My songs aren't advancing

My songs are repeating instead of advancing, even when I set my iPhone to shuffle. Did I change a setting I don't know about? Thanks!

Start playing a song.
Tap on the album cover art for the song to bring up the time remaining indicator.
To the left of the time remaining indicator is the Repeat selection icon. If this icon is blue in color means Repeat is selected. Select the icon until the color turns white which indicates it is off.

  • Songs aren't showing up in iPod but are on iTunes

Certain songs aren't showing up on my iPod, but I see them in the iPod music list on iTunes. They show up in the library. They are also in the iPod when it is open in iTunes. But they dissapear when I disconnect the iPod from the computer. Any suggestions would be great!

This Apple knowledge-base article may help address that issue.

  • How do I stop all of my music in my itunes library syncing to my iphone 5 even when the songs aren't ticked?

The frustrating part about the restore is that is seems to be finished when it in fact is not.  The restore will look "finish" and your phone will be at the Swipe to Unlock screen. If you swipe and look at your home screen at this point of the restore, you'll see everything is not quite right.  While the process seems to be not doing anything just leave the phone attached and do something else for about an hour.  This part of the process is not mentioned during the restore operation.  I believe there are about two steps to the restore process: 1) restore the phone settings (ringtones, background, notification settings, etc.) and give the user the unlock screen; 2) without letting the user know there is still more to do, begin the slow process of restoring all the music, movies, apps and what not.  It's this second step that causes the confusion.  Nothing lets you know to wait that process out.  I've restored a couple devices from a computer backup and the 2-step process looks the same.

  • Is there a way to find which songs aren't on playlists in my library?

I have more songs in my library than on my ipod because I must have forgotten to put some into a playlist. (I put the songs on my ipod by choosing the individual playlists I have finished). Is there a way to find out which songs aren't in a playlist so I can add them to the appropriate ones.
P.S: I don't want to just sync all songs because I listen to my ipod by playlists and I would never end up hearing them if they're not in one.

Yes, you can make a new Smart Playlist, with the criteria "Playlist is not Playlist_name", repeated for every playlist you have on your iPod. Have it set to "Match all of the following rules".

  • It says that it updated, but the songs aren't on my ipod!

When I connect my Ipod to update it, it updates it and then says that it is ok to disconnect, but after I disconnect it, the songs aren't on my ipod. The Ipod shows that it has updated on the computer, and the songs are there, but they are not really there. I have tried and not been able to restore it. Is there anyway I can manually delete everything/restore? It is a 4G and it is running verison 3.1.1. Is that the right verison? I have tried different cables and USB ports. I have installed all of the latest itunes. I have downloaded the ipod updater/restore program, installed, it and restart the computer, but non of it has worked. I can access some word files on it, and that makes me think that it is not the cable?? I need help:( please:(

are you getting the ipod service error on the latest updater too?
these are the best places to start with that one:

  • I bought an entire album but the songs aren't listed out individually

I bought an entire album from iTunes but the songs aren't listed out individually.  they are listed individually on my iPhone, but not in my iTunes library.

What happens when you try to download it again? An error message? Does it try to charge you again?
You may need to tell the iTunes store people about it if its trying to charge you for it again.

  • Large playlist some songs aren't lodaing onto iPod

I have a very large playlist and there are four songs in it that are perpetually not loading onto my iPod.
I've checked file types and all my tracks are in mp3 format, I've even reformatted the bitrate of every song I've got just in case.
But the problem remains, I have no idea how to find out which four songs aren't loading properly.
I've checked my iPod and Mac playlist and they both have the same amount of artists and albums.
    Any ideas would be appreciated.
    -Bobo

What format are these tracks in and what is the original source? Are these downloads from the iTunes Store or were they imported from outside of iTunes?

  • TS3474 Songs won't advance (IPOP Nano)

I have an IPOD nano 6th generation. Works great except songs won't advance unless I push the advance button. The song repeats over and over again on all modes (shuffle etc). What can I do?

