My sons Ipod is connected to my wifes Iphone account, how do I seperate them?
Create a NEW account/ID for her using these instructions. Make sure you follow the instructions. Many do not and if you do not you will not get the None option. You must use an email address that you have not used with Apple before. Make sure you specify a birthdate that results in being at least 13 years old

Use the new ID on her iPod but for:
Settings>Messages>Send and Receive
Settings>FaceTime
Settings>GameCenter
and Settings>iCloud if you want her to have separate Contacts Calendar and some other things.
If you want continue to use the same/common Apple ID for Settings>iTunes and App stores so you can share purchases.
Note that if you change the ID in Settings>iTunes and App Store
- Apps are locked to the account that purchased them.
- To update apps you have to sign into the account that purchased the apps. If you have apps that need updating purchased from more than one account you have to update them one at a time until the remaining apps were purchased from one account.

When you can't log into public WiFi ...
with an iDevice…
because the Server times out ...
or the login/registration page just won't load ...
********Simply do this***********
Go into settings> WiFi and tap the little info icon for the network you are trying to join
If you see two slider buttons, these are the cause of your woes
One says "Auto Join" (or similar) - you can leave this ON
The second button is "Auto Login" - you must turn this OFF (slide it left so it is grey not green)
Now go back and reselect the network.
If the login page doesn't come up automatically, open a Safari window and enter any address
Bingo!
I have reproduced this issue and solution in 100% of the public WiFi spots which I could previously not access. Please not that I also have "Block Pop-Ups" turned OFF in Settings> Safari, though I do not know if this is a necessary step.
I have filed a bug report with Apple. Feel free to contact them yourselves if this workaround works for you.

my ipod only connects to the wifi when i am in the room of the router. as soon as i go out of the room into some other room it disconnects and doesn't connect again. unless i go to the room of the router. i have an ipod 4 with ios 6.1.6

Can't get my Ipod to connect to the Wifi?
Never had this issue before it has always connected fine. Now all of a sudden I can't get it to connect at all. I have reset the network and went through all the steps and still nothing. Everything else connects to the wifi such as computer, kindles, phones.. Ugh this is really frustrating me. Please help.

Hello, I have an ipod touch 4th gen. about two weeks ago it stopped registering my wifi. My texting app and my google app still work fine, but everything else says im unabble to connect. even the app store. I cant even update my ipod. My IP adress is 192.168.0.103 if that matters.. when i go to the wifi settings i can connect fine to my wifi, and have full bars. I have reset my router, and have reset my setwork settings on my ipod. twice. and still have this problem, i have even gone to a friends house and connected to their wifi and had the same problem. please help , and all the other computers and smart phones in the hosue work fine.

Both my sons have a I-Pod touch and they are on my I-tunes account. How do I move my older sons I-Pod to his own I-Tunes account so that when they do face time with their friends it does not show up on both I-Pods.
Just register a new Apple ID in his name and login with that.

You might try Group Messaging, but for that to work you would have to create a group that included every one your son talks too... and those people would be able to see what you send to him as well.
Another down side is some other parents might not take too kindly to you "listening in" to what their child says...
Personally, and as a parent and grand parent, I think this is less about technology and more about relationships, responsibility for ones actions, and trust.... Just my $.02 -

i have done everthing i know. i have done EVERYTHING on the apple support page, ive disabled my firewall, i reserved my IP adress, i asked to join networks, reset network settings, i even reset my entire ipod. i can join pretty much every other port except mine. i used to have a 3rd generation ipod. i would be able to skype call my ipod, with my new 4th generation (the one with wifi problems) i dont understand, how i can skype the other ipod, but i cant go onto safari or youtube. i also noticed, that my ipod does not say what channel it is on. im wondering if that could be the problem.
Fudgeyberry... have u tried checking your router?? try checking your router and try switching some cables around because one of the cables might be on the wrong place.. that is what happened to me too.. it showed the 3 bars in the ipod saying its connected but couldnt go on the internet.. i found out one cable of the router was on the wrong place.. fixed it.. and it worked :D

Hi everyone,
I just got a 4th gen iPod, and I had trouble setting it up because it couldn't connect to my wi-fi connection. I had to set it up through iTunes instead.
When I go to the Wi-Fi screen in Settings, pick my network name and enter the password, the Wi-Fi icon shows at the top of the screen but there is no checkmark next to the network name in Settings. It still shows the loading wheel, and when I open Safari it tells me that it can't load pages because it cannot connect.- Reset the iPOd. Nothing will be lost.
