He is logged in to his Imessage account but he is still not receiving or able to send and Imessage. Ive completed a re-start. I dont thik its his IPOD as his account on our family IMac is also not receiving or sending messages. Does anyone know what might be wrong?

Has he tried connecting to a different network?

I am trying to move my library and playlists to a new computer by burning to CD's. To move an iPhoto Library to a new machine:
Link the two Macs together: there are several ways to do this: Wireless Network,Firewire Target Disk Mode, Ethernet, or even just copy the Library to an external HD and then on to the new machine...
But however you do choose to link the two machines...
Simply copy the iPhoto Library from the Pictures Folder on the old Machine to the Pictures Folder on the new Machine.
Then hold down the option (or alt) key key and launch iPhoto. From the resulting menu select 'Choose Library'
and select the Library that you moved. That's it.
This moves photos, events, albums, books, keywords, slideshows and everything else.
Your first option didn't work because you imported one Library to another. Every version and thumbnail is imported like a distinct photo, you lose all your Albums, Keywords etc., the link between Original and Previews is destroyed, the non-destructive editing feature is ruined and so on. In summary: it's mess.
Your second option didn't work because you simply referenced her library on the old machine.

Go to Settings > Messages > Send & Receive on each device and make sure only the phone number for that device is checked.

Since have completely lost control of that Apple ID and neither recovery email nor security questions are working any more, you need to give Apple Support a call - only they will be able to help you. HT1947 Fun bridge keeps hanging up. I reinstall and then it works until yesterday. It shows I installed it but it is not showing up. When I go to where I can reinstall it, it will not let me because it says I have already installed it on this device.

Can someone please help? I have has issues with an ap that I have to pay ongoing to use and, last time, it was about $100, for 1000 deals of bridge. It hangs up often, for want of a better description. What I have done in the past is uninstall and the reinstall it. Yesterday I did this but it no longer shows on my screen. When I go back to try to install it, I am "told" it has already been installed but it is not here. I am not a newbie. I have also sent them a message, from two places reserved for that by them and, both times, I get an error. Their development site is in French so that does not help me.
I see nowhere on my IPAD2 settings where I can do anything such as delete an existing ap. Apple wants me to pay them $29 for one-time help and I do not think this is fair for something I am paying for that is not working. I have paid over $200 total for this ap and it's continuing usage. The ap is free but to really use it, you have to pay ongoing charges.

You are not using iPhoto properly and are in danger of losing your photos
iPhoto is a SQP database application and there are NO user servicable parts in the database (by default the iPhoto library) It is extremely important that you NEVER make any changes of any sort to the content (or structure) of the iPhoto library
The only safe (and suppoprted) way to resize photo is to select them and export using the various esize options in teh export dialogue and use those resized photos - this is a bathc process and does not involve Preview nor does it involve seperate processing for each photo

My ipod has "hold" in place permanently for some reason

This started happening last night where my ipod has "hold" lock on, almost permanently, even if it's not switched on. Nothing happens if I actually move the switch over to "hold," it just stays on "hold." The only way I can get it off is when I jiggle the headphones, but even then it's rarely off "hold" for more than a split second. At one point I got lucky and had it off "hold" for a few seconds, just enough to reset it, but it didn't do anything. Right now it's plugged into the computer charging, but still it hasn't switched off at all. OH also it's not like the switch isn't over far enough, I've tried pressing it to the "unhold" part as much as I can (That I felt would be safe) and it's as far over as it normally is. This also means that it can't be turned on all to easily either. Does anyone have any suggestions?

You iPod encounter and error. That happens sometimes.

Are you sure your AppleID is NOT tied to the US store? If you are trying to buy an app from the Swedish store you will be unable to do that. Some apps are only available on certain stores. That is why you get the "Cannot connect to the iTunes store" message when trying to buy that app. Your updates are being done from the US store ; thats why you can update sometimes and sometimes not.
If you keep encountering problems contact iTunes support. They will help you sort it out.

How can I recover my music??? I keep getting "The song " " could not be played because the original file could not be found" And for some reason my back up isn't working either. I have over 11Gb of music on here. Please help???

I have no idea what's happened to all my music, even the stuff I've bought off iTunes and downloaded won't sync to my iPod or play through iTunes. Having a total nightmare with it all.

If you know where all songs are located on the computer, I'd suggest just removing everything from iTunes and then adding it back in.
Edit > Select All
Edit > Delete
*Choose the option to Remove from library
*If prompted to move to recycle bin, choose Keep File
Then click File > Add Folder to Library and navigate to the folder on your hard drive that has your music in it. You can choose your iTunes Music folder, for example, and this will incorporate any subfolders you have stored in there.
The lock icon suggests that the file is "protected," so most likely purchased from the iTunes store.

For some reason both Firefox and Thunderbird says my profile is missing and the apps won't load. Please help...I have tried reloading FF but it did not help.

It just started today....but I can't get in to either Firefox or Thunderbird. Says my profile is missing or lost. That is the total message. I did not know I had a profile or do I know how to look for it. It is odd both apps failed at the same time.

I'm sorry you're expierencing this problem. Open the Profile Manager by following the directions in the article, [[Managing profiles]]. If a profile shows up, select it and hit start Firefox.
If no profiles show up, you need to follow the direction on the same article to set up a new profile. Although, I am not sure if it is possible to recover your old profile.

I recently updated my iTunes to the new version. For some reason the titles and details of songs on the SONGS page do not appear, although the songs will play. Has anyone else had this problem? Every other page seems to be ok.

Thanks for the suggestion... but I think my first question would be why these parameters would need re-setting? This is a new machine... It has never been shut down hard. It is used at most 10 hours per week... mostly using Office 2004 for MAC. I need to figure this out as I will soon need it as a Cs2/CS3 - Aperture workhorse.
I too agree that it is best not to use a sledge when a scalpel is needed... but as a novice to the MAC world I may have been misled by Apple support. I seems to have fixed the symptoms ( some) but appears NOT to have addressed the cause... which is what I am after.

I have downloaded an update to Firefox, but when I try to load it I get this message, "The operation cannot be completed because you do not have sufficient privileges for some of the items" and I have no idea what it is talking about or how to change it.

The previous version of Firefox is still on and operational. I get this message when I try to drag the Firefox icon to the application file icon. Since this is my computer, and I am the administrator, I don't know what privileges I lack, or on which items. If there is a way to correct this I would like to do so and activate the new version. It looks like the new version is 7.0.1 for Mac OS. This happens everytime I try to load the new version by dragging the icon.

If there are problems with updating or with the permissions then easiest is to download the full version and trash the currently installed version to do a clean install of the new version.
