My songs aren't showing in itunes from purchases made on iphone

so I have made numerous purchases on my iphone 3g that show up in my itunes library but I have many more than it shows, when I tried the check for downloads or reauthorizing the computer nothing changes, I just want to make sure that when I upgrade to my new shiny iphone 4 sitting in my lap I don't lose any of those songs that were just on my iphone and not in my library on my computer..
can I just use the restore feature and get everything that was on my old iphone when i plug the new one in? or are the back ups usable for accessing some songs that only show up on my iphone 3g

No.
Everything needs to be on your computer.
Music/tv shows/etc are NOT part of the backup. You need to transfer ALL purchases to your computer.

  • Songs aren't showing up in iPod but are on iTunes

Certain songs aren't showing up on my iPod, but I see them in the iPod music list on iTunes. They show up in the library. They are also in the iPod when it is open in iTunes. But they dissapear when I disconnect the iPod from the computer. Any suggestions would be great!

This Apple knowledge-base article may help address that issue.
Windows confuses iPod with network drive.

  • HT201272 I purchased audio books from Itunes and they aren't showing up on my purchased list? So now I can't download them to my new computer. Any suggestions?

I purchased audio books from Itunes and they aren't showing up on the purchased list so I can't down load them to my new computer. I have authorized my computer. So any suggestions?

You cannot redownload audiobooks at all.
They will only be where you put them.

  • How can I copy songs with metadata (added in iTunes) from my PC to my new iMac?

I have iTunes 12.0.1 on my Windows PC. I'm about to get a new iMac (hooray!) and I'm beginning the process of transferring everything on my PC to my Mac. I've got all the documents, pictures, files, etc. covered, but now I have to make a copy of all of my music.
Most of the music in my iTunes library is not bought through the iTunes Store (I download most of my songs from the Internet). Then, after saving the downloaded song to my computer, I go into iTunes on my computer and add the song. I also add metadata like artist, album, genre, album artwork, etc. to the song in iTunes. What concerns me is that only the songs in iTunes have this metadata: the original downloaded files I saved onto my computer don't have any metadata.
I really don't want to have to go through the long and tedious process of adding artist/album names, genre, etc. to every single song in my iTunes library on my new iMac. How can I copy songs with metadata (added in iTunes) from my PC to my new iMac?
Thank you so much for any help!

Hello! I'd like to learn more about Home Sharing. To do this, would both my PC (which I hope to get rid of) and my new iMac need to be plugged in?
Also, after Home Sharing with the old PC is initiated, I understand that all my songs would appear on my iMac. Is there a way to copy all of these (with album artwork, name, artist, etc.) directly to the iMac's hard drive and then disconnect home sharing so I can get rid of my PC?
    Thank you!

  • I purchased 4 songs today that show up in my purchase history in my iTunes account, but they are not in my Library under recent purchases.  Why?

I purchased 4 songs today that show up in my purchase history in my iTunes account, but they are not in my Library under recent purchases.  Why?

I figured out the problem.  All music purchases now go to the cloud and must be downloaded to each computer or device.  I needed to go to the iTunes Store and look at my recent purchases then click on the cloud to download them.

  • Why aren't all of my recent purchases showing up on my "purchased" tab on iphone 4S?

Why aren't all of my recent purchases showing up on my "purchased" tab on iphone 4S? I downloaded an album and I can't seem to get songs 2 and 4 although they are on my computer. I could probably connect my iphone to sync, but I'm wondering why they aren't transferring via iCloud.
    Thanks!

        Dear Sduncan87,
Good afternoon. Ensuring your text messges are being logged correctly is important. I am happy to see you were able to determine they were iMessages. Unfortunately, there is not a way to track iMessages. However, if you find the iMessage user and you need to block them. Apple now gives you the ability to block iMessage users. To block iMessages Tap: Settings > Notifications > Messages > Scroll down to show iMessage alerts from, “My contacts only” >  Should you have further questions or concerns, please feel free to reach out to us. Have a great day!

  • I need to restore my sons ipod touch because he forgot his pswd.  I can do this but it asks to backup first and my computer has no more memory to do this.  Aren't all my itunes app purchases stored anyway?  Why do I have to put this info onto my labtop?

I need to restore my sons ipod touch because he forgot his pswd.  I can do thisby hitting restore in itunes, but it asks to backup first and my computer has no more memory to do the backup.  Aren't all my itunes app purchases stored anyway?  Why do I have to put this info onto my labtop?

The iPod backup that iTunes makes does not inlcude synced media like apps and music. Those items should be in your iTunes library.
You can redownload iTunes purchases by:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store

  • HT1918 How can i block others from purchasing itunes from my ipad or iphone?

