  • My 3 finger gestures are not working!

When I go on safari, iphoto, or any other program i can't go back with the 3 finger swipe gesture. And the strange thing is I can go forward! I checked in system preferences and it seems to be normal. The only thing I can think of is that a program I installed, Multiclutch, affected it. But I think I uninstalled it completely (I'm new to a mac.) Someone please help me.

I figured it out! I reinstalled multiclutch and found that the swipe left gesture was set on a different setting. I got rid of it and all is well with the gestures!

  • Apple OSX 10.7 hand gestures do not work in Fire Fox 5.1

I have upgraded my IMac to OSX 5.1(Lion) and I have upgraded Firefox to version 5.1. I have noticed that only some of the hand gestures that are provided for in Lion work in Fairefox. (They all seem to work in Safari) Is the next upgrade of Firefox going to fix this problem?

Thank goodness some people are finally posting this issue.  I have several different Macs -- a Mac Mini, a Retina 15 Macbook Pro, 13 Macbook Air, and a 15 non-retina Macbook pro all running Mavericks.  I haven't had this problem of multitouch gestures not working but this is getting very problematic.  My two finger gestures continue to work, it's the three and four finger gestures that are not working -- especially the fullscreen switching.  That was one of the highlights of this OS release -- the multi-display fullscreen switching.  It works great until the computer falls asleep.  Hoping there is some type of easy fix.  Tried the general stuff, but it doesn't do anything for this problem.

  • The trackpad/gestures is not working correctly on mountain lion

    Hello,
After I have downloaded Mountain Lion, my trackpad/gestures is not working correctly.  I cannot swipe with the three fingers, etc. and have to reboot and then it works, but will eventually not work over time.  Does anyone else have this problem?
    Thanks,
    Jeff

I am having the same problem now.
Was okay when first installed on date of Mountain Lion release.
Now I have lost function in Spaces.
Spaces would only work if I used Dock icon to move between Spaces.
Now just run everything in one Space.

A better solution is to try a number of better, free alternatives. Consider
    LibreOffice (donation-supported)
    NeoOffice (free)
    OpenOffice (free)
I use Apple's Pages ($19.99) as well as OpenOffice and have been completely Microsoft - free for over a year now. Life is better without Microsoft.

  • Two finger scrolling does not work on my MacBook (late 2008)

Two finger scrolling does not work on my MacBook (late 2008) with either the notebook trackpad or a b/t conected magic trackpad.  Yes, I've set system preferences.  Suspect a driver or s/w problem.  Ideas?

Saw another post that hinted that you need to go to accessibility settings:
System Preferences > UniversalAccess > Mouse & Trackpad > Trackpad Options
Enable scrolling (and I enabled dragging while I was at it and it worked.  Looks like wierd things can get set even if you don't mean it to.

  • MB Air two finger scroll does not work for a user but does for another

    Hi
    MB Air. 10.9.3.
Defective Trackpad was just replaced. Two finger scroll does not work for the main user. I made a test log in and two finger scroll works. I booted off an external drive and two finger scroll works.
I pulled all of the user preferences out, logged out and in and still does not work. Zapped PRAM. Checked all trackpad settings. No luck.
    Tried this in Terminal:
    defaults write -g com.apple.trackpad.scrollBehavior 2
    Any ideas?

This sounds strange but check the settings in Settings>Accessability for the track pad. I belive your problem lies there not in Track Pad set up in Settings.

  • Help! Trackpad gestures are not working properly after Yosemite update

So yesterday I updated my MBA to Yosemite. And since then I'm facing severe problems with my trackpad. Scroll and click gesture works as usual, but the other gestures suddenly stops working. I even checked my trackpad settings, but couldn't find any setting issues there. They won't just respond to any. Is it just me or everyone is facing such issues.

worse than that, my MacBook Pro FREEZES when using 4 finger swipe on the built-in trackpad for App Expose after upgrade to 10.10.1
Before 10.10.1 everything was working fine. Now, about one third of the time I use the 4 finger swipe the computer is dead (apparently mostly when using Numbers). I can still use the mouse but no response to clicks, keyboard, trackpad, or screaming out loud. All I can do is turn it off!
This (in combination with Mail issues) is so bad that for the first time since using Mac I start thinking going back to PC...