    Hello Ruth,
I was researching what could be going on with the iPod Nano, and have a few recommendations. First I recommend that you turn it off by holding the Sleep/Wake button for about 5 seconds or so. Turn it back on the same way and test again.
If that doesnt quite cut the mustard, then I would reset the iPod. From our article How to reset iPod here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1320.
How to reset an iPod nano (6th generation)
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and Volume Down button simultaneously for at least eight seconds or until the Apple logo appears. You may need to repeat this step.
If the above step did not work, try connecting iPod to a power adapter and plug the power adapter into an electrical outlet, or connect iPod to your computer. Make sure the computer is turned on and isn't set to go to sleep. Try resetting the iPod while it is connected to power.
And the last thing to try would be a restore on the iPod using this article Restoring iPod to factory settings here:http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1339
    How to restore iPod
Verify that you have an active Internet connection, because you may need to download new versions of the iTunes and iPod Software.
Download and install the latest version of iTunes if necessary.
Open iTunes. Connect your iPod to your computer using the USB or FireWire cable that came with your iPod.
After a few moments, your iPod will appear in the Source panel in iTunes.
Select your iPod in the Source panel. You will see information about your iPod appear in the Summary tab of the main iTunes window.
    Click Restore.
If you are using a Mac, you will be asked to enter an administrator’s name and password.
A progress bar will appear on the computer screen, indicating that stage one of the restore process has begun. When this stage is done, iTunes will present one of two messages with instructions specific to the iPod model you are restoring.
Disconnect iPod and connect it to iPod Power Adapter (typically applies to older iPod models).
Leave iPod connected to computer to complete restore (typically applies newer iPod models).
During stage two of the restore process, the iPod displays an Apple logo as well as a progress bar at the bottom of the display. It is critical that the iPod remain connected to the computer or iPod power adapter during this stage.
Note: The progress bar may be difficult to see, because the backlight on the iPod display may be off.
After stage two of the restore process is complete, the iTunes Setup Assistant window will appear. It will ask you to name your iPod and choose your syncing preferences, as it did when you connected your iPod for the first time.
If this is a software issue, then the steps outlined above will fix it.
    Cheers,
    Sterling

  • My songs aren't playing right! How do I fix this?

I just downloaded music and two of the songs won't play all the way through. I will be listening to the song and all of a sudden it starts playing another song, but the screen doesn't change. Like, it still says I am listening to the song from before. It's really weird and it kind of makes me mad because I paid 1.29 for those songs and if they aren't going to work right, then I want my money back. Does anyone know if you can delete the songs from the iPod and then download them again or something?

you may have to restore the ipod back to it's factory setting, in some cases this works but if the file doesn't play in iTunes, no matter how many times you try it won't fix it, so you have to find if the iTunes music file plays, if so than restore the ipod, if not then delete the song and re-import it to the library
    quick resync and you're done

  • My songs aren't in my library?

    Hi,
Hope someone can help! it's probably pretty simple but i'm not entirely used to using a mac so i've got a little stuck.
The problem is i've just connected my ipod mini via USB to my new mac and it is recognising my ipod but my songs dont appear in the library. I normally use it on windows. there is an option to "replace all existing songs from this library" but there arent any to replace? so i presume that means it would wipe my ipod. there is an option to "consolodate" in advanced itunes section - what does this mean?
Thank you for any help you can offer,
    Laura
      Mac OS X (10.4)

The consolidate option in iTunes is simply a way of putting all the music on your computer into the iTunes music folder. It has nothing to do with the iPod itself.
You do not want to click 'yes' to that message you are seeing, you will erase the iPod if you do, and if you need a way to get the songs from the iPod to your new Mac, then try this.
Senuti. It's a free program that does just that.

  • Some songs aren't syncing correctly - Iphone

Some songs are not syncing correctly. That means I change the name on Itunes and this change does not affect the Iphone. But that just happens for some songs. So on my iphone 30% of the songs are messed up and disorganized,
I tried to find posts/foruns about it but I couldn't, Seems like a rare problem.
Don`t know how to fix it. It's been more than a year,
Iphone system is up to date (Iphone 4)
    Thanks in advance

  • Songs don't advance

When I play the iPod on my iPhone (not 3G) the songs will not automatically advance. I have to advance the song manually. If I don't, the last song just repeats over and over. Is there any solution?

You have "repeat" turned on, look for a little circular arrow under the left end of the progress bar when the song is playing. Tap it until it turns white (off).

  • My songs aren't fully playing

    Hello,
I've been recently having problems with my iPod playing songs. It will play anywhere from the first half of the song to only the first second, if that. Then the song will just stop, and continue to the next. This is even happening with songs I've purchased from iTunes. I use a 20g iPod and it has roughly 900 songs. Please help! Thank you in advance.
    -Preston

    Hey kid2020,
That definitely sounds frustrating. If the songs are not playing fully in iTunes, they may have not downloaded completely. See the following article:
Songs in iTunes may not play back completely
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS4357
    Symptoms
Occasionally, if a song purchased from the iTunes Store on a Mac or PC was not downloaded completely, the song may not play back fully. The song may abruptly stop during playback, and iTunes may start playing the next song in your library or playlist.
    Resolution
If iTunes in the Cloud is available in your country, try the following steps to resolve the issue:
    1. Delete the purchased song that is exhibiting the problem from your iTunes library.
    2. Click on the Purchased link in the iTunes Store to view your previously purchased music.
    3. Download your previously purchased song from this list.
Note: iTunes in the Cloud, which allows you to download previously purchased songs from the iTunes Store, is not available in every country. Learn if iTunes in the Cloud is offered in your country.
Once you have re-downloaded the content, and verified the issue is resolved, simply re-sync the music to your iPod and Enjoy!
    Thanks,
    Matt M.
