My speakers won't turn on.
My output speakers won't turn on, every time I attempt to raise or lower the sound, the sound icon pops up and says it is at full volume. But then below the sound bar is a little white circle with a cross through it. But every time I plug in my headphones, the sound works perfectly. can anyone tell me what's wrong and how i can fix it? I've already tried rebooting, installing the latest update, and going to the sound preferences thing... Nothing has helped
Is there a red light coming out of the headphone port??
If so there is a micro switch stuck on in the port and it is telling the MacBook that an optical device is using the port...
Try gently wiggling the plug for the speakers in the port or trying a different plug...say for some headphones.....toothpick's have also been known to work...short of that you will need to take it in and have it looked at...

iTunes randomly crashed... hard.
I hard rebooted my computer, and now my speakers won't play any sounds.
when I press the volume keys, the logo for speakers is greyed out, and there is a circle with slash to indicate not allowed.
My volume bar in the menu bar is greyed out as well.
What in the name of all things holy is wrong with it and how can I fix it?I have gone into the sound settings, and my options for output are the internal speakers, and the audio aggregate device, neither of them work.
I have also tried plugging in and pullin out headphones to no effect, and whenever there is headphones inside the jack, the same lack of volume/ volume options happens.
I even tried resetting the special Rama by restarting and holding command+ alt + r + p, and. It made the startup spud, and nothing else.
If someone could help me, I have a gig in a week, and this is not something I really have the time to deal with.

I am getting the orange speaker light on my dv 6000. I have downloaded new drivers but this hasn't changed anything. It worked yesterday - now nothing. I use this for skype as I live outside my country so I need at least the USB headset to work. Can anyone help me?

I just updated my macbook pro OSX 10.8.2 and now the speakers won't turn off mute.
I did the software update, and upon restarting the speaker in the dock is off, and in the system preferences I am not allowed to uncheck the mute. Using the keyboard buttons doesn't work either.
I have had the same exact experience. I purchased my MacBook Pro about a month ago and I've been using the wireless Airport ever since with no problems whatsoever. Today I went to use my Mac and the "no airport card installed' message appeared as if I have no airport card. How can that be? I'm not sure what could have caused it. I have updated my mac as often as updates are available and all I can think is that the most recent has interfered. Any thoughts on what went wrong and how to fix it?

Internal speakers won't mute when audio jack in use
I recently fixed my problem of no sound coming out of any speakers (by turning off Auto-Mute Mode in alsamixer), but now when I plug earphones into the audio jack my built-in speakers don't turn off. I am positive that the audio jack is working, as there is sound coming through the earphones, but sound is also coming through the built-in ones. I am confused because when I first got Arch installed, my earphones would work but not the main speakers. Then nothing worked, and now it won't stop coming through both of them! I will be sure to check back regularly to update you with any information needed.

I was syncing my phone to itunes and then my phone automatically locked and now it won't turn back on but when i plug it into a charger it makes the charging sound.

K7N2 Delta ILSR won't turn off, just restarts. Every time I click on "Turn off computer" in Windows XP, it shuts down, but restarts again. Could this be OS related, or perhaps Bios related. My other machine, almost identical to this one, except that the other machine has BIOS rev 7.6 and this one 7.2.
PSUs seem to be yr favorite subject, but I'm afraid this time it's software. I experimented some more as the problem only occured after installing the Nvidia drivers. Comparing the system settings in the device manager before installing drivers and after installing them, reveils that the problem shows up when AGP HOST TO PCI BRIDGE is installed. When killing this item the PC shuts off properly. Unfortunately when turning back on, Windows automatically reinstalls the PCI bridge and I have the problem again. LOOKS LIKE A MSI SOFTWARE PROBLEM !
By the way I have a PCI graphics board and not AGP in the failing PC (the good one has AGP graphics).

I've got a problem with my iPhone 5s. I opened my iPhone to fix an issue with the home button (Watched a guide on youtube on how to achieve this), and I connected everything as it is supposed to go, my home button is working but now my screen won't turn on or the phone won't play any sounds. I know the phone it's on because I can connect it to the computer and the computer recognizes it. Also, I tried calling it, and it rings on the phone I am calling from, but my iPhone simply won't play any sounds...
I am also sure the phone is not in DFU mode.
Any help?

Remote app on my iOS devices control my apple tv, but won't turn my newest gen apple tv on when i open the app. It used to turn my previous gen apple tv on. Remote app controls apple tv just fine once i turn it on with the provided remote control. Help?

Thanks for the question, and great troubleshooting so far. To completely isolate the issue, you may want to follow these steps:
Will not turn on, will not turn on unless connected to power, or unexpected power off
- Verify that the Sleep/Wake button functions. If it does not function, inspect it for signs of damage. If the button is damaged or is not functioning when pressed, seek service.
- Check if a Liquid Contact Indicator (LCI) is activated or there are signs of corrosion.
Learn about LCIs and corrosion.
- Connect the iPhone to the iPhone's USB power adapter and let it charge for at least ten minutes.
- After at least 15 minutes, if:
- The home screen appears: The iPhone should be working. Update to the latest version of iOS if necessary. Continue charging it until it is completely charged and you see this battery icon in the upper-right corner of the screen . Then unplug the phone from power. If it immediately turns off, seek service.
- The low-battery image appears, even after the phone has charged for at least 20 minutes: See "iPhone displays the low-battery image and is unresponsive" symptom in this article.
- Something other than the Home screen or Low Battery image appears, continue with this article for further troubleshooting steps.
- If the iPhone did not turn on, reset it while connected to the iPhone USB power adapter.
- If the display turns on, go to step 4.
- If the display remains black, go to next step.
- Connect the iPhone to a computer and open iTunes. If iTunes recognizes the iPhone and indicates that it is in recovery mode, attempt to

My iPhone 5 won't turn on at all and then when I plug it into a power source either into a plug socket or into my laptop with the USB cable it keeps showing start up screen with apple logo over and over again on a loop.
I have tried holding the top and front button together, this didn't work. I have also tried connecting to my laptop and following the reboot steps that I found on another discussion forum. Neither worked for me. The phone just won't reboot and it keeps continuing to loop the apple logo screen over and over without me touching anything.
The iPhone won't even connect to itunes and so itunes seems to not recognise my phone because its not even turning on (just continually apple logo screen appears for 5 seconds, goes to black screen and then repeats).
I don't know what is happening to it! Can anyone help? Is it a fault with the hardware or have I dont something to it? The next appointment at the genius bar for me is monday so I'm going to keep looking for any more recent ones until then but I really need to get it sorted before then so if anyone can help that would be great!

Press and hold the Home and On/Off buttons simultaneously until you see the Apple logo, then release. This may take up to 10 seconds. This is the equivalent of a re-boot and you will not lose any data.
See if it will charge after this. -

Hi, can I somehow save individual custom Swatch folders? It seems to save only the "Default Swatches" folder (which makes the option for other folders somewhat pointless)... Is it also possible to adjust the size of the swatch icons/squares? Thanks.
