My stolen iPod was located

My stolen iPod was located in Wisconsin.  I don't know what to do.  I even have the physical address. What should I do? Should I alert the authorities?

Tell the police.

  • How do i track my stolen ipod to locate it?

someone stole my ipod how do i track it?

    - If you previously turned on FIndMyiPod on the iPod in Settings>iCloud and wifi is on and connected go to iCloud: Find My iPhone, sign in and go to FIndMyiPhone. If the iPod has been restored it will never show up.
    - You can also wipe/erase the iPod and have to iPod play a sound via iCloud.
    - Change the passwords for all accounts used on the iPod and report to police
    - There is no way to prevent someone from restoring the iPod (it erases it) using it.

  • My ipod was stolen and i need to know if there is a way to locate where its been registered or plugged in i have the serial number.

hello my name is marco and my ipod was stolen during school its a 4th generation 32gb. i need help in how to start a process to finding it or tracking it i also have the serial number if that helps, the phone number to apple where i can report it missing would really help! incase someone uses it and attempts to register it can i get the location to where this attempt was made i.p. adress etc. please i need help this ipod is precious to me and its something that i can't just forget about.

If you haven't turned on FindMyiPhone in settings (yes, even for the iPod), there's nothing you can do. Apple will not help you find it using the serial number.  If you did turn it on and the thief doesn't get into the iPod (you did have a passcode set, right?), then go to iCloud website using a browser, log in and try finding the iPod.  Unless the thief reset the device to factory settings, and if the wifi isn't off, it's location should show on the map.  After that it's up to you to report its location to the police.

  • I had the "find my iphone" app and deleted it and then my ipod was stolen. can my ipod still be located ?

i had the "find my iphone" app and deleted it and then my ipod was stolen. can my ipod still be located ?

Apple will not track it for you unless with Find my iPod. Again, whether you have the app or not doesn't matter, I believe you still had the service enabled. It doesn't hurt to try. http://icloud.com, click Find my iPhone after you sign in.

  • Can I enable location services from my computer???? My Ipod was stolen

My Ipod was stolen and the location services were turned off. Is there any way I can turn them back on from my computer????

If you set up the Find My iPod service (which is different from Location Services) prior to the iPod going missing, then there is a chance that can be tracked, though it depends on a number of factors (the iPod is turned on, connected to a WiFi network, and has not had the Find My iPod service disabled or the iPod been completely restored).
If you did not set up Find My iPod, then there is no way to track it. Contact the police and change any passwords for any online accounts you may have used from your iPod (the iTunes Store, for instance).
    Regards.

  • TS4006 My ipod was stolen and I was trying to track it via icloud but they've disabled the location services. Will they still receive my "Find My iPod" messages?

My ipod was stolen and I was trying to track it via icloud but they've disabled the location services. Will they still receive my "Find My iPod" messages?

If they disabled services, then they disabled Find My iPhone (if they're smart), so you won't be able to track it and/or wipe it.  Messages won't work either.

  • Someone stole my ipod while i was at school. i was wondering if apple is able to locate the stolen ipod through a serial number considering i still have it.  i also have another ipod linked to the same itunes account if that means anything.

Hi, someone stole my ipod during school. I was hoping that apple would be able to find my ipod through the serial number.  the stolen ipod is linked to the same itunes account as one of my other ipods... if that means anything.  another thing is the passcode was on when it was taken so who ever stole it probably isn't having much luck getting into it. anyways, i would be glad to hear anyone's ideas on how to get it back

Change your iTunes (Apple ID) password along with any other password that was stored in the iPod.  If any passwords are associated with credit cards, contact the CC company and get your card replaced (with a new number).  If any passwords are associated with a bank or any other savings institution, contact them also and discuss approprate action with them.
The "Find my..." function is pretty much useless if the device is in the hands of a thief.  All that is necessary is for the thief to connect to any computer with iTunes and "Restore as new."
The only real protection you have is with the personal information on the device rather than the physical device itself.  This requires action before the device is lost/stolen.  If the device has significant personal information, it should have a strong 8-digit (or longer) password AND be configured for automatic wipe in the event of ten consecutive incorrect password entries.

