My skype number was canceled on 11/16/2014 but was paid on 11/14/2014 as per paypal records and my bank statement. This number is used as a business line and is costing me $$. I need a remedy quickly

Please check your account dashboard once more to ensure that the payment posted to your account.  Look for a "reactivate" link for your Skype Number.  If this is not helpful, please contact Skype Customer Service immediately for further assistance.

Skype is aware of lingering problems with the website when contacting their customer service agents. If you experience difficulty reaching Skype Customer Service or find yourself redirected back to the Community, please try again using a different web browser and - most importantly - choosing a different path through the various drop-down menu options presented. Also, look to approve a pop-up dialogue box which would connect you to start an instant message chat with a customer service agent. If you have pop-ups blocked in your browser settings, this will also block reaching an agent.
People are getting through and starting instant message chats with customer service agents, however it may take several attempts before you are successful.

    Howdy,  in one of my Skype Numbers (I have two), there's a message that says:
    "Your Skype Number subscription was cancelled. It will expire on November 9, 2013."
    Then have the option of getting a new Skype Nr.
    However, I didn't cancel that subscription and want to continue to use that number past that date.   It's a US number.
    How can I do that?
    When I get a new Skype nr, I can get fairly close numbers, but not the same..

    Ok, contacted customer support (CS) via chat and this is what I got:
    CS: I suggest that you wait for this Online Number to expire for you to see an option to reactivate the Online Number.
    Me: But I need to put this number out there for people to add in their contacts.
    I need to be sure I'll be able to continue to use the number.
    Are you telling me that for sure when the number expires I will be able to reactivate it and continue to use it?
    CS: Don't worry once the number is expired it will still be on your account for 90 days.
    Me: ok, tx. Any reason I can't extend it now?
    CS: I apologize but there are some cases that extending an Online Number is available however, we suggest that you wait for this number to expire.
    Basically, looks like I can only renew close or after expiration, which 1) doesn't make sense and 2) why does the error message saying my subscription was cancelled appear?
    I guess I'll have to wait and see.   Meanwhile, the number is working.

    Thanks. I couldn't get the control-click to work, but I found that if I opened a folder and picked "Customize Tool Bar" from "View" in the Finder, I was able to drag the question mark out of the toolbar and onto the desktop where it "poofed' and disappeared. Doing this removed the question mark from the toolbar in all my folders.

    As strange as it sounds, this is how to change the term of your Skype Number subscription:
    Cancel, yes; cancel, your current month-to-month Skype Number subscription.  This will prevent the month-to-month subscription from renewing.  You have use of the Skype Number until the last day of the subscription.
    Sign on to your account dashboard the next day or even the day of your current subscription's expiration, where you should be greeted with a triangle icon alerting you to reactivate your Skype Number.  Click on the link beside it, where you will be able to reinstate your subscription for a longer term.
    (Your Skype Number will be held on your account for 90 days after the month-to-month subscription ends.)

    cancelling the Skype Number subscription you currently have; and
    starting a new Skype Number subscription.
    Be sure to explain the circumstances when you please contact Skype Customer Service to request a refund as Skype Number subscriptions are not refundable.

  • No option for buying additional Skype NUMBER year ...

    It is stunning how invisible this payment option which should be simple is.
    I have a skype number. My initial payment was paypal, and for 3 months. Now, no matter where I look, I have the option of changing the payment type (to visa etc), cancelling the subscription, or paying another quarter. However, all the HELP everywhere says 'no problem' sign up for 3 month or a year.   I'm completely stumped, after an hour of searching for what should take 3 minutes.

    I have a similar issue. Someone is calling me relentlessly using my own skype number. I need to keep it open to get business calls, so I can't restrict access. I have the number associated with all my business accounts, and I need to keep it. How can I protect my number? I bought it years ago, the problems have only started since skype's purchase by microsoft.

  • Skype STOLE my Skype Number after 4 years of ownin...

