My sreen will not change orientation will in tablet mode

Can someone tell me how to adjust the screen orientation while in tablet mode.  The hot button on the side does not work

Is there a lock symbol at the top of the screen next to the battery indicator ? If so, then depending on what you've got Settings > General > Use Side Switch To set to (rotation lock or mute notifications), then you can lock/unlock the rotation by the switch on the right hand side of the iPad, or via the taskbar : double-click the home button; slide from the left; and it's the icon far left; press home again to exit the taskbar. The function that isn't on the side switch is set via the taskbar instead : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4085
If there isn't a lock symbol then try a reset : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.

  • IPhone 6 Camera App Not Changing Orientation?

Been loving the iPhone 6's new, sharper Camera, but there's been an issue with the Camera app not following orientation changes to the phone. I've set the Compass calibration, and everything seems fine on that front, but the Camera app will not change from portrait to landscape when flipped in either still or video mode. Have there been any similar issues reported?

Thank you for your reply markwmsn, I am new to this support site, and from what I read on the "Apple Support Communities Use Agreement" it says: "Apple may respond to questions".
Anyway, back to the topic, I found another post related to this one that may help, since another user said it seemed to fix the issue for him. Here's the link:

  • Why does my iPhone4S not change orientation to landscape when turned in messaging but does turn in other functions?

My iPhone 4S doesn't want to change orientation from portrait to landscape when turned - while in messaging.
It turns fine in other functions...??

What are these other apps? Because for some applications, landscape view is not possible, like calender.

  • How to change to 10-inch tablet mode on 7-inch tablets

Well, the title says it all. It has been asked before, but has not been answered. The reason is that I think the interface looks a bit too large, so I hope there is an easy way to switch between those modes. Please help :)

''How does Firefox even know what layout to use?''
I'm just guessing, but presumably Android (like other operating systems) provides a standard method for querying about the screen's resolution and perhaps also its dimensions.

    Hi vijenderreddy,
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.  This article has some steps to try if your iPhone is unexpectedly powering off:
    iPhone: Hardware troubleshooting
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ts2802
Will not turn on, will not turn on unless connected to power, or unexpected power off
Verify that the Sleep/Wake button functions. If it does not function, inspect it for signs of damage. If the button is damaged or is not functioning when pressed, seek service.
Check if a Liquid Contact Indicator (LCI) is activated or there are signs of corrosion. Learn about LCIsand corrosion.
Connect the iPhone to the iPhone's USB power adapter and let it charge for at least ten minutes.
After at least 30 minutes, if:
The home screen appears: The iPhone should be working. Update to the latest version of iOS if necessary. Continue charging it until it is completely charged and you see this battery icon in the upper-right corner of the screen . Then unplug the phone from power. If it immediately turns off, seek service.
The low-battery image appears, even after the phone has charged for at least 20 minutes: See "iPhone displays the low-battery image and is unresponsive" symptom in this article.
Something other than the Home screen or Low Battery image appears, continue with this article for further troubleshooting steps.
If the iPhone did not turn on, reset it while connected to the iPhone USB power adapter.
If the display turns on, go to step 4.
If the display remains black, go to next step.
Connect the iPhone to a computer and open iTunes. If iTunes recognizes the iPhone and indicates that it is in recovery mode, attempt to restore the iPhone. If the iPhone doesn't appear in iTunes or if you have difficulties in restoring the iPhone, see this article for further assistance.
If restoring the iPhone resolved the issue, go to step 4. If restoring the iPhone did not solve the issue, seek service.
For the issue of images not changing orientation, see this article:

    The user guide says:
Movies viewed in Videos and YouTube appear only in landscape orientation. Street views in Maps
also appear only in landscape orientation.
Do you have the scree orientation lock turned on? If on there is a circular arrow icon with a padlock inside next to the battery charge icon in the upper right.

  • The display on my iPhone only works vertically.  It will not change when I rotate my phone.

The display on my iPhone only works vertically.  It will not change when I rotate my phone.

Swipe up on the bottom of the screen to expose control center and see if the orientation lock is on (top row of controls, far right; looks like a lock with a circular arrow).
Not all apps support orientation changes, BTW.

  • Phone screen will not change when turned

Just recently the phone screen will not change direction whn the the phone is rotated. Any ideas?

Double-tap the Home button to bring up the background applications. Then scroll to the left until you see a gray icon with a circular arrow -- that locks/ unlocks the screen orientation.

  • My ipod will not change plane, horizontal to vertical, vice versa

My iPod Touch 4 will not change plane, horizontal/vertical when it is flipped or shaken. It just stays in the upright position.

Make sure the orientation lock has not been enabled.  Double click the home button and swipe your finger to the right.  You should see an arrow forming a circle.  If there is a padlock inside of it, tap it once to disable the orientation lock.
    Any luck there?

My photos will not sync to my Apple TV (1st generation), ipad, iphone, or itouch. They used to be there but upon recent syncs with all devices they have all gone. I am totally baffled as I have not changed settings?

I had the same thing happen to me.  It's a bug in iPhoto 9.4.2.
The first time you run iPhoto after upgrading to iPhoto 9.4.2, it "updates the iPhoto library".  This sometimes tickles a bug where iTunes can see all your iPhoto albums, but iTunes thinks they are empty.  Since iTunes thinks all your albums are empty, it dutifully deletes any photos from your synced iOS devices.
It's easy to tell if this is the problem you are seeing.  Open iTunes and go to the photos sync panel for one of your iOS devices.  If you have multiple albums checked, but iTunes shows a total of 0 photos, then you have the problem.
I spent an hour with an Apple Genius.  he couldn't find any mention of this problem in their internal support system.  His recomendation was to reinstall the operating the system.  I suspect that this won't solve it.
The only solution I have found is to restore iPhoto 9.4.1 and the corresponding iPhoto library from your backups.
I would refrain from upgrading to iPhoto 9.4.2 until Apple has a fix for this issue.

  • My old itunes id was an email that no longer can be used, therefore, I can not change the password for that account.  Everything that I purchased under that id name will not play.  How can I fix this?

I no longer have an email address that was also my Apple ID. Can I still use the email address as my Apple ID?
Apple recommends you change your Apple ID to your current, working email address. This will not create another Apple ID, it will only change it to your working email address. See Changing the name you use for your Apple ID if you'd like more information.
Note: @mac.com and @me.com Apple IDs can not be renamed.  If you no longer use the .mac or .me email address be sure to add your valid email address as an additional email address.
