My skypein number suddenly doesn't work!

Dear Moderator (or whoever can help):
I have been using the skype number +852 81926138 and it has been working just fine for a little more than 3 months. All in a sudden, I try calling myself using my landline and a long sounding (i.e. not working) tone pops up. My subscription is due in November 2013 (i.e. not yet overdue) and I have tied up the number to my skype user ID (which is joeyshaw) correctly. what seems to be the problem? system failure? I can see quite a number of people facing the same problem in this forum. Could anyone answer me?

I have just checked the ELO (Dutch for Enduser License Agreement that came with the product when I acquired it). It says: "Onder Licentie wordt verstaan het eeuwigdurend recht om een exemplaar van het Softwareproduct te installeren, te kopiëren of anderszins te gebruiken."
Or in English: "Licensing means the perpetual right to install a copy of the Software Product, copy it or otherwise use it". So in my opinion they are not allowed to just terminate my license all of a sudden. I will contact legal tomorrow about this and take action if needed.

Besweet, I'm having the very same problem with 60GB colour which was bought new and worked for 6 months before suddenly just not being recognised by PC. I hadn't changed anything at all.
I've followed all troubleshooting advice and reinstalled and updated iTunes and iPod updater software but all troubleshooting routes seem to hit the dead end of either the need to access the iPod via the PC (which isn't possible as it's not showing up at all) or the iPod in disc mode stuck at "ok to disconnect".
It's still under 1yr warranty so will have to take to a dealer.
I'm sorry that's not much help for you but at least you know it's not a unique problem.

I use iMac OS 10.6.8 (uptodate Snow Leopard) with Firefox for Mac 23.0.1. Online and at other times, my number pad doesn't work. Is there a 'Num Loc/unloc' on the keyboard?

On line or otherwise, my number keypad doesn't work, then I get a 'freeze.' Number keypad works durning sign in.
I use Mac keyboard (original equipment).

Hi, sometimes Shift+clear works as numlock.
Also open System Preferences>Universal Access>Keyboard tab, & see if Sticly keys is on.
One way to test is to Safe Boot from the HD, (holding Shift key down at bootup), run Disk Utility in Applications>Utilities, then highlight your drive, click on Repair Permissions, Test for problem in Safe Mode...
PS. Safe boot may stay on the gray radian for a long time, let it go, it's trying to repair the Hard Drive
Reboot, test again.
If it only does it in Regular Boot, then it could be some hardware problem like Video card, (Quartz is turned off in Safe Mode), or Airport, or some USB or Firewire device, or 3rd party add-on, Check System Preferences>Accounts (Users & Groups in later OSX versions)>Login Items window to see if it or something relevant is listed.
Check the System Preferences>Other Row, for 3rd party Pref Panes.
Also look in these if they exist, some are invisible...

email send/receive suddenly doesn't work (as of September 24th); I can't change email settings (one suggestion from tech) as BB phone won't accept *valid* username and password -- what to do?
I understand from a support note that if I keep trying my password/username combination, my BB will eventually delete all data!
I can't understand this. I'm completely lost now. I can't remember what I've done or tried to do. A plethora of usernames and passwords is swimming in my head.
Thanks for any hints. I have always loved this BB Bold and have never had any trouble with it.

But the real question is why for the past year did the passwords work and then all of the sudden after this anomaly the disk password doesn't work? I'm not 100% sure of what my configuration was, but I know that most of the time it required one password -- supervisor, and occasionally it asked for 2 -- disk password as well I believe. This may have been related to the Password on Restart setting I think -- asking for the disk password on cold vs. warm boot. But I know both were exactly the same. But after this incident only the Supervisor password worked.

IChat video suddenly doesn't work...

My fiancee and I have been using iChat for the last few years - the video and audio have always worked fine. She is in the USA and I'm in England until we get married in November. Last night, when I got home from work, it suddenly doesn't work. I'm on a MacBook running 10.4.11 and use AIM on iChat and she is on AIM on a Windows Vista laptop. I have a different Error code in my Log.
You have Error 8
This is a bit of general coverall error code.
It means that it cannot make a Connection (it has excluded other items such as Internet Speed (Error 22) and issues over routing (error 7) and a "missing" camera)
One cause is when you set up Port Forwarding in your router for iChat and then the computer's IP Changes
This means the router is "pointing" the ports to one IP and the computer has another.
You have the three titles in ther Log (which I have now spaced out)
Normally there is more info in these sections.
The rest of the Log is not useful at this stage (I can't see that it mentions any iChat add-on)
Check the IP in use in System Preference > Network.
Compare this with any IP that is listed for Port Forwarding in the router.
Ideally the router should be using UPnP to open the ports (it lets your do Screen Sharing in iChat)
The router should not be doing Ping Blocking or have any DoS or SPI Security Filters

