My text bubbles were blue yesterday

Yesterday my text bubbles were blue & today they're green. Why?

Because iMessage didn't go through (weak signal), it will automatically resend using SMS.

james. dont know what you mean.
iMessages only works between iOS and OS X devices. If the recipient is using another system - and Android phone, for example, that person can only receive SMS/MMS messages from you. In addition, an iOS (iPhone) user has to establish an iMessage ID. If they are using, say an email address for iMessages, and you send the text to their phone number, it will not go through as iMessage (rather it will be a standard SMS text message).

Blue bubbles are using for iMessages, so problem with receiving is in iMessage.

the colors indicate if the message receiver has a iphone or not. Blue for iphone, green for other.
Not necessarily an iPhone but rather if they have iMessage support at the address you're using.
If you're using an email address they could have an iOS device or a Mac.

blue colored bubbles are imessages(ios device to ios device), uses data
green colored are SMS's(charged by carrier, if you have free SMS's, it should be free too)

You need to ensure that both of you have iMessage active, and that you both have an active data connection.

  • Blue & Green text bubbles

Why is it that when you text certain people, the message delivers to them in a green bubble, but then others deliver in a blue bubble?  What's the difference?

You need to enable iMessage on your iPhone. Settings>Messages>ON.  Sending iMessages between enabled iOS 5 devices will result in the bubble turning blue, if however the iMessage could not be sent it will be sent as an SMS and therefore the bubble will be green. This support document will help you http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3529

iMessages are sent using Apple servers, using either WiFi or Cellular data. They can only be sent to/from iDevices or Macs that have the Messages app. SMS messages use the cellular network. Both methods can deliver the message to the recipient.

  • Can i change the color of the text bubble?

I recently updated the iphone 4S with the new upgrade.  Is there a way to change the color of the text bubble from that hideous green?

    No, unfortunately not...
Green means SMS and blue means it's an iMessage but it's not customizable.
You can leave feedback for Apple though about it if you like at:  www.apple.com/feedback
    Good luck!

  • How do you change text bubble color on iPhone4?

I do not want to Jailbreak my iphone4 but I want to change the bubble color on my texts. I see on the iOS 4 preview that the text bubble color is light blue. How do I change mine?

iMessage is completely free only if you are on wifi. If you are on 3G, it will use your carrier to send an iMessage, therefore it counts towards your messaging rates. If the message is green to another iPhone user, that means that your service hasn't recognized it as an iPhone.
iMessages do NOT count toward messaging rates on 3G. They use the 3G data allowance. Messages to other iOS users can be in green (sent as SMS) if the user doesn't have an active data connection (either 3G or WiFi) at the time.

  • HT1688 Text bubbles

Can the text bubbles color be changed they are awful and hard in the eyes? If so how can I change?

Agree. Neon green is about the worst possible color. But, I don't think it's changeable.
The iMessage blue color is a little better, but for standard non-iMessage SMS you're stuck.

  • My iPhone shows black text instead of blue btwn iPhone users, Why?

My iPhone is shows black text instead of blue to different iphone users, what does this mean?? Thank you.

No matter what you send a normal text or iMessage the color of the "text" will remain black, but if you send a iMessage, the color of the message bubble will be blue and if you send a normal text message the color of the message bubble will be green.

  • Is it possible to disable text bubble grouping?

i have this thing where sometimes i send several shorter messages within one minute. several people i talk to do this as well.
in the older design each message would have its own separate line/box which was fine, easy to keep track of, but with the new look everything is grouped into one big wall of text inside a text bubble, which is pretty hard to read and keep track of due to a large amount of text with no linebreaks or other way to help reading it.
is there a way to "un-group" those messages, so each message i/others send is in its own box, like how it'd look if the messages were posted over 1 minute apart?

    TThanks for the info.
CAn can you elaborate on how I would set up a security policy.  Is it with a GPO?
    thank you.
