My system hangs very often (SUDDENLY)

Hi there, hope someone can help me to fix that
I'm running Mac OS X 10.6.7 with kernel version Darwin 10.7.0 on my IMac 27" . Actually , the machine suddenly and very often hangs and the screen turns to strange pixels like puzzles till I reboot the system manually. the format would be a solution of it is a hardware issue? help me please

Basic Software troubleshooting

Restore with back up
Restore as new
Each step as required,i
f the issue still exists then you likely have a hardware problem
You would then need to return the iPhone to the US either in person or send to a friend or relative to hand carry in to an Apple Store
The warranty and Post warranty service and support is not International ,you have no warranty in India

InDesign getting hanged very often

Hello All,
We recently upgraded our license from CS4 to CS5.5 and found that InDesign is getting hanged very often during find & replace, loading XML files, etc. Actually we faced like this issue in CS3, and when we upgraded to CS4, this issue was found resolved. But now again facing the same hanging issue, can anyone of you facing this issue or let me know how we rectify this issue?
Please respond at the earliest, since we are planning to upgrade many licenses.

We don't have enough information to say with any reliability.
To know, you would need to see the stack trace associated with the process.
Under XP, that is easy. Under Windows 7, it is hard. You can try installing DRWTSN32 from an XP system, or you can try installing WinDBG. Both of these are not turnkey solutions that work easily, and if you get stuck, there is only very limited help. Try finding a Windows systems programmer to help you.
But yes, it is most *likely* (I would say 14 times out of 15) that this is InDesign's fault.

Mac book pro hanging very often what will be the possible cause for it?

hi my mac book pro is 3months old and nowadays its hanging very often like when iam surfing, and some times when i dont use it for 10 to 15min.

Scheduled export hangs very often

Hi friends,
I've scheduled export running on DB server-Windows. I've created a batch file with export commands for about 5 databases and scheduled the job to run this batch file every night around 9 pm.
But, the export hangs quite often atleast 1-2 night a week with this message and when I come in the morning I had to hit enter for it to proceed:

It could be a couple of issues:
1. The file you gave it may be maxing out size wise and since there is no other file to use, exp builds the default file
expdat.dmp and prompts the user to make sure it is ok to use that file. To get around this, you could add a second
filename to the exp commands. If this happens for more than one job, you are overwriting the expdat.dmp file from the
previous job.
2. If for some reason it can't open that file, it would prompt for the expdat.dmp file.
So, by hitting <cr> when prompted, your exp job will write to the expdat.dmp file. It would be interesting to look at the size of the expdat.dmp file and the size of the file you thought the export was going to write to.

I think I have the same problem as Juju had in a previous thread.
My sistem has the following:
Pentium 4 2.4GHz HT (800 MHz FSB),
MSI 865PE Neo2-LS MB,
2 x 256MB DDR400 made by PQI,
Nvidia GEForce 4 MX440 with 64MB RAM (Only AGP 4x),
SoundBlaster Live! 4.1 (Value)
Windows XP Pro OS
First, I couldn't install Win XP with memory in dual channel
configuration, but only with a single memory module.
Then, with one module or both modules in single (or dual) channel, I receive a lot of Page Fault errors from DirectX applications (like Unreal 2 and NFS 6), or even from RadLight
or MediaPlayer with some xvid encoded movies. The system also reboots from time to time. The errors are not so frequent when using only one memory module, but they are
still present.
I must say that all these applications were running with no errors on my previous system (which had the same video and sound cards, but a PIII motherboard and SDRAM).
I have tried different memory settings (even have set timings to the highest possible values - lowest performance) in BIOS but there is no change. I have also disabled HT, but still no result.
The temperature of the CPU is 45-55 degrees Celsius and the system temparature is 35-40 C.
Please, can somebody help me with this problem.
Can it be from the MB, from the memory, or from the video card ? Or even Win XP ?

Sorry to disagree. CAS Latency of 2.5 or even 3 does not prevent you from running in dual channel mode. It may hinder MAT or PAT settings.

1. Use the task manager to check which process or program occupy large amount of system resource
2. Update the hardware drivers from the manufacturer website

My system hangs very frequently. When i'm using a scan-engine for example:Mc Afee, Norton, Hitman Pro or when i'm using my laptop for a long time. Especially when i set the CPU in dynamic or high-mode!
I upgraded the bios for this reason to 1.5 but that didn't help. Also i cleaned the fan-area because i thought it had to be the temperature. The Fan runs normal and when i use the best performancesetting it runs fast. When i put the CPU-speed (in the bios) to low i have no problems. What can i do to use the high performance and the system will keep running?

