Hey...
I just got at k700i and in the beginning i worked fine with isync but then suddently i startet to fail every time i tryed... I dont think I have changen any thing but the name of the phone... Do anybody know what there can be wrong?
The computer write:
[MH-Phone] Connection to the phone failed.
Please make sure that your phone is turned on. If this error occurs again, please restart your phone.
Device "MH-Phone" synchronization failed
The phone write:
session failed
communication got disconnected
I really hope some one can help...

This is a known problem with iSync 2.2 and has been the subject of a number of threads on here already.

BE WARNED, that this is a hack, and requires direct editing of files within the iSync application. DO NOT attempt this hack if you are not at all competent in doing so. It is very possible to break iSync if you are not careful.
If you decide to proceed, make sure you do adequate backups before starting. Then read ALL the instructions VERY carefully and fully a couple of times before going ahead.

Mac issues with iSync and N95

I have just upgraded to an N95. I run an iMac with OSX 10.4.11 & iSync 2.4 and have installed the Nokia iSync plugin (and the Multimedia Transfer software. I have no SD or SDHC card installed in the N95.
I connect the N95 in PC Suite mode as recommended.
When I click Sync Devices in iSync, contacts are transferred from the N95 to the Mac, but not from the Mac to the N95. This occurs using both the "Merge data..." and "Erase data..." settings in iSync.
As my old phone (Sony Ericsson K800i) and the N95 are not Bluetooth compatible (when are manufacturers going to sort that one out), I have transferred contacts from the K800i to the Mac and want to get them onto the N95 without doing them one by one via Bluetooth on the Mac.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Sometimes the iSync setup gets a little confused, sometimes there is some problem with the system. Same steps apply for problems with iCal.
Your combination should work perfeclty.
So there are some things to try:
0.) MAKE A BACKUP OF YOUR ADRESS - BOOK. Adress Book -> Make Backup.
1.) The usual:
- remove the BT pairing in System Settings -> Bluetooth/Devices and o your phone (Menu/connections/BT/devices)
- repair disk permissions with Hard Disk Utility
- re - pair phone and Mac.
If that does not cure your problem, try resetting the Sync - log. iSync -> Settings - Reset Sync Log (do not know the english word for ist...)
If that does not work, create a new group in Adress Book, Quit and restart iSync, klick on your device and look under the Adress - Popup, if your new group is there.
If so, maybe your contacts database is corrupted. Select all contacts, drag them to the Desktop. Warning: If you have groups, you will loose them! (Not the contacts, only the association with the groups)
Quit AddressBook.
Go to: Users/Your user/Library/Application support/AddressBook, copy all the files to your desktop.
Restart AddressBook. Drag teh exported contacts back to the AddressBook - window.
If the new group/calender do not appear in the iSync - prefs,
Quit iSync
Goto Users/Your user/Library/Application support/iSync/ and drag the SyncLocalCopy to your Desktop
Restart iSync.
That schould do the trick...

Xperia Z1, Problem with OTG and Sony PS3 Headset Pulse USB Adapter

Hi, I did a bit of testing, with headphones Sony PS3 Wireless Headset Pulse , I state that both the adapter and the Sony Pulse Headphones work perfectly on PC and PS3 via the USB adapter , then connect the adapter via USB OTG connection on the Sony Xperia Z1 . With much regret I noticed that the connection between the USB adapter and headphones was established , but the audio was transmitted jerky and scratchy . So I decided to try again via USB OTG headphones Logitech F540 (again, via USB OTG, not via audio jack) , and with much enthusiasm I noticed a connection quick and efficient , without cawing and smoothly ; clear sound as if they were of the headphones connected directly to the Audio Jack with wire . I then decided to try another pair of headphones USB (for PC) , the Creative HS -1200 , connecting via the USB OTG adapter receiver headphones ( ie the same thing I did with Sony and the Logitech ) ; also in this case the Creative Wireless Headphones have received the sound from the USB receiver , without any problem or distortions . Now I want to understand how it might work all this variety of USB devices not Made by Sony , connected via the OTG port , but do not work Devices Made By Sony ? You can solve this problem with the Firmware right?
The firmware installed in my Xperia Z1 is 14.1.G.1.534 .
The OTG cable is fully functional with a multitude of devices (USB HD 2.5 Inch, USB pendrive, USB Audio, USB Mouse and keyboard).
For your info, I already tried to connect the OTG, to a powered USB 2.0 HUB, and on the HUB USB, connect the adapter from Sony and the result is one and the same. The USB adapter will light as the Sony Z1 directly connected to the OTG, but the sound from the speakers gets crackling and jerky. I tried to connect the USB adapter of Sony headphones, and then connect the cable from USB jack to the audio jack of Z1, and of course the audio works perfectly, because it bypasses the USB audio sent by Z1, going to use the 'Jack audio input, and using the USB Headset adapter (Sony Pulse) as a simple transmitter.

