If you are having issues with your text tone going silent, and you are not changing your ring/silent switch, you may want to try some things to troubleshoot.
iPhone Buttons
First, quit all running applications and test again -
iOS: Force an app to close
Next, I would try restarting the iPhone -
Turn your iOS device off and on (restart) and reset
If the issue is still present, you may want to restore the iPhone as a new device -
How to erase your iOS device and then set it up as a new device or restore it from backups

Text tone keeps going quiet for no reason

Hello all.
Since the latest update I'm having a problem with my volume levels.
The text tone keeps going quiet on its own , so low I can't hear it properly but the ringer is still loud.
When I press the + and - volume buttons the ringer noise level goes up & down but the text tone stays the same.
Did it not used to change the volume of both the text AND the ringer?
To turn the text alert volume up, I now have to keep having to go into one of my videos and turning the volume up.
But then if I watch a video and turn the volume down the text alert volume goes down too!
Can anyone please help?

Text tone keeps going to default instead of new choice

I changed my text tone from the default tri tone to another (ding) and it only works when I get a text from an iPhone. Otherwise, if I get a text from a non-smartphone it is the tri tone. It also goes to tri tone when i say NONE for sound. This is sooooo anoying.

It sounds like there is a payback issue with one or more movies in iTunes on your Mac. If the movies weren't purchased from the iTunes Store, do you see the same issue with content downloaded from the iTunes Store? Hi I have the orginal iPad ,,,and had software updates done on both iPhone & iPad ,one thing I noticed everytime I hook my iPad & iPhone up to iTunes update software or upgrades I seem to loose very important emails from both iPhone & iPad ,,,so that's one issue that apple could not explain causes ,,the other problem is recently this year I noticed that I will email my friends then a couple of weeks later go to email same friends email address are felted from my contacts ,this is happening a lot now ,,but not on iPhone only iPad ,any ideas ,,,I knew to forum so any help appreciated ,,,

Emails are not included with the backup for each device. If the account is an Exchange or IMAP account, all server stored mailboxes and the messages within remain on the server. If a POP account, if received messages remain on the server the messages will be re-downloaded. If no longer available on the server, this has nothing to do with updating the iPhone or iPad.
Are you syncing contacts with a supported address book app on your computer or over the air with an email account that supports syncing contacts over the air? Not a good idea to depend on a portable device alone for contacts. Although contacts are included with the backup for each device, so is a significant amount of other data. If something goes wrong with the device's backup in regards to this data and you aren't syncing contacts direct with a supported address book app on your computer or over the air with an email account that supports it, your contacts can be lost. Not to mention if either device or both devices are lost or stolen.

Resetting the phone by holding down the Home and power buttons until the silver apple appears won't hurt and may fix the problem. It's worth a try.

I think you can't. But you can download an application to free up to 5MB, including all images/videos/ringtones that come preloaded with your Blackberry. I don't know it the application allows you to select what you want to keep.

Just installed iTunes onto a laptop and the syncing keeps timing out. Any ideas?

This issue occurred in my iMac as well. I did the following:
1. Backed up my data using Time Machine.
2. Opened the Mail application on my iMac and entered Preferences.
3. I removed the iCloud email account from Mail and closed the Mail application.
4. I re-opened the Mail application and added the iCloud email.
The process above seemed to work for me.
