My Sony icf-cs15ip docking station won't play music ,

My Sony ICF-CS15iP docking station won't play music from my iPhone 4s which is on iOS 7 but it will play my music from my old iPod touch, can anyone help me with a fix or let me know if I'll just have to get a new docking station, thanks in advance!

@Gscott1979, I had the same problem with both my ICF-CS15iP docking stations I have and was ready to throw them out the window.
Finally after almost 2 years using them just as a charging station I found the solution that worked for me.
And the solution could not be any simpler........ use the reset button on the bottom of the docking station. It is a small hole between the battery latch and the screw next to it. Just a paperclip will do.
If it does not work, you may also want to check this site

  • Need a remote for ICF-CS15iP docking station

I bought the Sony ICF-CS15iP ipod docking station/clock radio for a Christmas present for my daughter. I bought it at Wal-Mart and it was the last one they had. It's my understanding that it's now discontinued and Wal-Mart doesn't carry this exact docking station anymore.
When she opened it up Christmas morning, the remote control was missing. We would swap it out for another one, but Wal-Mart doesn't carry it anymore and they don't offer a comparable model in the same price range. I would like to just buy the remote if I could (if it isn't some ridiculous price). My daughter really liked this model and if I can't find a replacement remote, I'll have to buy another brand because there isn't a comparable sony in the same price range.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
    Dan B.

Thank you for your post and welcome to the forum.
The bundled remote control RMTCCS15IP, is Sony part number 9-885-158-43. If the unit was boxed, sealed and new (and not open box 'as is') then you are entitled to have the remote and not be charged. If the retailer is unable to supply the remote give Sony product support a call and they will be happy to assist you:

    Hi Robin,
    Welcome to Sony Community!
Make sure that iPod is securely docked into connector. Update software of iPod to latest version. Reset both the Docking Station and iPod.
    On the Docking station:
    Unplug the power cord.
    Wait approximately 10 seconds.
Plug the power cord back into the AC power outlet.
On the iPod player or iPhone device:
    1. Hold down both the Home and the Lock button at the same time.
    2. Wait approximately 10 seconds until the power on the unit turns off.
    3. Turn the power back on by holding down either the Home or the Lock button.
After reset, turn ON the Docking System and set the iPod on Dock connector and playback music.
Note: If the version of Operating System in iPod is updated to iOs 6, it might not be compatible with the Docking Station.
If my post answers your question, please mark it as "Accepted solution".
    Thank you for your post.

  • Problems playing music on Sony ICF-C1iP docking station

Had this docking station a couple of years and it's great, but since i downloaded the latest i-tunes on Friday I can't play music through it with my i-phone (but my phone still charges and an old old i-pod still works) - has anyone else had problems, is it anything to do with the update or not, any ideas?

Downloaded i-phone 4.1 at it seems to have resolved the issue.

  • Sony clock-radio docking station not compitable after 2.2.1 upgarde

After upgrading both my iPhones to 2.2.1, my Sony clock-radio docking station (icf-c1ipmk2)does not work with the iPhone anymore. The unit is made for iPhone and worked without any issues until the 2.2.1 upgrade.
Now every time I place the iPhone in the docking station, I get the following message on the iPhone:
"This accessory is not made to work with iPhone."
With the option to start in Airplane mode.
Is anyone else having the same issue? Is there any solution to this?

Just FYI i have the next generation of Sony clock Radio ICF-CD3i(the round one with the pop out dock) and guess what "This accessorie not campatible with iPhone" though i can quite past the warning message then it works fine. The interesting part is i tried it out on another one at the shop at time of purchase and it worked fine. So long and short going to return it get another one see if that works. Just seems like Sony (Love there products not bagging them)need to put more work into working out the compatibility from their end

  • Most radio stations won't play on main user account

Most radio stations won't play. In some instances double-clicking does nothing; other times, the name of the station appears, but nothing happens. When I use a different administrative account, these stations work just fine.
I've trashed and retrashed all the associated iTunes preferences, and have even done a complete deletion and re-install of iTunes (as per http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1224 ).
Thus it seems that the issue is with the account. But I don't know where to look to fix it, and I'm perplexed. Any suggestions? Thanks...

Back up all data before proceeding.
This procedure will unlock all your user files (not system files) and reset their ownership, permissions, and access controls to the default. If you've intentionally set special values for those attributes on any of your files, they will be reverted. In that case, either stop here, or be prepared to recreate the settings if necessary. Do so only after verifying that those settings didn't cause the problem. If none of this is meaningful to you, you don't need to worry about it, but you do need to follow the instructions below.
Start up in Recovery mode. When the OS X Utilities screen appears, select
              Utilities ▹ Terminal
from the menu bar. A Terminal window will open. In that window, type this:
    res
Press the tab key. The partial command you typed will automatically be completed to this:
    resetpassword
Press return. A Reset Password window will open. You’re not going to reset a password.
Select your startup volume ("Macintosh HD," unless you gave it a different name) if not already selected.
Select your username from the menu labeled Select the user account if not already selected.
Under Reset Home Directory Permissions and ACLs, click the Reset button.
    Select
               ▹ Restart
    from the menu bar.

  • I upgraded my iPod Touch 4th Gen yesterday.  Now it won't play music, which is the main thing I use it for.  Over 11,000 songs [it's a 64GB model] -- will I actually have to restore the device and re-add all that music?

I upgraded my iPod Touch 4th Gen yesterday.  Now it won't play music, which is the main thing I use it for.  Over 11,000 songs [it's a 64GB model] -- will I actually have to restore the device and re-add all that music?
[Music files are still there, and I can play them on my computer directly from the iPod [just one track at a time] but not in the usual way, through headphones.]
On the Summary page of iTunes for the iPod, it shows 50-plus gigabytes of "Other" content and no music, which was not previously the case.  I assume this is related to the problem.
I can bring up individual tracks on the iPod and see cover art, but cannot play the music.

iCloud is free, iTunes match is $25 a year.
I had the same problem and when I went to Settings I had 0 songs, even though they were obviously still there since I only had 15GB free on my 64GB device.
I decided to do a complete reset/restore of my 4th gen iPod Touch, Bad move! I've been messing with it for hours, and it simply won't restore--it keeps hanging on a black screen with an Apple logo and a progress bar at about 10%, sometimes it goes completely blank and tries again, with the same result. (I've posted my question/plea for help here: https://discussions.apple.com/message/19735862 )
I'm ready to bang my head against the wall! I can put the device in recovery mode, connect to iTunes on my computer, and get it back to the setup screen, but when I go through the process again and try to do an iCloud backup I get the same reset/restore loop.
I could start from scratch, but I really, really, really don't want to go through all of my hundreds of apps, reinstall them one by one, etc. etc. etc.
I thought that once I started using iCloud, I didn't need to sync with iTunes anymore--guess I was wrong.

My iPod Touch 5th Generation won't play music out loud. Why and what can i do to 'fix' it?

If you mean the headphones work but the speaker does not:
    - Try cleaning out/blowing out the headphone jack. Try inserting/removing the plug a dozen times or so. There is a little switch in the headphone jack that disconnects the speaker when the headphone jack is inserted.
Try the following to rule out a software problem
    - Reset the iPod. Nothing will be lost
Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
    - Restore from backup
    - Restore to factory settings/new iPod.
    - Make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store. Seems you have a bad headphone jack.
Apple Retail Store - Genius Bar
If not under warranty Apple will exchange your iPod for a refurbished one for this price. They do not fix yours.
    Apple - iPod Repair price
A third-party place like the following will replace the jack for less. Google for more.

    Replace the jack yourself