Edit: i have try with samsung S3 and Samsung S4 with OTG and the Sony HeadSet Pulse work fine with the USB Dongle. The problem is on the firmware audio of the Xperia Z1.

Or the second i know and it's not possible to fix , they can happen on any audio device with any pc or other host
You can try your headset over a usb hub with a extern power source and connect the usb hud on your phone , if this not continu it's a power problem with the usb port
Sometime a usb port cannot provide suffisent power and that affect the audio or any data transfer , a usb hub provide on each port the power they need so when you cronnect your headset that give the good power to him
Few friends know this issue with a variety of device
One use one device on each port on his pc and there happen the pc cannot provide suffisent power for his headset , I suggest to use the minimal on his usb port and he don't have the problem , I suggest to buy a usb port power by an external source and that fixed the problem
If his your problem no update can fix that for fixing you need a Y cable to give more power to the usb port of your celphone and using a external power source (portable charging , solar panel custom 5v usb port with AA batterie)

Problems with isync and itunse and ical

Hello,
i can't sync my ical Calendar with my new ipod with itunes and with isync for my Nokia.
When I select in isync die Calendar, an Dialog shows: "Es wurde kein beschreibbarer Kalender gefunden".
In itunes it shows: "Kein Kalender vorhanden".
I use actualy Leopard. In ical all shows fine, in MenuCalenderClock too.
Any Ideas?

this worked for me:
1) exporting all my calenders one by one (NOT making one backup for all calenders by "sicherungskopie")
2) closing calendar & calendar related apps
3) clearing the calender cache (user/library/cache/ical)
4) deleting the calender plist (com.apple.ical.plist --> found in users/library/preferences)
5) log out & log in
6) creating new calenders (previous names are allowed)
7) importing the old calenders from the export-files
8) opening isync/ituns

E73 Compatibility with iSync and Nokia Multimedia ...

Just switched from an N95 to a E73 and can't get my Mac to sync with the phone. Are there updates available or planned?

I am having the same problem. My E73 is unlocked (purchased from ebay). The phone works well in every other respect but I cannot get iSync to recognize it, nor can I get the plug-in from Nova Media to recognize it. I'm now wondering if there is something about the unlocking process that is preventing the kind of bluetooth connection iSync needs.
If anyone has info., please reply. I have been investigating and working on this for over a week. If I cannot sync my data, I'll have to get rid of this phone.
I've attached a picture of what Nova Media's application says. As you can see, my Mac won't even provide the right icon for the E73, whereas it does for the E71 and E7. (I've sold the E71 and returned the E7, so I can't use them).

Problem getting fullscreen resolution with MBP and Sony Bravia KDL-40W2000

I usually dont post much on forums so sorry if my question is noobih but this time i think i need help so please bear with me. I have searched the web and read lots of posts without anything that helps.
I recently got my new MBP 15 last week and wanted to watch a movie on my Sony Bravia KDL-40W2000 TV using XBMC.
So i connected my MBP using the original Display port - DVI converter and then a DVI-HDMI converter. So my picture was connected to the HDMI port of my Sony tv.
After a few adjustments on my Tv using pixel for pixel the best picture i could get was almost 85% of my tv which left me black edged. Using the OSX display setting i got 1080i so i also tested SwitchResX and got out 1080p (1920x1080) but the picture looked the same as 1080i,e.g i still had the black edges. Really cant understand why 1080p does not cover the whole screen to be honest, maybe someone have a good explanation?
When i removed the display mirroring i got the full-screen but on the downside the desktop (on tv) looked somewhat zoomed in so i couldn't see the top-menu.
I also played around with overscan but it did not help to remove it. Without overscan the picture gets even smaller on my tv leaving my with even bigger black edges.
I cant figure out how to get the proper resolution on my tv.
I hope someone with similar TV can help me out. Any other suggestion, ideas are more then welcome.
ps. How does overscan option works anyway, is it not suppose to cover the whole tv screen? why does the picture get the black edges?

