My songs all of a sudden wont play

My songs wont play in itunes in fact a cd wont even play in itunes. I have the new version of itunes already and have listend to my songs since then, so i dont think its an issue with compatiblity. Whats wierd is it stoped playing after going to amazon.com and palying one of ther samples, wich just do happened not to work either. Within seconds i went back to itunes and it hasnt worked since. I hope somebody can help me or tell me how to contact apple or itunes directly cause every i search to do i come to an dead end (funny how such a big company seems to not give a c--- about customer service).

I don't mean to claim your dumb, just some people overlook or don't notice the mute is on or volume is turned down. I once helped someone for afew days on a issue like this only for them to find out there sister had unplugged there speakers from the back of the PC.
Have you tried playing something in Quicktime and Windows media player?

First off, I would STRONGLY suggest that a external hard drive would make you life much easier by at least being able to back up your songs on the external drive for when you need them. Even if you don't want them in the iTunes library, you can have them all ready on the external to be re-added as needed. You can get 100's of gigs for under $100 shipped.
Anyway, since you used Yamipod, are all the songs back on the computer? If so, I would go ahead and restore the iPod, let iTunes then resync everything back to the iPod, then switch it back to manual and see if the restore and resync clears up the issue.

- Reset the iPod. Nothing will be lost:
Reset iPod touch: Press and hold the On/Off Sleep/Wake button and the Home
button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Restore the iPod from backup
- Restore the iPod to factory defaults/new iPod.

So, if you select one of these songs on the iPods screen, and try to play it, what happens? The iPod does nothing? It skips to the next song?
It's possible you will have to do a Restore on the iPod, if there is data corruption on the iPod causing this problem. The Restore erases the iPod, and removes any corruption.
NOTE: There may be a hardware problem, such as the iPod's hard drive becoming unreliable, that is causing this problem and data issues. It may continue to operate as long as its data stays mostly unchanged, but if you do a Restore to update the hard drive's data in a major way, it is possible that the Restore will fail and leave the iPod non-operable.

Hi my 4s has all of a sudden stopped playing sound. I have a ringtone but no sound for music/movies etc. tried turning on and of and letting bat go flat then recharging. Sound came back for a while then went again. I noticed this started soon after I upgraded to 5.1.1 . ITunes only plays one song at a time, it wont play my playlist or library

all of a sudden my itunes will only play one song and then stop and when i press the "next" button, it just stops the song playing. and now there are check boxes in front of each song and i dont know what it means? i just want to be able to put my library on shuffle and play through them!!

The check boxes have been there for as long as I can remember. You can see them in screenshots back as far as iTunes 1: iTunes Screenshots
The check boxes have a number of uses: iTunes: Understanding the Symbols Next to Songs
Unchecked songs will be skipped when playing songs from the library or a selection. They will only play when individually clicked on.
Smart Playlists have an option that unchecked songs won't appear.
Unchecked songs will not be burned to CD.
The iPod has an option to only sync checked songs
The Genius & iTunes DJ features will ignore unchecked songs
Basically unchecking is a way of telling iTunes to ignore the item and exclude it from other automatic features.

Itunes doesn't recognize some of my songs all of a sudden

Ever since i got my Iphone 5s my itunes has been acting up....i go to connect my phone to my computer and all of a sudden there are tons of songs that itunes can't find and won't play....and they have this exclamation sign next to them.
what is wrong and why is this happening and how do i fix it.

they used to work, but i just bought a new cd from i tunes now all the songs from i tunes wont play on my ipod.
how can i fix this. im not going to "restore" and loose all my songs.

Bought songs on another computer that wont play on new computer

i cant play the songs that i bought on my other computer.there are no exclamation marks.they just wont play.the songs that i bought on my new comp will play.the songs that i bought on my other comp. will play on my ipod just not on my computer.

I have 87 songs i bought on one computer with ITUNEs 6. I got a new tower, and downloaded ITUNES 7, which went out, found all the songs and sucked them into the new version. When I "synced" my IPOD to the new computer, it won't copy the songs, i don't have permission to have them. &^%$! (*&^#!

2nd gen shuffle suddenly wont play music podcasts

Recently my 2nd generation iPod shuffle suddenly won't play some of my music podcasts.
It might have been after upgrading to iTunes 10.2.2 (12) that this started happening.
It still plays one of my other podcasts on it, but it's not playing the music ones, which is
what I use the shuffle for (running to podcasts on the treadmill). Please help!
The podcasts it suddenly won't play are ones it has played in the past. The shuffle is
having trouble reading them I think. But then, maybe it has something to do with the
permissions on the podcasts? I don't know. They are all free ones. I tried finding some
new ones to use, but the shuffle won't play them either. They are playing fine in iTunes,
and they sync to the shuffle seemingly without problem.
When I try to advance the shuffle to the next track, it won't do so, it simply won't play
some of these podcasts.
Help would be much appreciated.

oops problem solved. found this after doing a bit more research.
The iPod shuffle won't play podcasts if it's in shuffle mode, it has to be switched to linear mode.
I switched mine to linear mode and voila, it works. I must have accidentally switched it to shuffle
mode without realizing. Now all my podcasts are playing fine. yay.

Songs all of a sudden seem slower to import

Have an HP m8200n PC- noticed that just recently, when I import songs into iTunes from CD, sometimes they import much slower than usual..and it looks like the sample rate when importing seems to show a lower rate than normal. Usually they go zoomzoomzoom when importing. Is it the CD? Does the condition of the CD affect how fast they get burned? (These are all fairly well-played CDs checked out from library.)

Where are you importing from? Disk, card in reader, card in camera, other?
Whenm you say you have no prolems with the other applications is that with the exact same setup (card, images on card, import method) as with Aperture when you get the error?
Have you tried reformatting the card?

My computer is authorised however some of the songs that I have downloaded wont play?

I have just downloaded some music from Itunes. Some of the songs will play but some say that I need to authorise the computer. I put in the details, it comes up with a box that says 'the computer is already authorised and that I have used 4 or the 5 authorisations available' however the songs will not play. It a repeating loop, I click on the song and it tells me that I need to authorise again. All of the songs were downloaded at the same time to the same computer?

Interestingly I have been into the Itunes Store and looked at the items that I have downloaded and they seem to play fine. But in the library it keeps saying that I need to authorise the computer when it is already authorised. I have already deleted it and re-installed it but nothing...... When I go to the track that doesnt work there is nor Purchased By information (although the apple ID is present). The other songs that do work, do have the Purchased By information. Will this be the cause of the problem? how on earlth do I get around it?