  • My iPod was stolen about 2 days, but I don't have iCloud turned on the iPod. Help?

Okay, so about 2 days ago, my iPod was stolen from my bag. My older sister and I have been trying to locate it, but we can't because I believe that iCloud isn't turned on on the iPod. We've been to the iCloud website and I'm pretty sure I have the Find my iPhone (iPod) app, but without iCloud, we just can't locate it. It's really stressing me out. I've got the serial number, but we're not sure if we should bring the police into this. Yes, it is considered a theft, but it could have been just a little elementary schooler who took it. Either way, I just want it back.
My older sister is planning to call the police if her college professor, a computer technician, doesn't reply to her e-mail. She wants to see if he could track down the IP address from a post on my Facebook last night via iOS. That might take a while, so could someone please help me? I really just want to get my iPod. It has all my personal texts, pictures, and files on there. The thief may have deleted everything, and I don't think I could retrieve the lost data.

  • How to report that my ipod was stolen

my ipod was stolen but has a password on it can anybody help me track it with mobile me on it

    See:
Reporting a lost or stolen Apple product
Go to icloud.com. Sing in and click on FIndMyiPhone. If wifi is on and connected, yu can find its general location. You can also send it a message that is displayed and wipe the iPod. If you wipe it you can not longer locate or comunicate with it. The find feature can be disabled by turning the iPod off. It can be permently removed by restoring the ioOd.
Apple will not help with anything
Report it to the police and change passwords for all accounts used on the iPod.

  • TS4006 how can i locate a STOLEN ipod immediantly ?

How can i LOCATE a STOLEN ipod ?

It can only be located if you enabled Find My iPod on it before it was stolen.  It also would have to have be turned on with connection to the internet and still have your iCloud settings intact in order for it to be tracked.  (Unfortunately, criminals often restore them as new devices so they cannot be tracked.)
If you enabled this before it was stolen, you can try going to icloud.com on your computer to track it as described here: http://help.apple.com/icloud/#mmfc0f2442.

If you set up the Find My iPod service prior to the iPod going missing, then there is a chance that can be tracked, though it depends on a number of factors (the iPod is turned on, connected to a WiFi network, and has not had the Find My iPod service disabled). Log into icloud.com and go to the Find My iPhone section. Then contact the police, giving them any location information you get.
If you did not set up Find My iPod, then there is no way to track it. Notify the police and change any passwords for any online accounts you may have used from your iPod (the iTunes Store, for instance).

My ipod was stolen 2 days ago and i need to know is there a way i can get into my account with itunes a delete everything (Photos, music, etc..???

If you set up the Find My iPod service prior to the iPod going missing, then there is a chance that can be contacted and erased, though it depends on a number of factors: the iPod is turned on, connected to a WiFi network, and has not had the Find My iPod service disabled. Log into icloud.com and go to the Find My iPhone section. Note, though, that once you erase the iPod, there wont be any way to track it, so you probably will want to note any location information it gives you first so you can give that to the police.
If you did not set up Find My iPod, then there is no way to track nor erase it remotely. If you had a screenlock passcode set, though, then the thief or whoever they give or sell the iPod will will have to restore it to use it, and that will erase everything.
    Regards.

  • Stolen iPod Nano - How can I locate it?

I recently purchased my iPod Nano and use it daily in the gym. Tonight I was at a drug store and the iPod Nano was stolen from my van. I have (of course) the serial number and previously registered the product through Apple. Is there anyway Apple can help me locate where the stolen iPod Nano is, or help the Police locate it soon?

Apple have no procedure to track, trace or block your iPod from use, the best thing you can do is inform your local police. As you have the serial number make sure that you have it quoted in the report. Since your iPod was registered with Apple when you first got it, that will assist the Police in returning it to you should it ever be recovered: How to report lost or stolen Apple product?
