My sparx is now just plain ipod..;c
I think i just ruined my ipod. ;c i accidentally restored it last night and after that the name "sparx" was replaced to just plain "ipod" im just wondering if i can still change it.
and one more thing.. whenever i connect it to itunes, the "update your ipod" command in the file menu doesnt work. how can i fix this? i tried installing and reinstalling my itunes.but it still doesnt work. im afraid i ruined my ipod for good.. and oh by the way.. the computer that i used was not the original library for my ipod. but the first time i plugged in my ipod it worked but aftr restoring it, the problem regardng the update thingy started.
pls help me.. my mom will be really disappointed if i cnt fix it..

I hardly think so!
First change the name. Look here.
How to rename your iPod.
When you restored it you put it back to factory settings, that's why the name changed to just "iPod".
If you mean the "update" option is greyed out and not selectable, then this could mean you have the iPod set to manual transfer.
Look in edit/preferences/iPod to check.
Incidentally, I'm curious as to how you "accidentally" restored your iPod?!

Ive Had 32gb IPOD Touch n now just got an 8gb IPHONE 4S. My question is how am I supposed to sync my iphone without it syncing my current library that is well over 32gb of info? In other words, can i pick and choose what I want to put on just iphone?
thanks but if Im using iCloud For my Iphone and backing my ipod touch to my computer is that ok or would I have to back both up to ICloud. As u can telll, I want to kep the 2 devices seperate as much as possible, only putting on my phone what i choose to download, buy, or take from my current itunes library most importantly.

My children just got iPods touch. I registered them on my account so they can have acces to my I tunes Acc. Now they have all my list of contacts receive my messages have my music my pics, also when they install an app like pandora they have all my stations, things that they don't want. How can I fix this.
As for iMessage, you do Settings -> Messages (scroll down) -> where it says iMessage, turn the switch to off.
As for pictures, you do Settings -> iCloud -> Photo Stream -> My Photo Stream -> turn switch off.
As for apps, you do Settings -> iTunes & App Stores (scroll down alot) -> Music, Apps, Books are all swtiched off.
If you want to the delete the music, you go onto the music app and slide your finger from right to left on the song. -
i need some help i have a 3G ipod touch the power button doesnt work at all but i got home and my screen is just plain white how do i fix this
Let the battery fully drain. After charging for an hour try a reset (may not work).
Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Then connect to your comnputer and try to restore.
- If the screen is still white then it appears yu have a hardware problem and appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order. -
This is the third iPod classic this has happened to, so it's not a fluke.
I upoaded a video podcast from iTunes. The video name, etc. displayed properly in the iPod, but when I tried to open it, the iPod crashed and now just continuously reboots. My iMac does not recognize the iPod anymore.

Have just installed latest iTunes version 11.1.4 and now my girls ipod touch gen 4 won't sync with computer. Do I need to reinstall iTunes? We do not have WiiFii. Please help - thanks
I have windows 8, I'm not sure if that has anything to do with anything, but i figured maybe 11.1.4 just doesn't like 8. soooo.. i went onto my computer settings and uninstalled anything and everything made my apple and then reinstalled itunes 11.1.3 and it now reads my ipod nano happy day thanks apple for making something that you can't help me with at all

Why weren't you able to download each day's gift ? Whilst the 12 Days app required iOS 7 to be able to install it on a device, each day's gift was available to download direct in the iTunes or App Store apps, or via iTunes on your computer. -

Hi I have just aquired a new MacBook Air and I want to stop using my old Dell laptop as my itunes synch with my ipod. Can I now sync the Ipod with the itunes account on my new Macbook? I am worried it will take hours to synch if I choose the erase and synch option?
Is all the content from your iTunes library on the old Dell laptop now on your MacBook air? If you copied the entire iTunes folder and copied it over the existing iTunes folder, your iPod will still think it is being synced to the same iTunes library and there would be no need to do an erase and sync.

Just bought ipod and went to istore and bought 2 songs. However does not seem to have synced to my ipod. How do i make sure device is recognized by istore. Should istore page be indicating its presence. First experience with ipod or istore and am very frustrated right now. Please help.
Wow that was really quick, thank you so much. Im not sure at all which version it was because i said it was around 4 years ago he bought it. I know it isn't under his username, since he's a PC person (ugh) so i know its probably registered to one of our actual names. isn't there some way to look it up since we did register it, because I'm not even sure where the disks are from when we bought it (we've moved a lot and also have two storage lockers, i know i would have kept it with other disks) but my cd rom drive is actually broken on my computer as well ( i think it got stepped on and is now squished and won't eject or run disks.)
So is there anyway they can look up that its registered to one of our names since we did register it when we bought and installed it, or do i really have to find the disk with some sort of proof of purchase (i know there would be no receipt after all this time)
either way, ill do what you suggested to the best of my abilities and thank you so much for answering my questions, i can't even open the program as its incompatible and find out the info from that) so I'm in a bit of a pickle and your response was so thorough and it didn't seem to be posted long enough to even write a well researched response, thanks, all the best,

If they have the cloud icon then they are in the cloud, not on your iPod. You can turn off the showing of iCloud music via Settings > iTunes & App Store > Music (under 'show all' heading) 'off'.
But if you have never bought/downloaded those songs then they shouldn't show in the cloud for streaming/redownloading - the U2 album was an exception, Apple automatically added that to everyone's account whether they wanted it or not. It's your account that shows as being logged in in Settings > iTunes & App Store ? -
How can I use my old iPhone 3GS as just an iPod.
I updated my old iphone 3GS to iOS 5.1 and now I can't use it as just an ipod. It won't sync without a SIM card. I don't need one. Can someone help me out?

Edit: You'll need a SIM card from the carrier it is locked to. Doesn't have to be an activated SIM card but needs to be in the phone to re-activate it. If you don't have one, ask you carrier if they have a deactivated one you can use. -

Yes, if you updated to iOS 7 you also got a new version of iBooks. The new iBooks app does not have the wooden shelf theme at all. The library has been re-styled for iOS 7 to be a plain white area listing your book or pdfs.
