My Sony BDV-n9200wl home system is stuck on setup screen?

My Sony BDV-n9200wl is stuck on setup screen? I can't do anything with it? It is like it has frozen. A message does come up about updated software available and to update it but I can't cause I can't get passed the setup screen! I have hardly used it, may 6 times at most! I was told to try changing the batteries in my remote but this made no difference

Hello Kerry-h, thank you for your message. Welcome to SONY Community!
The home theater system (HTS) will stop responding duing the system software (firmware) update if the BD/DVD function was not set before starting the update. Follow these steps if the HTS has stopped responding after trying to perform a system software (firmware) update using the Network update feature.
Unplug the HTS from AC power. Plug it back in and turn it on.
Press the BD/DVD function button.
Re-attempt the Network Update process.

The system is "muting" itself every 5 minutes or so.  If we turn up the volume, the sound comes back, but will then mute itself again.  Are there any suggestions out there as to how to fix this?  Thanks.

hmmmm... have you tried going into the audio menu to see if there is some type of timer function?

  • Flex2 system recovery stuck at blue screen

I bought My Flex2 laptop less than a week ago.
Today when I tried to boot it, the laptop got stuck at a black screen with Lenovo logo and the message "scanning and repairing drive (D". Sometimes it would pass this screen but all I had was a black screen with a mouse pointer (that moved btw).
I tried to use One Key Recovery, I turned off the laptop by holding the power button and I pushed NOVO button, I got a simple menu, I chose "recover my system" but then it got stuck with a light blue screen that I suppose should be showing a recovery menu.
What can I do about it.?

Call the warranty service ..It is a  fastest way.
I think your computer has a problem in hardware such as hard disk or mainboard, etc.

  • Iphone stuck on setup screen

Updated iTunes and iOS for my iPhone 4. Installed update. Restored from most recent backup - iPhone has contacts, pictures, etc but does not have apps, music, ringtones. When connected to iTunes, I get the set up screen asking if I want to setup as new phone or from a back up.
Bascially a continuous loop that does not move past the set up options in iTunes.
I have restarted the phone, computer and iTunes.
    Any ideas?

You'll have to get the SIM card first, you can't set it up without a supported SIM.

  • 10.6.8 update stuck on blue screen... 4 hours and counting

Upon selecting automatic software update my system seems stuck on blue screen with spinning grey gear.  How long should I tolerate this (going on 4 hours now) before attempting to do something?
I can access the hard drive of this computer from others on my local network and am able to copy files from it.  I'm wondering if I should try to grab all that is valuable to me before anything worse happens.
    Advise?

If your data is not backed up copy any important documents you can from your Mac's startup drive.
Once you are done copying your data, use the power switch to turn off your Mac and disconnect everything except a wired keyboard/mouse and monitor. Start up in safe mode by holding the shift key down right after you hear the startup chime. Keep holding down the shift key until you see the Apple Logo and spinning gear.
Mac OS X: Starting up in Safe Mode Mac
OS X: What is Safe Boot, Safe Mode?
Safe mode will do some maintenance routines and checks/repairs the disk if needed so it will take quite a lot longer than normal to boot. Once your Mac boots restart normally. It will take a little longer than normal to boot but not as long as booting in safe mode.
If things don't work as expected install the Mac OS X 10.6.8 Update Combo

  • 10.5.3 won't install... stuck in blue screen loop

I chose to install it from software update. It told me to restart. I did.
I got hung up on a blue screen loop.
But no error messages or anything.
    I had to hard reset.
Then started up fine- but system profiler shows I'm still 10.5.2.
And software update still shows the update as "downloaded".
If I click "install" it immediately asks me to reboot, and sticks in the blue screen loop again.
I have done this three times now.
If I choose restart from the apple menu- same thing.
So I decided to shut down- can't shut down. Get stuck in the looping blue screen.
So it seems like something is gumming up the shut down process. I've heard of startup items making things freeze- can the same thing happen when shutting down?
Not sure what the issue is.
The other people posting problems seem to be getting error messages, etc.
I am going to try to repair permissions, and if that doesn't work maybe I'll try the standalone installer- but why is this happening? this is like a 2 week old MBA with next-to-no third party stuff installed on it... what could be corrupted already?
fortunately I have backups if worse comes to worse...
    Any other tips/thoughts?
    Thanks!