How can i block others from purchsing itunes from my ipad or iphone?

You can use Settings > General > Restrictions on each device to require your iTunes password to be entered for every download (and you can block in-app purchases), or you can hide the App Store ('Installing Apps' set 'off') and iTunes store apps so that they can't be used.

  • Some of my purchases aren't showing up in my Purchase History in the iTunes store, why is this happening?

Today, I decided to update my iPod touch via the iTunes store on the actual iPod itself. My iPod hasn't been updated via computer for over a year now because I'm afraid to lose all of my other songs, since my computer crashed a while back and I lost all of my songs. That's why I decided to update it with the purchases I previously made through the iTunes store, that way, it would just add those purchases instead of delete and replace all of the other songs. I know for a fact that my iPod doesn't have any of the new purchases I just made on it, but when I went into my Purchases in the iTunes Store, on both my iPod and computer, there were a lot of songs missing. I know that I purchased them and I purchased them using the same Apple ID because I only have one. The strange thing is, a few weeks ago, those songs showed up in my purchases and I was able to download them into my iTunes playlist on my computer via iCloud, but now that I want to put them on my iPod, a lot of my songs have gone missing. What could have happened?
Also, when I go into the iTunes Store and look up the songs that I know I've purchased, it says "Play" in the grey bar, but it doesn't show up for download?
For added information: These songs that are missing are in my iTunes library. I purchased a bunch of Sleeping With Sirens songs and Florida Georgia Line's whole album and those are all missing from my purchases in the store. It says I have one song purchased for Sleeping With Sirens in my purchases and it's a music video, but I know that I have more than just that.

    Did you figure this out?
Quick glance at your file, 'Text8' Element animats in fine in Chrome. But from what I can gather, all your other elements 'Text7' down to 'Text' are empty?
Meaning therre is nothing in them. While they exist and you attempt to animate them, they are empty so there is nothing to 'see' beyond the text that exists i element 'Text8'.
The other elements needs to have text in them.
    Hope this makes sense.

  • Why do I have to re add all songs/apps/movies/shows to Itunes??

Itunes seems to lose all my songs/apps/movies/shows every once and a while and it all has to be re added?? HELP, why does it keep doing this??

Normally no, updating iTunes won't affect your library at all. That said, it would be wise prior to the upgrade to make a backup of the iTunes Library and iTunes Music Library.xml files and of any tracks you've purchased from the iTunes Music Store or that would otherwise be difficult to replace, just in case something does go wrong.

  • Cant upload new songs in iTunes from new computer onto iPhone 3gs

How do I upload new songs in my new iTunes from my mac to my iphone 3gs WITHOUT deleting or replacing all the old songs? My old computer crashed and I have no way of accessing those old songs but I dont want to loose all 509 songs. some were burnt from CDs i no longer have some were purchased through iTunes etc...help please! i really like my old music and just want to update it.

By 'rebooted' do you mean that you only rebooted it, or that you reinstalled its software ?
If rebooted then aare the songs still on your computer, just not in iTunes - by default your iTunes library is stored under :
    Mac OS X: /Users/username/Music
    Windows XP: \Documents and Settings\username\My Documents\My Music\
    Windows Vista: \Users\username\Music\iTunes
    Windows 7 and Windows 8: \Users\username\My Music\iTunes
If it's there then File > Add To Library in iTunes should let you add it back.
If not then you should be able to copy iTunes purchases (including apps, films etc) back from your phone via File > Devices > Transfer Purchases.
For non-iTunes purchases (and for purchases if need be) there are some programs listed half-way down this page which can copy them back : Recover your iTunes library from your iPod or iOS device
Then add them to iTunes via File > Add To Library
If iTunes thinks that you are trying to sync the phone to a new computer : Syncing to a "New" Computer or replacing a "crashed" Hard Drive

  • ITunes in the Cloud songs aren't appearing in iTunes on my computer.

I had my icloud songs in my song list and now they're gone.  What gives?

To show all your previous purchases that are not downloaded to your computer use Edit > Preferences > Store and tick Show iTunes in the Cloud purchases.
Should you want to retrieve any hidden items use Store > View My Account > iTunes in the Cloud > Hidden Purchases > Manage.

  • How do you uncheck songs and TV shows in iTunes?

I have iTunes 12.1.0.50. Everytime I try to uncheck a box an exclamation point in a circle pops up. Its extremely frustrating and I can't figure it out.

    Hi Ky1017,
The exclamation point symbol next to songs or other media in iTunes means that the application is unable to locate the media file for that item, or it was purchased but not downloaded. This article tells how you can correct the issue -
