Hello and welcome to the Skype Community!
Your account shows that you are calling from the UAE. Please note that the UAE blocks all outbound VoIP traffic including Skype. You could try using a VPN to access the internet.

When calling a Mexican mobile phone from Skype, you have to start the number with +52 1 followed by the Mexican area code and number.  The +52 is the Mexican country code, and the 1 that comes after it is a special code to signal that the call is going to a Mexican mobile phone.  This is mandatory for people calling Mexican mobiles from outside Mexico, including through Skype.  You don't use 01, 044, or 045 when calling Mexican mobile phones from Skype, either.
    Hope that helps!

  • How to make call on Mobile from OCCAS

    Hi all,
how we could make call on mobile from OCCAS, what type of configuration we have to do and what type of media server required. Also indicate if there is any simulator for media server.
    Regards

    Hello,
The normal method is to use a PSTN gateway (SIP protocol supported) to connect the OCCAS and the MSC.
And if only peer to peer voice call, no need to use the media server.
    Regards.

  • Can I use a Skype Number to call the USA from Spai...

Hi, I live in the US and will be calling friends and Family in the US.  BUT I will be calling them from Spain.  Can I use a US Skype #?
Subject/title changed from "Help Please" to reflect this post's question.

Hi, Grannyrosie, and welcome to the Community,
Please remember the purpose of a Skype Number is only for people to call you - a Skype Number is a fixed or land line number, and you answer the incoming calls on SKype.  You would need a Skype subscription or Buy Skype credit in order to place calls from Skype to fixed or land line numbers and mobile numbers.
    Regarsds,

  • Windows 8.1 & Skype: how to call a contact from the Windows Contact List?

Hi  I just added a contact on Win 8.1 Surface. When I try to call directly from the windows contact list I get a message that skype has been replaced by skype for desktop. When I remove the skype app (and keep skype for desktop) calling from the list is also not possible: I get a message that no app is associated (message-skype-com) Is there a way around it? Or is it currently not possible to call a skype contact from windows contacts?

    Hi, Pancake12,
Because I am not certain I an interpreting what you mean - although it looks quite literal - I am going to provide three separate pieces of information:
    - To remove a contact's name from your Skype sign-in window, please refer to the instruction in this FAQ article - using their account name, not yours:  https://support.skype.com/en/faq/FA11070/how-can-i-remove-my-skype-name-from-the-sign-in-screen-in-s...
    - In case you mean removing a contact from the Skype Home Screen when you say, "sign in window," unfortunately, we cannot do this.  Skype has some arbitrary algorithm which places recently contacted people on the Home Screen.
    - In case you mean removing a contact from your contact list, here is an FAQ with the details how to do this:  https://support.skype.com/en/faq/FA421/how-do-i-organize-my-contacts   In Windows, it's as easy as highlighting by single-clicking a contact's name, right-click, and choose Remove from Contacts or Block.
    Hope this helps!

  • Does a Skype subscription require an active mobile...

I am planning to call internationally from the UK to Hong Kong S.A.R. I have an iPhone but with no mobile subscription from a provider in the UK. I want to subscribe to call mobiles in Hong Kong, but I am not sure if I need a mobile connection in the UK in order to use skype's calling service.

No, it does not.  iPad 3G has a GPS chip build in.  Wifi only iPad does not, but uses location services to find it's location.  If you have a 3G version iPad, GPS communicates with satellites with or without 3G service activated.

  • I have credit, but can't call Polish mobiles from UK

Hi! I've been trying to call mobiles in Poland from UK. I managed to get through only once, but other times I get an automatic reply that I can't call the numbers I'd chosen. I'm sure they're correct! The online guide to my problem suggests checking whether my subscription covers Poland (though I'm sure it does as I managed to call that one time). It says "Sign in to your account, click your existing subscriptions on the left, then click Settings next to your subscription. The information is displayed". I can't see any Settings in my subscriptions, it only suggests topping up credit, which I don't need... I find it very frustrating, so I'm hoping you'd be able to help me.  Thank you in advance, Aggi

Hello Norman! Thank you for answering.  I am sure that I'm using the right account, so the problem still remains.. Thank you in advance for further suggestions. Regards

  • Skype subscription in combination with Skype premi...