should i try the standalone installer?
You could try, it's been known to sort system issues because it's fuller than the incremental "delta" update, so it should overwrite any files that are damaged or missing.
Remember to Verify Disk before update and repair permissions after update from /Applications/Utilities/Disk Utility.
But if you can't boot into Safe Mode something is amiss*. Since, you are able to use your system (not stuck on blue screen, try this first:
Go to System Preferences >> Accounts >> Login Items and remove them. Boot normally and test. If not go to ~(yourHome)/Library/Contextual Menu Items and move whatever is there to the desktop. Then do the same with /Library/Contextual Menu Items. Lastly, try moving ~(yourHome)/Library/Fonts to your desktop and restarting.
*EDIT: You do have to hold the shift key for Safe Boot until you see the spinning gear, just in case you didn't do that.

  • Sony BDV-E570 - Cannot get sound from TV to Sony system using Digital Optical Cord

I get beautiful audio out of this system in FM Tuner, BD/DVD, and Internet Radio - no buzz whatsoever. However... the only way that I can get ANY audio from the TV or Cable box to come out of the Sony system is with RCA cables (the old style Red / White). This produces a horrible buzz but at least the TV sound comes out. The manual gives three different options for streaming TV audio through your Home Theater System. I purchased an 8' Rocketfish digital optical cable at Best Buy. It doesn't work at all! No audio at all. It fits, but doesn't quite want to "stay in"; is this normal???
I have the Sony BDV-E570 system, Vizio 46" TV (purchased 6 months ago) and a Comcast Digital HD cable box. All three have the same optical outlet and this cable doesn't "stay" in any of them. Does this sound like an Optical Cord issue? I really don't want to take this system down and lug it back to the store.
    Thanks for any help!

    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

An optic cable should be able to fix the buzzing sound. If for some reason it isnt  staying in the back of the system, then there could possibly be a falty connection in terms of the optic cable input or connector. Otherwise, as long as you have the audio cable hooked up, no matter which route you choose to connect them, and have your tv's audio set to external speakers you should be all set. If this continues to not work, I'd try calling either Geek Squad/Home Theater specialist or call Sony's technical line and see if they have any other suggestions. I myself am a Best Buy Home Theater specialist and this is my initial reaction to the issue at hand.

  • Sony Blue Ray Home Theater

    Hi ,
I am having SONY Blue Ray Home Theater System. I have hooked up the spekers to TV  (Sony Bravia HD) as well. When ever I put Blue Ray or normal DVD or CD, properly sound is not coming to all speakers. I mean, no human dialogues coming into all speakers. But Speakers are working perfectly with TV. I am having problem only with  Blue Ray, DVD & CDs.
Is there anyway I can rectufy this?
    Please help me.
    Thanks,
    Girish

Try pressing the Sound Mode button on your remote the next time your playing a Blu-ray, DVD, or CD. You can press this button repeatedly until the sound is distributed correctly through your speakers. You may have to do this again to change the sound mode when you switch between watching/listening to TV, Blu-ray, DVD, or CD.
If the above doesn't work out, you could also try pressing the Audio button repeatedly until sound is distributed correctly for what you're watching or listening to.
Hope this helps and good luck!
I am a Best Buy employee, but my views are my own. I enjoy my job, and even more so my customers. You are why I go to work every day.

The APP update request came for 4 apps.  I submitted update all, but the system is stuck and will not update. Further, I cannot use those apps.  How do I fix this?

Two other things to try -
Power your iPad off for a minute and then back on again.
Double tap the Home button, locate the updating apps (one by one) in the bottom task bar, press on it until the red minus sign comes up and click it. Repeat for the remaining apps. Try the updates again but do them one by one rather than Update All.

We'd better check on that, kris. If you enable iTunes in your Windows firewall, does that help with your connection? See the following document for instructions:

No the battery is non removable.
Try a Reset  ( No Data will be Lost )
Press and Hold the Sleep/Wake Button and the Home Button at the Same Time...
Wait for the Apple logo to Appear...
Usually takes about 15 - 20 Seconds... ( But can take Longer...)
    Release the Buttons...
