My songs aren't there...

I am fairly new to this ipod thing. I had originally set up my ipod on my father in laws computer. I have an entire playlist on the ipod itself. I have recently downloaded itunes to my computer at work. I brought in my ipod today to see about updating the playlist while I had some free time but when I plug the ipod into the computer, it says, "The iPod Kim's iPod is synced with another iTunes library. Do you weant to erase this iPod and sync it with this iTunes library."
Call me crazy, but why would I want to erase my iPod? Why can I not just see the songs I alreayd have on here on this computer?
Thanks for ANY HELP!!!!

You can transfer the play list from one computer, to another using a flashdrive. Just copy all the files in My Music from computer 1 and add them to computer 2. You will have to have to use the same account on both computers. Just authorize the second computer to play those songs.

  • My Songs aren't there (2)

I have recently got a replacement shuffle. I get it to sync, charge etc... it shows up in itunes, but not in my computer. When I disconnect it, there is no music. I have been back to the apple store twice, each time to a different store. Both times the genius bar tech gets it to work, but when I get home, load music, i get nothing. Also, it freezes up my external HDD. I am getting to the end of my rope with this. Help Please!!!! Oh, and I have AVG anti-virus, which I was told might corrupt the sync, so I turned it off.

Most likely it is conflicting with the external HDD: http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=93499

  • Putting songs onto my iPod, but when I go to play them, they aren't there.

Recently I've been having problems putting songs onto my iPod Touch. I'll put the songs onto my iPod through iTunes, and it shows that they are on my iPod and everything is legit, but when I leave and go to play them on my iPod, the songs aren't there and nowhere to be found. When I plug my iPod back into iTunes and view all of my music, it shows that the songs are on my iPod, however, when I double-click them, and exclamation mark pops up beside the name and they don't play. This doesn't happen with every song I put on, just select ones, and there doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason to it.

If your country's iTunes Store allows you to redownload purchased tracks, I'd delete your current copies of the dodgy tracks and try redownloading fresh copies. For instructions, see the following document:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
Otherwise, I'd report the problem to the iTunes Store.
Log in to the Store. Click on "Account" in your Quick Links. When you're in your Account information screen, go down to Purchase History and click "See all".
Find the items that are not playing properly. If you can't see "Report a Problem" next to the items, click the "Report a problem" button. Now click the "Report a Problem" links next to the items.

  • I put songs onto my IPhone 4, and they show up under the "On This Phone" section in itunes, but when I go to play the songs on my phone, they aren't there. How can I fix this?

When you look at your iPhone, are you looking in the Music app or in the iTunes app?  Be sure you are looking in the Music app, and look in the Songs category.  If your songs are not here, you may want to try syncing your information again through iTunes.  To do this, uncheck "Sync Music" and then click apply or sync in the bottom right corner of iTunes, and then recheck "Sync Music" and then click apply or sync again.
    I hope this helps!

  • Is there a way to find which songs aren't on playlists in my library?

I have more songs in my library than on my ipod because I must have forgotten to put some into a playlist. (I put the songs on my ipod by choosing the individual playlists I have finished). Is there a way to find out which songs aren't in a playlist so I can add them to the appropriate ones.
P.S: I don't want to just sync all songs because I listen to my ipod by playlists and I would never end up hearing them if they're not in one.

Yes, you can make a new Smart Playlist, with the criteria "Playlist is not Playlist_name", repeated for every playlist you have on your iPod. Have it set to "Match all of the following rules".

  • How do I stop all of my music in my itunes library syncing to my iphone 5 even when the songs aren't ticked?

How do I stop all of my music in my itunes library syncing to my iphone 5 even when the songs aren't ticked?

The frustrating part about the restore is that is seems to be finished when it in fact is not.  The restore will look "finish" and your phone will be at the Swipe to Unlock screen. If you swipe and look at your home screen at this point of the restore, you'll see everything is not quite right.  While the process seems to be not doing anything just leave the phone attached and do something else for about an hour.  This part of the process is not mentioned during the restore operation.  I believe there are about two steps to the restore process: 1) restore the phone settings (ringtones, background, notification settings, etc.) and give the user the unlock screen; 2) without letting the user know there is still more to do, begin the slow process of restoring all the music, movies, apps and what not.  It's this second step that causes the confusion.  Nothing lets you know to wait that process out.  I've restored a couple devices from a computer backup and the 2-step process looks the same.

  • It says that it updated, but the songs aren't on my ipod!