  • Issue: Gesture back not working

So this is only a problem that I've recently encountered, and I'm not sure why it started happening or when exactly (besides within this past week, and I've had the phone since July).
Basically, the back gesture doesn't work anymore.  When I'm in the browser or an app like Messaging or Sounds & Ringtones, when I go into a screen (that normally you can go back to a previous screen from), it doesn't go back when I gesture it to anymore.  Instead, the screen slides left and then back into the original place without having gone back, it's still on the same screen/page.  I have been able to go back though, but this requires that I swipe back several times in rapid succession, but this is rather annoying and not how it should function.

You've probably turned on "advanced gestures" in your Screen & Lock preferences. This makes the full "back" gesture switch between cards rather than go back. If you only have one card open it will just quickly shift a little and them pop back. If you have multiple cards open you can page left (or right) to get to the other cards.
If you swipe left starting at the middle button, then this will do a "back". Or you can turn off the advanced gestures and you'll get your original behavior.

  • Two-finger pinch zoom not working with safari

Suddenly, the two-finger pinch to zoom is not working with Safari. MBP 13", SL 10.6.8 andf Safari 5.1. The View Menu Zoom control works fine, and the Pinch gesture works once thereafter, but then not. I have reloaded the Safari .plist. Gesture works with the Desktop icons and iPhoto. Any suggestions?
    TIA

    Ditto with the Newsstand-blocks-the-Home-Screen bug.
I was eager to see the revised New York Times layout and disappointed when Newsstand wouldn't pinch closed.
The irony is, we can finally "hide" the Newsstand in a folder but now it takes over our Home Screens. I'm hoping this will be fixed in the first update.

  • Two finger scrolling does not work ONLY on Firefox

This just started today, suddenly my two finger scrolling doesn't work but only when I'm in Firefox, offline and on Safari and Chrome it's fine. Restarting Firefox only fixes it for a few minutes, then it stops working again. All of the suggestions I've found that I've tried haven't worked, please if anyone could help and also break it down fairly easily, I'd really appreciate it.

Does this happen in Safe Mode?
'''Try Firefox Safe Mode''' to see if the problem goes away. [[Troubleshoot Firefox issues using Safe Mode|Firefox Safe Mode]] is a troubleshooting mode that temporarily turns off hardware acceleration, resets some settings, and disables add-ons (extensions and themes).
If Firefox is open, you can restart in Firefox Safe Mode from the Help menu:
*In Firefox 29.0 and above, click the menu button [[Image:New Fx Menu]], click Help [[Image:Help-29]] and select ''Restart with Add-ons Disabled''.
*In previous Firefox versions, click on the Firefox button at the top left of the Firefox window and click on ''Help'' (or click on ''Help'' in the Menu bar, if you don't have a Firefox button) then click on ''Restart with Add-ons Disabled''.
If Firefox is not running, you can start Firefox in Safe Mode as follows:
    * On Windows: Hold the '''Shift''' key when you open the Firefox desktop or Start menu shortcut.
    * On Mac: Hold the '''option''' key while starting Firefox.
    * On Linux: Quit Firefox, go to your Terminal and run ''firefox -safe-mode'' <br>(you may need to specify the Firefox installation path e.g. /usr/lib/firefox)
When the Firefox Safe Mode window appears, select "Start in Safe Mode".

'''''If the issue is not present in Firefox Safe Mode''''', your problem is probably caused by an extension, theme, or hardware acceleration. Please follow the steps in the [[Troubleshoot extensions, themes and hardware acceleration issues to solve common Firefox problems]] article to find the cause.
''To exit Firefox Safe Mode, just close Firefox and wait a few seconds before opening Firefox for normal use again.''

The same issue happens on Firefox 35.0 running in safe mode, Mavericks 10.9.5, both with Magic Mouse and normal standard mouse...
It's unbeliaveble this issue is going on since more than one year ago, I can find people complaining about it since December 2013!
Oh, one more thing: I don't have a two finger swipe configuration, I have single finger swipe, so the actual problem is about scrolling the page in itself (considering I've tested it with a normal standard mouse as well....).