Cant sync contracts with isync and e815

running 10.4.8 and isync 2.3, I cant seem to sync these things together to transfer my contracts from my mac to my e815.
does anyone know why?

BBefore you head off to the Genius Bar, you did try basic steps like, quitting iTunes, rebooting the Mac and resetting the iPad? And by resetting the iPad I mean holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10 seconds until the Apple logo appears on the screen. That resets the iPad system and can help with a whole lot of weird issues.
Something else that migh help is Settings>General>Reset>Reset all Settings. That resets all device settings to defaults and sometimes corrupt settings on the iPad can cause problems. No data is lost if you do this, but you will have to enter all of the device settings again.

10.4.6 update problems with isync and idisk, and shutting down.

I downloaded the 10.4.6 update and my Idisk no longer mounts automatically after logging in. I can make it mount if I do a search for it, and then double click on the icon. Once it does mount, it will not sync when I add new files to it.
I have repaired permissions a couple of times, but it still doesn't work. I also can't shut down until I see an error message about "mirror agent". What should I do?

I have also started to have a problem with iSync and my SE K750i. since upgrading to 10.4.8. I can connect the phone using the built in Bluetooth, and browse the deivce etc, but when I try to iSync my contact list and calendar it just fails.
The log states:

Few days ago I lost some of my cell contacts and calendars syncronized with yahoo and gmail. I tried to resync again, reopening the account but it appears an advise telling: the contact sync coulnd't not be done, please train again later. I tried later many times but I cant. Some one has a solution????

Does anybody know of a free solution to configure iSync/ address book with a Sony Ericsson Z710i?

Switching to AT&T Cingular - best phone for use with Mac and iSync

Dear Friends,
I am finally about to be free from Sprint's poor customer service. I will be switching to AT&T / Cingular. (Not quite ready to buy an iPhone, but don't want to be locked into a 2 year contract with another provider).
I want to use Apple's iSync. I have reviewed the list of compatible devices and scanned the forums for related topics.
I'm still left wondering:
What is the best phone to get with AT&T for use with iSync?
I would like to sync contacts both ways. If possible, syncing cal events and to-dos would be nice, but not as important as contacts.
I prefer small flip phones. I don't plan to buy the Media pack service that includes text, web, etc. Instead, I will use the phone for calls and occassional text messages.
Sound quality and the ease of use are the most important features for me. I prefer raised keys to the flat keypads, but could give on this if need be.
Finally, using the phone as a modem with my laptop would be nice, but is not essential.

I am facing the exact same question regarding, e.g., the Nokia 6126. There are several references:
1. Go to the Nova Media web site and look at their new product, Fone Link. Or their iSynch Plugins

But what I don't yet understand is whether or not any of these suggestions/solutions are affected by the carrier. My understanding is that the 6126 is the North America Version of the 6131. But I talked to ATT/Cingular support yesterday and they make some modifications to the phone software. They don't know if the ATT 6126 will synch with a Mac. Of course they know the answer if synching with a PC (!!)

ISync 2.4 and Sony Ericsson T610

I have always stored contacts in my T610 as "Last Name, First Name" and never had a problem syncing with my Mac address book. Now with iSync 2.4, "Last Name," ends up in the First Name field and "First Name" ends up in the Last Name field. This seems like a bug. Has anyone else seen this?

Maybe I should have been more clear about this.
You cannot install iSync 2 or later using Pacifist from anything but a Mac OS X 10.4 or later Install or Upgrade DVD - either the one which shipped with your machine, or a commercial universal installer disk.
You don't have the option at the bottom of the Devices menu because, no matter what you might believe about the process you followed, you STILL have iSync 1.5 installed. The list of menu items you show is the view in iSync 1.5, not iSync 2 or later.
You need to locate your Mac OS X 10.4 or later disk or purchase a retain version, and then follow these instructions:
Launch Pacifist. Insert your Mac OS X 10.4 Install or Upgrade DVD in your optical drive and wait for it to mount. Press the now-activated Open Mac OS X Install Packages button in Pacifist. Wait for the window to appear - it will take some time to load all of the resources - then double click on the Contents of Essentials.pkg file to open it, double-click on the Applications folder, select iSync.app then press the Install button.
That will install a copy of iSync 2 into your Applications folder. Then run the Mac OS X 10.4.9—at minimum, or the 10.9.10 or 10.9.11—Combo update for PowerPC or intel processor based machines—whichever is appropriate for your platform—to update it to release 2.4.
There is no other way to do it: Pacifist. Original disk. That's it.
