My sons ipod is frozen. We can't even type in his pass code.
My sons new ipod is frozen. The screen doesnt respond to touch at all and we've tried resetting it and it still doesnt work. Any one have any suggestions?
It seems like you will have to restore it. This will sadly erase all content so if you are willing to put back your music/videos etc.. back, then go for it you do this by
1) Connect the iPod Touch
2) Press and hold sleep+home until the devicereboots.
3) Keep holding until that "please connect to iTunes"-screen appears
4) iTunes says something about having detected atouch in recovery mode. Allow it to do its thing.
If you get the -18 error, proceed:
5) Disconnect the iPod Touch
6) Close iTunes
7) Reconnect the iPod Touch
8) iTunes launches and shows message as in step4, but this time, the recovery will work

Try holding down the Sleep/Lock Button and the Home Button together until (if it does) the iPhone turns off. Keep holding until the Apple logo appears, then let go once you see it.

IPod says "disabled connect to itunes"... wrong pass code from my 10 year old. I put to recovery mode and 10 minutes into restore it tells me to put the pass word in but the iPod is still locked... help I can't put the pass code in and I can't recover.... He feel awful!

You will need to restore your device as New to remove a Restrictions passcode. Go through the normal process to restore your device, but when you see the options to restore as New or from a backup, be sure to choose New.
You can restore from a backup if you have one from BEFORE you set the restrictions passcode.
