My theme is always lost when i restart firefox. why is that?

when i put theme on firefox its all ok wile im browsing, but when i close mozzila it changes back to default!

The data of all installed Personas and its background (attention) color and text color are stored in the lightweightThemes.usedThemes pref in JSON object format ({"id":"#","name":"xxx",...}).
The first entry of that pref is the currently selected Persona.
You may want to keep a backup copy of the current value of the lightweightThemes.usedTheme pref and bookmark the pages of installed Personas on the Add-ons site.
The images of the currently selected Persona are stored in the lightweighttheme-header and lightweighttheme-footer files in the Firefox profile folder, so make sure to keep these files as well.
Firefox copies the image files to the lwtheme folder in the Firefox profile folder and sets some prefs to true.
lightweightThemes.isThemeSelected = true

I love using firefox app tabs, but they always disappear when I restart firefox. Is there any way to get chosen app tabs to load when firefox restarts?

Firefox 5 has a great new feature called app tabs, but it looks like I'm stuck resetting them every time I quit firefox or restart my computer. It seems to me the whole point of "pinned" app tabs is that they're the sites you read most frequently, and therefore it would be useful if they loaded automatically when firefox was started. Is there a way to do this? Do I have firefox on the wrong settings? Or am I stuck re-creating my app tabs every time I restart my computer / firefox??

Thanks for the reply, it seems to have solved my issue.
My tabs are normal and unpinned, I just have Firefox set to open all my current tabs. Safe Mode didn't seem to have this issue, so I disabled Classic Theme Restorer. Several restarts didn't have problems, so I enabled it again and now this isn't happening anymore. Hopefully it stays gone for good and didn't just stop momentarily.
Edit. So as soon as I posted this, it started happening again. More testing definitely points to Classic Theme Restorer as the cause, so I'll have to investigate solutions on that end.

Your previous tabs will not re-open or be available to re-open when starting Firefox if:

When I restart Firefox, my pinned tabs open to the last webpage that I viewed rather than the page that I originally pinned. For example, if I pinned to a local newspaper's website, navigate to espn while on the pinned tab and then close Firefox, the next time I open Firefox, the pinned tab goes to espn rather than the local newspaper's site.
Additionally, the same thing happens if I am reading an article on the pinned tab. When reopening Firefox, the pinned tab goes to the last article viewed.

That is just the way that pinned tabs are designed. They are meant to be left on the page you want them left on e.g. a web mail account.
If you want to pin a newspaper then I would pin the front page and then open any article you want to read in a new tab.
Having said that there is an addon called [https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/tab-utilities/ Tab-utilities] which contains an option to automatically revert a pinned tab to the original URL.

Why, when I restart Firefox 4, does it open large numbers of empty windows as well as my previous window?

I have Firefox 4 set to save the windows from my last session. When I restart Firefox, it does this OK, but then opens several blank windows as well. The number seems to be increasing - just now I got 14!

I have firefox 3.6 and 4 on XP and have not noticed such problems.
If you have blank pages open they will get saved and reopen along with the other open tabs. Maybe some of them are scrolled off screen and you do not notice them. Note if you include pipe symbols in the home list they open blank tabs.
If you are talking about separate windows maybe your autorestores kept as sessionsore files are getting messed up. Remember you have options to save open tabs as bookmarks, and if you (Windows users) right click on a tab that gives a bookmark all tabs option.
Try opening firefox and when closing it, closing each open window in turn and then when you reopen allowing it to re-open a couple of times without using the option to restore previous settings ie use the option '''''Start new Session'''''
If that fails it may then be worth considering manually deleting ''sessionstore.js'' and any backup or additional copies of that - '''but''' remember to first save the open tabs as bookmarks if they are important.

Note also Firefox 4 has changed its default behaviour, but it does normally save the tabs on closing down, it just does not by default ask you if that is what is required, and on reopening you then need to use the restore option, which may be displayed as an option in the centre of the screen.

It sounds like there is an issue with the displayed usage of your iPhone in iTunes compared to what you're seeing in the Photos app on your device. Take a look at the article linked below and check Settings > General > Usage for another app that may be storing photos.

All of the data should be on your computer, simply sync it back.
If the update was done via iTunes on the computer, the first step in the process is a backup of the device.

I am able to change and add bookmarks, but these changes are sometimes not saved when I restart Firefox.

Since updating to Firefox 4, changes to bookmarks are saved sometimes after restart, but not usually (maybe 25% of the time). The problem sounds exactly like what is described on the [[Bookmarks not saved]] help page, yet after making all the recommended changes, the problem persists. I have also performed the recommended actions on the [[Toolbar keeps resetting]] help page, with no luck there either.
The only other thing that I can think of that may be helpful is that I use Firefox Sync between two computers, and both seem to be having this problem.

I have some more information, in case it helps. During one Firefox session, I made about 8 changes to my bookmarks.When I restarted Firefox, the first few changes I had made were saved, but the rest were not. Additionally, the favicons that were present during my last session (that I hadn't had before that session) were reverted to the default favicon. I hope this helps!

Strange, since Google is unlikely to do that. Maybe it was an bundled installer masquerading as the official one?
To start your clean-up efforts, please check your home page setting. Do you get the 3 tabs when you press Command+n to launch a new window? If so, the extra URLs may be tacked on to your home page setting in the Preferences dialog. These articles describe where to find that. Note that it can be difficult to see the full details of that field due to limited space available, so often it is easier to delete it all and paste in just the URL you want.

Next, please check your extensions, as they can override your settings. I suggest disabling ALL nonessential or unrecognized extensions on the Add-ons page. Either:

Firefox won't start on my Mac anymore. Turned Mac off, restarted, Firefox updated, and that was that.

Hi, you should receive suggestions in the address bar, so please go to Options (cog wheel) - in the 3-bar menu unless you've moved it, > Search tab, and make sure that 'Provide search suggestions' is ticked/checked. Also go to the Privacy tab (Location Bar), and tick/check your preferred options.

How do install the "Web"tag so it always is there when I restart Firefox?

When I open firefox the "Web" toolbar or tag is not present, but can access it when clicking on the Web icon. Can the row of tags that includes Maps and News, be permanently available on the Google page?

Follow up. Windows 7, even more so that Vista, attempts to keep users from having full administrative control of their own comps. I've learned a few tricks such as changing ownership of large directory trees and file systems underneath them which will let me mess with what MS doesn't want mere customers messing with.
However, screwing with ownership properties on a large scale scan screw up Win7. Basically it is war between the computer's owner and the MS OS and MS is throwing a lot of resources at making it more and more difficult for end users to really control their own machines effectively , the communications that those machines can and cannot engage in, and even the nature of the software that will properly install and run on their machines.
It somehow doesn't surprise me much that cookies, "phone home "Authentic Windows proggies", and the general complexity of Windows are getting worse, all for the benefit of Monopolist Microsoft and much to the woe of most users.