When I connect my Ipod to update it, it updates it and then says that it is ok to disconnect, but after I disconnect it, the songs aren't on my ipod. The Ipod shows that it has updated on the computer, and the songs are there, but they are not really there. I have tried and not been able to restore it. Is there anyway I can manually delete everything/restore? It is a 4G and it is running verison 3.1.1. Is that the right verison? I have tried different cables and USB ports. I have installed all of the latest itunes. I have downloaded the ipod updater/restore program, installed, it and restart the computer, but non of it has worked. I can access some word files on it, and that makes me think that it is not the cable?? I need help:( please:(

are you getting the ipod service error on the latest updater too?
these are the best places to start with that one:

  • Large playlist some songs aren't lodaing onto iPod

I have a very large playlist and there are four songs in it that are perpetually not loading onto my iPod.
I've checked file types and all my tracks are in mp3 format, I've even reformatted the bitrate of every song I've got just in case.
But the problem remains, I have no idea how to find out which four songs aren't loading properly.
I've checked my iPod and Mac playlist and they both have the same amount of artists and albums.
    Any ideas would be appreciated.
    -Bobo

What format are these tracks in and what is the original source? Are these downloads from the iTunes Store or were they imported from outside of iTunes?

  • Songs aren't showing up in iPod but are on iTunes

Certain songs aren't showing up on my iPod, but I see them in the iPod music list on iTunes. They show up in the library. They are also in the iPod when it is open in iTunes. But they dissapear when I disconnect the iPod from the computer. Any suggestions would be great!

  • I downloaded digital hd copies of movies onto my parents' computer and they have a new computer now, and the movies aren't there, even though they have the same apple ID. What do I do to get them to download?

I downloaded digital hd copies of movies onto my parents' computer and they have a new computer now, and the movies aren't there, even though they have the same apple ID. What do I do to get them to download?
    New computer: Dell, Windows 8.1
    Processor: Intel Core i7-4770 CPU @ 3.40GHz
    64-bit Operating System, x64-based processor
    16 GB RAM
    itunes up-to-date
Old computer: Dell, Microsoft Windows XP
    Processor: Intel Pentium D CPU @ 2.80GHz
    1 GB RAM
itunes not up-to-date (updating it isn't really an option)
I have these movies downloaded on the old computer from digital hd redeemed codes: Fantastic Mr. Fox, Super 98, Thor, Inception, The Hunger Games, and Star Trek Into Darkness. I bought Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl on itunes with money, and that one isn't showing up either. When I search it on itunes to see if I can just re-download it, that isn't an option. I would have to buy it again. Home Sharing isn't what I want because the old computer will not be here forever and it is not connected to wifi.
It's kind of a lot of movies, and I want them on the new computer.

im so happy I have a iTunes Card Code absolutely free! I got it at http://linkbitty.com/freeitunes2014

From your statements above, it sounds like you never tried to burn a CD for at least the first year that you owned the laptop, as it had a one year warranty on it. While you might have used it frequently to install software,  play DVDs, Blu-Ray disks, etc, that's unclear from your statements. Nonetheless, it might just be dirty-dusty. So, before deleting-uninstalling any software, and given they're cheap, try a CD-DVD Cleaner Disk first and see if that resolves your problems.

  • I upgraded to iTunes 11.0. My iPod Nano 4th Version will sync, but music and playlists will not appear to manage and add more songs. Is there a fix?

I upgraded to iTunes 11.0. My iPod Nano 4th Version will sync, but music and playlists will not appear to manage and add more songs. Is there a fix?

If I go from 'Devices' to Summary and then Music, I only get one option-Sync Music,There is a box on this page but the options within it are grayed out. If I tick the Sync Music option I get this message-
'Are you sure you want to remove existing music, films, ect, from this ipod and sync with this itunes library?
'Music synced to (my ipods name) from other itunes libraries will be removed and items will be synced from this itunes library' I have only ever used itunes on this PC and the 'Manually manage music and videos' is ticked but
that must be a default setting as I haven't ticked it.

Hard drive packed up, but had Time Machine backup. I installed new ssd and upgraded to Mountain Lion, but I can't find iPhoto library and photos or iTunes songs? Is there an answer to this?  A backup run did not install either photos or songs. Graham

Thanks so much but none of that helped.  It was driving me crazy because it would back up another external drive.  I just changed the name of the drive from iPhoto/iTunes Library to Media Libraries and IT WORKED!! I guess for some reason it didn't like the drive being called iPhoto or iTunes ???? I don't understand but I have tried so many solutions and exchanging things out but the name change did it????!!!
Thank you for your help and replying to this.  Guess I made my own issue!

  • I would like to take a iTunes play list and put it on a USB drive for my car radio to stay in my car. Is there a way to do this through iTunes so you have all the song info and there's no number in front of the name of the song? Is there a program?

iTunes only syncs to Apple devices.
Assuming the media is not DRM protected, any of the media can be dragged and dropped from iTunes onto other drives (external, flash, etc) as the user chooses.