    Hello,
I have a Skype subscription for calling to mobile and landline numbers in the Netherlands. I noticed that with a Skype premium account you can make unlimited calls to landlines in the Netherlands.
Is there a way to combine these two, so that the landline calls do not use up my subscription minutes?
    Thanks in advance.
    Frank

In case anyone else has this question, I contacted customer support and got this answer:
... , if you purchase the Skype Premium with Unlimited Calls to NL(landline) and make
calls, the minutes will be deducted on your limited subscription which is 400
    mins to NL.
So not the answer I was hoping for. Maybe Skype can come up with a better solution in the future?!

  • Calling a mobile phone in Moscow

If I buy a monthly subscription to call a mobile phone in Moscow, does the person I am calling get charged by their mobile provider? My friend told me she has to pay for incoming international calls on her mobile, but does a call through Skype act as a local call?
    Any help would be appreciated.

If I am not mistaken, the person will NOT be charged when you call him / her .. calling from a computer to a mobile .. x.x what do you think? If you have a skype subscription are calls free to a landline or cell phone. My son is in Germany now and I have not used skype yet to call a phone. I saw a rate price for phone calls but I thought a subscirption allowed you free calls to phones via skype. What is your refund policy if I don't like the service?
It depends on the subscription you purchase.  Not all subscriptions cover calls to mobile (cell) phones, since the rates to call mobile phones are higher than calling landline phones in most countries.  If you were wanting to call your son in Germany, you would need to confirm what type of phone you would be calling, before purchasing the subscription.  You would need to get a subscription specific to Germany if you would be calling a mobile phone, as the Unlimited Europe and Unlimited World subscriptions don't cover calling to German mobile phones.
If you were not planning to make regular calls to the phones in Germany, you could just purchase Skype Credit and pay for each call made to phones.  Rates differ for most countries between landline and mobile phones, so be mindful of that.
    Hope that helps!

  • When calling my mobile number, it makes the 'no such number' tone?!

My phone (iPhone 5s) currently states 'No Service'. I've turned it off, turned it on, put it in airplane mode, taken it out, but still got 'no service'. I currently have a wifi connection, but no wifi-calling. Have tried calling 151 just to 'test' it, nothing. Have now called my mobile from a landline, but just get a 'no such number' tone, whereas I should be re-directed to the voicemail... I am on a EE Sim only contract, with a contract end date of 13/09/14, but that I haven't cancelled. Money has just been debited from my account for July, so I assume this would cover me until 13/08/15. Anyone have any ideas of what's going on?! Everyone else in the office on EE has a signal, and I don't think it's the signal that's the problem, or the phone would just go straight to voicemail instead of a constant 'no such number' tone...

  • What do recipients see when I call mobile from Sky...

    Hi all,
I have just signed up to the US subscription (calling US landlines and mobiles from Skype) - however, how does the person I am calling know that it is me?  What do they see on their mobile phone?  My skype username?  A strange long number?
Any thoughts on this would be appreciated!!
PS I "do not" have a Skype number that Skype sells for an extra charge..
    Cheers
    RS

    Hi,
    A strange long number, afaik.
But, according to == the FAQ  == you probably might set up the caller identification by using your mobile number.

  • Origin of call with Skype subscriptions

I understand the Skype subscriptions and their rates when calling TO a specific country, but does it matter where you call FROM/ the origin of the call if you have a subsription to call that particular country?
For example:  If I buy a year subscription to call landlines and mobiles in the United States, for the $2.99 a month, does it matter WHERE I am calling from (such as France, London, Germany) as long as I am only calling TO the United States? Or is that rate only for people in the U.S. trying to call others in the U.S? I'm a U.S. resident studying abroad for a year and wasn't sure if the origin of the call/ where I call from, is as important as where the subsription is set up to call to.

I am a subscriber in CANADA for some reason the default country of origin for mey calls seems to be the United states of America.   How do i Change this ver bad FAULT or default country of origin.   It really pisses me off that the USA seems to have taken over the world and everything seems to be THEIRS.
When calling telephones, the people you call may see a number based on where Skype patches your call into the telephone network.  When calling phones across the USA and Canada, this is often done from locations in California.  Users have no control over where Skype patches calls into the telephone network, as this is done in part to minimize the costs for those calls (and how there are lower rates in general when calling with Skype, and "unlimited" subscriptions for some parts of the world).
Skype has been doing this for many years, even before its acquisition by a big US-based software company.  It's not some part of a scheme for the US taking over the world.  It is probably cheaper for Skype to patch calls bound for Canadian phone numbers into the phone network from wherever it is being done now (probably in California) than it would be to patch the calls into the phone network somewhere in Canada.