    I have been in a whirl with Skype's customer service now for 3 weeks. I can't believe how poorly I have been treated. Here is the story:
    I had a Skype number for nearly 4 years now. It was apparently up for renewal on Nov 8, 2013. I can't say why it did not renew. Skype claims my CC on file was expired which it was not. In addition they never notified me that it did not go though. The also did not notify me when they disconnected it. I only found out when a fried tried to call me then called my cell.
    I have at least 4 Skype operators in writing admitting they messed up and never contacted me. There is not a shred of an email, message, text, call nothing to indicate an issue with my number. Since I can still make outbound calls why would I know anything???
    Anyway the moment I became aware of the issues I tried to renew the number. It was FEB 14th and the number had gone back into the available pool. Someone of course had already reserved the number. Luckily the Skype operator ABIGAIL M said it was ok as they did not pay for it and it would be available again on MARCH 4th so I should sit tight and grab it again then. I am sorry I decided to calm down and agree to this...
    March 4th I sign on at 11:20AM Eastern and surprise the number is still not available. I get back on with Skype operator CHERRY O who tries to tell me I can't get the number back for another 60 days and that ABIGAIL M was wrong to say 30 days. I lose it at this point and sign off to try again with another operator later.
    At 7PM Eastern I get online with JAIME T who now informs me that ABIGAIL M was right and it was CHERRY O who was wrong. Problem is that before I could grab my number back that someone else had already taken it and paid for it! WTF!!!!!!!!!!!
    Then March 5th from 7:20PM Eastern though 11:30PM Eastern I go through RACHEL N, JESUS M and finally RYAN M. I am begging every one of these people to SIMPLY CONTACT THE NEW BUYER and POLITELY ASK THEM TO SWITCH NUMBERS. They don't have to agree to change but would assumingly as they wouldn't want to get calls for me from 4 years of business contacts, etc.
    NOT ONE OF THE 5 SKYPE OPERATORS HELPED RESOLVE THIS. None would agree to moderate between myself and the current number holder to do a transfer. If that person simply gives up the number it would be a 90 day wait with no way to guarantee I'd get the number back. They need to do a transfer as this is the only way to make it work. I have no way to contact them aside from calling the number and leaving voicemails.
    Skype has done nothing for me other than to repeatedly say "sorry".
    SOMEONE STEP UP, GO UP THE LADDER TO WHOEVER CAN RESOLVE THIS. I mean really it shouldn't be that hard and it's 100% Skypes fault - over and over in this incident.

    What you so well describe here, a number transfer (highlighted by me in orange type) is not something Skype has the facility to do:
    None would agree to moderate between myself and the current number holder to do a transfer. If that person simply gives up the number it would be a 90 day wait with no way to guarantee I'd get the number back. They need to do a transfer as this is the only way to make it work. I have no way to contact them aside from calling the number and leaving voicemails.
    In the system's simplicity, there is no flexibility. 
    Just out of curiosity ... and curiosity alone, have you checked the e-mail address on your account to double-check it is the correct registered e-mail address?  I ask because I recently did a Skype Number renewal, and I received e-mail alerts every step of the way.

  • Skype number not active, anyway to receive refund?

    Well for one I had purchased a skype number 3 days ago. After purchasing I was welcomed with the alarming fact that t mobile prepaid does not support call forwarding even though they give very misleading information that they do. My question is this, is there anyway possible that I can receive a refund for this service I will now never use. And if not, why is the service I paid for not even active? Thanks in advance

  • Skype number - lost!

    Hello I purchased a skype number a couple of years ago, it has been reviewing the subscription ever since but now I had found that even though it renewed ok I don't have my usual skype number anymore. When I go to see which number I have I get a message saying "1 Skype Number available to activate"... But I already had a number, now with the renewal that number has been assignied to somebody else? Has this happened to anybody before?

    Skype holds a Skype Number in reserve in our Skype account for 90 days following the Skype Number subscription's expiration; after that time has lapsed, the number is returned to the pool of available numbers from which to choose.
    When a Skype Number subscription reaches the end of its term, and the subscription does not automatically renew due to one reason or another (usually not enough credit or an expired payment method that needs to be refreshed), we sign on to our accounts and should see a Reactivate link.  If you do not, please check first with Skype Customer Service to determine the status of your number.

  • Ordered through bestbuy.co​m and my order was canceled very unfairly

    I feel like the order was canceled very unfairly. The price was great and that is why I purchased it. I ordered the product because because it was such a great price. It was canceled for no reason and no reason is being given or anything is being done. I did receive a refund but i wanted the product that was being offered for that price. How is it fair to have something available for purchase and being charged for it only to be told that i can't buy it when it was listed in stock for that price. I feel like I should have received the item for the price that the company has it listed for. I will be filling out a complaint with the Better Business Bereau if this is not resolved properly. I have contacted customer service with no resolve of the issue just an answer of oh well that's tough sorry. My order money is {removed per forum guidelines}. Thank you.
