My Skype is broken.

Here is the problem(s):
When i sign into skype, and try to send a message, it just says the message is loading. Like forever. It doesnt send.
If I go to quit skype, then restart it, it says "You have already logged in on this pc, please sign out". I can log into another account perfectly fine.
Methods I have tried that literally did not work at all:
I tried going to %appdata% and re naming the skype file. DIDNT WORK
I tried going into safe mode, deleting skype, then re installing skype, all while in safe mode. DIDNT WORK
I tried deleting outside of safe mode, then going into safe mode and installing. I tried deleting inside safe mode and then restarting, then going back into safe mode and installing skype. I tried deleting inside safe mode and installing out side of safe mode. DIDNT WORK
MY MAIN QUESTION IS HOW DO I FIX THIS, AND WHY IS MICROSOFT LITERALLY **bleep**ING SKYPE UP? I RELY ON SKYPE EVERYDAY, AND WASTED AN ENTIRE DAY OF MY LIFE TRYING TO FIX SOMETHING.
Also, on DEC 29, I restored my pc, but skype was working fine until today.

Skype is Broken

Everytime i use my Skype on Windows Desktop I open it and it close's to the task bar i am unable to open it or give calls however i am able to recieve calls I restarted my computer several times and it seemed to fix it for 1-2 weeks then it would crash again.I am starting to get Tired of waiting for 4 hours to Restart my computer i already checked skype on windows firewall i uninstalled skype also several times I really need help.

Please, run the DirectX diagnostics tool.
Go to Windows Start and in the Run box type dxdiag.exe and press the OK button. This will start the DirectX diagnostics program. Run this diagnostics and save the results to a file. Please, attach this file to your post.
Be aware that you will have to zip this file before attaching it here.

Skype Completely broken

Skype has been giving me hell of the better part of 2 years now and im finally fed up enough to post on here. Whenever i try to call someone it wont actually call them. instead it will ring and ring and ring and ring for up to 5 minutes before saying call failed. other times it will ring once and drop immidiatly syaing "theres a problem with the recording device" (there isnt) when people call me i get it half the time. When i do and press answer it doesnt answer. instead it depresses the answer button and sits there for a minute before repeating the "theres a problem with the recording device" message. This has been going on for not a few days or hours or months. almost 2 years at this point. Ive gotten new computers. uninstalled the program over and over. ive tried every fix imiaginable for the program and nothing. absolutely nothing. works.

First off, update your Operating system (win update), Internet Explorer and your drivers (manufacturers website). Download the latest version of skype: http://www.skype.com/go/getskype Make sure you have set up Mic/speakers correctly in tools > options > sound settings (and do a test echo call). Make sure you are not running any virtual devices. If persist, post a dxdiag here. Winkey + r > dxdiag (save info 32 bits) > rightclick file > send to > compressed folder > post file here as attachment.

People can hear my computer sound through skype.

My computer sends all my sounds through skype so that every one i´m talking with hear what i´m hearing! I´ve tried all the stuff i coold find on other threads but without succes. I´m using a siberia steel series headset v2. My sound card is sound blaster recon 3di. Please help!!!

Is it just me or is skype being dumb

Either on my computer or on mobile skype is broken! On mobile I cant search for the friend i'm trying to find! im starting to get frusterated and I fell like its just my skype! Anyway on my computer i cant type in to the contact or i cant log in ive waited over an hour but the wheel spins!

Interesting thread Scott, I have to agree with you wholeheartedly. I was recently processing a bunch of shots for a competition and naturally did them first in Aperture - took about 5 minutes a shot. They looked fine, but I felt a bit guilty - it shouldn't be this easy right? - so I spent some considerable time tweaking and refining them with Capture NX ( Nikon D2X files) and tried again. I found no discernable difference between the Aperture and the NX results (except obviously ones that I used masks for in NX). Unless there are specific problems in a file that need masking techniques or cloning then Aperture does a wonderful job, quickly and easily.
If they add a decent clone tool, selective masking and a type tool then for me Photoshop CS3 (the other software I occasionally use) goes straight out the window, followed by Nikon NX. D3 compatibility would be nice too, but that will come in time I'm sure.

DTMF Tones not working with 7.7.64.103

Hi, I'm trying to dial into a conference call and the keypad tones aren't being sent through from Windows. I'm running Windows 7. Any suggestions of how to get round this will be gratefully received as it'll cost a fortune to use landlines or mobile phone to dial into the meetings. Thanks, Rachel.

Computer Broken Down Due to Skype?

