfectly settled, working Skype on Windows 8.1 (Pro) config Upgrade to Win 10 (release). Skype client won't log in any more.> It's not account details - I can log in on the WEB on the same machine.> Completely un-installed Skype following help instructions. Re-install. Client fires up, accepts username/pwd, but won't log in - spinning circle.> other apps needing internet are working fine (Edge browser, Chrome). I can't find any tools to help me diagnose what's going on. Really important app for me - help welcome!

I tried the app data, rename old file. At first it looked like it worked, but then right back to spinning balls. But almost as important it WOULD NOT let me sign in with my Skype ID. It would only let me sign in and then create a new ID associated with my Microsoft (old hotmail) e-mail. Obviously that is not what I want. So hopefully it works for you, but deleteing the %appdata% user file clearly isn't fixing the root issue. I have checked my firewall and Skype is allowed. Same Bitdefender settings that used to work. Also, in re-starting it several times, Skype now wants two factor authentication everytime I sign in!!!! Obviously, that is a huge time waster. Spent hours searching the interwebs as we use Skype for business communications. What I have found is it is clearly the early August update to Windows 8 and 10 that broke it. There are no for sure fixes that I have found. Mostly check your firewall and then the rename your user data file as above, and few or no reported cases of sucess. Hope someone takes this seriously at Skype, we are down on a critical business use for Skype for a few weeks, starting to feel been sold a bill of goods.

Everytime I attempt to call someone or do something on my Skype a message pops up saying there is a problem and they will message me if there is a solution and nothing has happened. This occured about 3 hours ago. It also logs me in immediately instead of me typing in my password. Help!

Skype no longer working on my pc

I have been away for several weeks with PC switched off and when I returned Skype was no longer working on my PC. I still had the Skype icon on my desk top but all I get is " Windows can't find C:\Program Files (x86)\Skype\Phone\Skype.exe."
I have downloaded it again and followed all the installation steps but I still just get the Skype icon and the same message. Skype was working fine before I went away. I have never had problems with downloading Skype before. Any suggestions?