Home page Hero Orbit slider suddenly doesn't work

We're developing this site http://scholzandbarclay.businesscatalyst.com based on the http://uguru-interior-design-us-feb52014.businesscatalyst.com template. After making a few minor changes late yesterday, the hero orbit slider suddenly doesn't work. All changes made were rolled back to working version, yet the hero still doesn't work.
I have recopied all the page code from the uguru-interior-design template into the scholzandbarclay site, which also did not work. All other code, scripts, styles have been checked. Can't find anything. However, when the pages render there is a difference (see screen captures)
in this one, the ul has no orbit
in this one, the script has added the orbit code.
Again, all scripts, code, styles have been checked.
What am I missing?

Icloud password suddenly doesn't work on my mac

My apple user name and password haven't been changed at all for a long time. I have used it to access icloud and the itunes and everything.
But suddenly the password doesn't work 'on my mac.'
However it still works fine when I access icloud.com from my same computer.
But when I try to "manage my account" from system preferences (icloud), it doesn't work.
And also, when I access the itunes store from my same computer it doesn't work.
There are no error messages-- when I type in the password and press return it just reverts to the same page in which the password field is empty.

Apple Keyboard with number pad doesn't work with Mac Pro?

I have a Mac Pro, and have used an Apple Keyboard with a number pad (not bluetooth) with it for quite a while, with no problems. But then my keyboard broke and I ordered a replacement Apple Keyboard with a number pad (not bluetooth). This keyboard doesn't work with my Mac Pro. I have it plugged in, but I can't get the Mac Pro to consistently recognize that there is a USB keyboard connected to it. What magical stuff do I have to do to get the keyboard to be fit for purpose?

It would not hurt to try an SMC Reset. (But if it does not help, it adds credence to lllaass assertion that the keyboard is not working.)

What just happened? HD password suddenly doesn't work...

Alright this is a tricky one. W520 w/ Intel SSD.
I've got a Supervisor (SPV) password set for my BIOS as well as a HD password set.
I don't think I had a Power-on password set but I'm not sure.
No problems, my password has always worked.
I'm working and I have my laptop plugged into my LAN via Ethernet and I shut down. I always use wireless but was working with my router settings so had it plugged in via Ethernet this time.
When I start up, it started trying to boot from LAN, I see the Intel Boot manager start up (screen saying Press Ctrl + S to change options), and of course there is nothing on my LAN to PXE boot from so it proceeds after failing.
Then it asks for my Supervisor password, I enter it, works, asks for my HD password, I enter it, doesn't work. I try again, doesn't work. Try a third time, locks me out. I restart the machine.
The next time it asks for my HD password first rather than my Supervisor password, which doesn't work again. I reboot again.
Third time through this charade and for some reason the HD password works now but only to get me into the BIOS -- meaning I've pressed F1 and it asks for my password and lets me into the BIOS settings.
From here I try to remove the User password on the hard drive but it does not accept the password -- the same password I just entered and it accepted.
Now I'm not fat fingering or anything, the password is simple and I'm making sure I'm typing it in exactly correct.
So somehow powering off and powering on with my Ethernet cable connected has majorly screwed up my passwords in the BIOS. I think it was set to re-order boot devices if Wake-on-LAN was enabled or something, but something in that process must have screwed up my BIOS config. I don't know what to do. I don't understand what the heck is happening here. Password works then all of a sudden doesn't?

But the real question is why for the past year did the passwords work and then all of the sudden after this anomaly the disk password doesn't work? I'm not 100% sure of what my configuration was, but I know that most of the time it required one password -- supervisor, and occasionally it asked for 2 -- disk password as well I believe. This may have been related to the Password on Restart setting I think -- asking for the disk password on cold vs. warm boot. But I know both were exactly the same. But after this incident only the Supervisor password worked.

Mail suddenly doesn't work

I have a hotmail.com email adress. It always worked great with Mail. But suddenly I can't receive any mail.
I've already deleted my account and made a new one. Also I've made a gmail account. But it still doesn't work.
With gmail I've got one mail send and one received. But the next time I opened Mail they were both gone, and Mail didn't worked also.

All of a sudden the other day I could no longer import emails from the Comcast server to my mail program on my computer (10.5.4, macbook pro) but those emails DO exist on the Comcast server.
I still receive emails from my business address through my web site, but NOTHING comes in from Comcast.
I called Comcast and they tried to help me reset my Mail Preferences - but that didn't help. The person at Comcast told me there are problems since an Apple update of the software, and they have no solution for it.
Is this true? When will it be fixed? How can I make it work???