So I’ve been having problems with my internet and computer for some time now, and I believe it was ever since the beginning of the year. I heard there was some sort of virus at that time. Recently, our computer had suddenly broken down and wouldn’t allow us to even start it up. I’ve been accused for being the cause of this just because I mentioned the Skype virus and for the excessive use of Skype on my phone. Is this the problem or is it something completely unrelated?

I use an old credit card and cut a piece off about 1/4 wide to spread the thermal paste on the CPU die, but I do use your method (plastic over finger) to "tint" the heatsink.

Sign in page formatting broken in Latest Skype (Win7, x64)

I am trying to install Skype on my Windows 7 (x64) desktop computer. Once installed, it opens a small browser window with what appears to be unformatted content. I can see the sections (login, merge, etc), but clicking on their links (underlined and in a different color - so I assume they're links) does nothing. There's a username and password box, and filling them out (and hitting enter to submit the form) supposedly logs me in, but leaves the same mess on the screen. I can never get past this one unformatted HTML page, it seems.
I have tried making IE my default browser, making sure my Logitech Cam is connected, etc. I've also tried uninstalling and cleaning the registry, rebooting, etc. If helpful, I have attached a screen capture of the broken Skype login page.
Can someone familiar with this issue offer some words of advice?

Video Message broken Skype 5.0.0.49715 Android 4.3...

The video messae feauture stopped working on 5.0.0.49715 (or before)...when I try to record a video message all I see is a black screen and the record button and timer but if you hit record nothing happens..it actually freezes...I had noticed this on a previous version so I reverted back to 4.5.0.39600 which ON THE SAME DEVICE worked JUST FINE. But now skyped FORCED ME to upgrade to the latest release mentioned above and the video message is broke. So, does anyone has as soliution to this? Or a way to allow the old release 4.5.0.39600 to continue to run w/o being forced to upgrade? I have done research on this myself and have not found an answer. SKYPE SUPPORT...what is going on here??!! Seems like this issue has been around for a while and you have done nothing about it???

I've solved the issue, keyword: DOWNGRADE!
Skype version 4.9.xxxxx works fine!
Uninstall the current [broken] 5.x version and grab an old copy from:

Skype numbers are BROKEN incoming calls do not rin...

I paid for a Skype number. It used to work fine, people would call, and Skype would play the ringtone and I would answer.
NOW IT'S BROKEN.
One of the latest releases of Skype broke this and there is no Skype support to report and get problems fixed. This is mentioned many times in these forums and Skype will not address the issue. Just search for "incoming calls do not ring"

I am having this issue with an iphone 5/iOS 6. I can receive calls without issue when I have the Skype App open, but if it is in the background, the caller gets a message like "The person you are trying to reach is not available." if voice mail is turned on, or the phone just rings and rings if I have voice mail turned off.
I've confirmed that alerts and other settings in Notification Center are setup as expected. Not sure why this isn't working.

Autoaway feature seems to be broken in Skype\Piding

I'm having a recent ArchBang install not that heavily modified. I'm confused with the fact that Skype when going 'auto-away' doesn't ever return back automatically. Same is true for Pidgin, but it moreover goes auto-away even while I'm working on the PC (Skype fairly switches status when I'm realy away). And again - Pidgin sticks in this state and never goes online automatically.
I don't run xscreensaver or anything alike. To lock my screen automatically I run xidle (and it works fine).

Further to my original post, deleting and re-importing a folder from the catalog enabled the expected filter functionality.
So filtering is definitely broken for the first import of folders into a catalog. Since my photos are all stored in one location on the hard disk, and were imported into LR4b in one go, that means filtering is broken for my whole catalog unless I perform a reimport.

Skype is so Broken

So for the last 3 months skype has consitently bugged out on me. I have uninstalled and reinstalled at least 30 times, does not fix the program. I'll be chatting and messaging people and all of a sudden my messages won't send, ever. I'll try calling someone and it'll continuously call them without even giving the other person the notification that I'm calling. It won't let me end the call. It won't let me answer calls. Skype is completely broken for me and nothing is fixing it. So if someone could please help me that would be awesome because I really am tired of this stupid program not working.
So please don't be like EA and wait 3 months to help me.

Try to reset all Skype settings.
Quit Skype or use Windows Task Manager to kill any Skype.exe process. Go to Windows Start and in the Search/Run box type %appdata% and then press Enter or click the OK button. The Windows File Explorer will pop up. There locate a folder named “Skype”. Rename this folder to something different, e.g. Skype_old.
Next go to Windows Start and in the Search/Run box type %temp%\skype and then press Enter or click the OK button. Delete the DbTemp folder.
Restart Skype.
N.B. If needed, you will still be able to re-establish your call and chat history. All data is still saved in the Skype_old folder.