I`m sorry, that I dont have a solution for your Problem, but I do have a similar problem.
The first time I noticed a problem with my T9000, showed up on Battery mode. Bios setting: cpu sleep mode: on, and dynamic cpu feq. and the automatic mode of the powermanagement intel speedstep (set to dynamic cpu freq.) caused an I/O error outside windows and a bluescreen when a boot was succesfull.
I worked around that problem by uninstalling intel speedstep (and the whole toshiba powermanagement) and by turning off the bios setting cpu sleepmode and set the cpu to full speed or low speed (I set that everytime to slow when in Battery mode and high when working with AC adapter).
Another thing that i noticed was a bit strange and quite noise, every time windows was idle. didn`t notice that sound before.
and the latest thing then was that my t9000 hungs unfrequently. The interessting thing is (sounds funny) to go on i had to press down with my finger on a place beside the accu point mouse. release the finger, it hungs, press again windows runs or while in boot sequence it boots further on.
This issue is very frustrating. I tested all other devices (RAM, HDD, wireless card and modem) with no error, so the error have to be on cpu or mainboard.

Apps crash very often. System reboots.

Problem is that applications very often crash.
The most: Safari, iBooks, GoodReader, Numbers, Pages.
App closes and the system returns to the main screen, not saving the changes that took place during use of the application.
Very often when pdf file is opened, it freezes the application (doesnt matter in which it is opened), and the iPad seems to be warmer than usually.
In addition, from time to time the device reboots - Apple logo shows and system restarts.
The iPad Air is 32 GB with cellular, the amount of free space on it is always over 2 gb, and closing other applications also does not help.
Please help or advice me, how I can improve stability of my device.

Iphone 3GS 16GB hang/freez very often

Dear all,
I bought an Iphone 3GS 16GB around 2 months ago and I've used it everyday. The Iphone is hang/freeze very often, when it happens I follow the advice which I searched on apple.com: turn off and turn on the Iphone, after that, it's fine but it still happens very often so I tried to restore the firmware from Apple (use Itunes for restoring), I hope it's fine but now it still exists but the time is not very often.
Please advise whether my issue come from Iphone hardware or not.

If you haven't already, try restoring your iPhone as a new device, not from a backup, and with only the apps Apple includes. Then see if the problems persist. It's possible that a corrupted file on the iPhone is causing the problems, and that could perhaps be coming back onto the iPhone if you're restoring using a backup. Problems with an app could also be causing problems. If the problems persist after restoring the iPhone as "new", then you almost certainly have a defective iPhone and will need to contact Apple for servicing.
If the problems go away after restoring the iPhone as "new", then you can start putting your other apps back on and see if the problems reappear; if they do, you probably have a badly-coded app.

FileVault 2 vs. Energy Saver – System Hang

I have an SSD primary drive and a secondary drive mounted in the CD bay of my MacBook Pro. Both drives are encrypted with FileVault 2. If I use the Energy Saver setting to "Put hard disks to sleep when possible", very often when I wake my computer from sleep, it hangs trying to access the secondary drive (where I have my iTunes and iPhoto libraries), and I am forced to reboot.
This seems like a pretty egregious bug in FileVault. It seems it must discard the key for the secondary drive when it sleeps? And does not prompt me to re-unlock the drive before it tries to acccess it. This seems to lock up my entire system.
It seems the only solution is to keep the drive spinning? Not so good for preserving battery life!

Macbook pro 2010 very often rebooting

I had readed some similar posts but didn't find any totaly worked suggestions including bring machine to genius guys.
I have macbook pro 15-inch, Mid 2010, OS X 10.8.2 (12C60), I have one terreble issue, my mac rebooting very often it self during the my work, and I cant find any cycles why it happends, it every time in different situations, it doesen't matter what I do, work in maya, surfing in safari, working in photoshop, or after effects, it start when I updated my OS X to 10.8.1, than I really was haped to 10.8.2 and when I did it doesen't solve this, I alredy change my hdd to ssd with hope may be it halps me, and I install my OS X RAW and instal all my needed soft again, and when it doesn't solve it again, I installed all updates what can find on all suggestions, I already swiched all autosleep functions, I sent all reports...
guys help me with this, I alredy tired, all my soft alredy have 5min autosave, it is already not funny

It appears that you may have a problem with the hardware in your machine. Try booting to the Apple Hardware Test suite and run a full test to both check sensors on the system (of which there are many) along with the integrity of the system's memory (see here for how to do this: http://reviews.cnet.com/8301-13727_7-57352461-263/how-to-invoke-and-interpret-th e-apple-hardware-tests/).
If the hardware tests come up with no errors or warnings, then try seeing if the system will run stably in Safe Mode (boot with the Shift key held to do this). It very well could be a third-party kernel extension that could be resulting in this crash, though the crash report you included suggests its triggerd by the use of Apple's "HWSensor" extension (further suggesting a hardware malfunction).
Some MacBook Pro systems from 2010 had graphics-related issues (black screen hangs, etc.) so this could be related if as your profile says the system is a MacBook Pro from 2010.
