My thoughts on Square Trade and asurion

Great looking deal up front...but in the end ?????
I am speaking total loss in theory only..and only if your are thinking about buying ins(if you dont want it then this read isnt for you)..I believe in coverage so. I am also a very active person and things happen. My son is 16 going on 30 so he gets covered...
So I been researching the two, going back and forth on which to get.. with the asurion ins plan you pay 9+ bucks a month and a 200 dollar deductible  up to 2 times a year( or 1500 dollars)... If I just break the screen I will pay to have it fixed and save ins for major... but again talking total loss so stay with me
say I drop it in the toilet, its fried...I call asurion, I pay 200 bucks they overnight me a new or refurbed phone...say I lose it in the park three months later.. I call asurion they send me new/REFB device and I pay another 200.. up to two times a year and I assume (haven't checked) it starts when you buy or activate, and not when you first make a claim..
pretty costly but compared to nothing 
So math time....you would be out 400 (2 200.00 deductibles) plus months paid, say it happened month 11 and 16, that is cost per month, round up to10 x16 is 160 or total 560 for 2 phones replaced...or if you just wrote it off that is 1500 for two with out replacement coverage...
Not to mention I get to talk to folks right here in good ole TN, most times I have called asurion and someone in the US OF A everytime I have called... so big plus in my book
Now for SquareTrade
I called Squaretrade to get some answers to a couple questions I had
Coverage limit  which =599
 did they replace the device should it be totaled or did I?  a plus in my book, they send check to you so you can buy....more on in a min though..
deductible= 50 per time, except on warranty issues. For  warranty repairs under apple they send you to the apple counter for repair (fine that is what I would do anyhow), when the apple warranty is up they charge you 50 bucks, you send them the phone or they tell you where to go and they pay the bill???not sure how that works either way your phone is fixed and your out 50 bucks in the end..
so far pretty good ..... in a nutshell with them it's
Basically  90 bucks right now up front, no monthly, and 50 deduct for none warranty (not covered by apple ) repairs... Its on top of apple warranty though and extends it to two years. Cheap....
but lets throw in the mind games
say you drop it in toilet...it can't be fixed.... you pay a deductible of 50 bucks and they send you 599 to replace your phone...two choices..try to find one on ebay and hope its not locked, or buy new from apple for 700, or new from vzw for 750.  I know where I am going.....wait did you see that?  look again!
here is what I see!
 if you need it replaced they basically give you 550 to replace it and you pay 700 to get a new one.  so your 50 dollar deductible just went to 150.  well  your still 50 bucks to the good right....wrong... you have to buy another squaretrade warranty(if you want coverage again) which by that time may be 90 or it may be normal cost of 120... so your back at the same cost  as the bucks per month for asurion.... again in my mind

you were at the park and lost your 2nd phone with asurion....  Square trade probably will give you your unused warranty money back, but that is it. they dont cover lost or stolen phones.
Sure chances are low and I probably missed some numbers, and that was worse case....  but have you called Square Trade.
I am sorry but I have a hard enough time explaining myself to folks that speak and understand English. See above gibber gabber!!!!!!
I felt Like I was talking to HP for that 10 mins of my life on the phone with SquTrade...if you ever been there you know what I mean.
I think I will go asurion and just pay for screen replacements during the warranty period and fix them myself after the warranty period...
sorry if this doesn't make sense I am sorry, I haven't took a lot of time figuring this out. It is how my head plays it so
and no I wont be buying the 1.99 warranty  or the 10 whatever WAP(asurion) and extended Warranty bundle  just the 9+ dollar a month asurion INS policy and hope I dont ever need it.

SquareTrade doesn't always send you the check for the item insured if it needs replaced - many times, they charge you the deductible, fix the item or send you a refurbished/new unit. And the $50 deductible doesn't apply for things like battery/normal use issues - which is the number one complaint for ALL phone owners. You only have to pay the deductible for accidents. I have a SquareTrade warranty for my iPod Touch (2nd gen) and I've had a few battery issues as well as a screen issue - they sent me a new item everytime.
And - no, you don't have to buy a new warranty once you get a new iPhone, if your last iPhone couldn't be repaired. The policy transfers to the new unit no matter what. Which should be no problem, since SquareTrade will most likely just send you a new/refurb unit anyway.

  • Why can't Verizon and Asurion use common sense!

    I have had Verizon for years.  I have had insurance for years.  Luckily I never had to use it, until today!  I had a beautiful red Windows 8 HTC 8x. Well I dropped it and the screen smashed, ugh!  Anyway, I was like no problem I have insurance!  Well it is a problem!  Seriously Verizon get a clue on how to do things in a simple manner!  I called Verizon they were very nice (Enterprise, AL store), but told me I had to go through the insurance company.  Ok, all good until I called Asurion!  Not helpful at all!  1st off they don't have my color, ok not happy but I can live with it, then the 1st girl lied to me, she said they could have a black phone overnighted to me and I would get it tomorrow, I said well I am not happy but fine, hang up (she put in her notes that the call was lost, yeah right) anyway I called back.  Spoke with Tabitha and she told me they actually didn't have my phone in stock and that it would be 5 to 7 business days before I could get one!  What!!!!!!!  Really not happy now!  She said well, since we don't have it in stock we can offer you a comparable phone, I said ok, what about the Nokia 928, she said we don't have that in stock either, but we have the Samsung Odyssey, my husband said NO it was junk.  I asked them why I couldn't go to the store and get a new phone?  That seems like the simple thing to do, they had them in stock they even had blue?  That is not how they work!  Seriously, that is the simple solution!  I pay Verizon every month for my insurance, why shouldn't I be able to go get a new phone, I would have my new phone today!  Asurion told me I could go to the store and pay full price for my phone and then they would reimburse me, they said after I filled out the paperwork, mailed my phone back to them, they verified all my information was correct they would mail me a check.  If I had full price I would just go buy the Nokia 928, but the reason I sign up for contracts is that I get a discounted price on the flipping phone!  Why couldn't I just take my  broken phone to Verizon, they have all my information, get a new phone and Asurion pay Verizon for my phone.  I take my car to a shop and file on my insurance and the insurance company pays the company not me, so why can't Asurion do that? 

    I feel your pain. I had a technician come out twice, my moden replaced 3 times, and now my monthly cost has gone up but my internet speeds are not much improved.

    Foreign trade and customs data should be picked automatically in delivery note and in the invoice  once we enter it in the master data for L/C Local Sales for example country  Saudi arabia to Saudi Arabia in vi95 or any other transaction you have for this particular master data entry.please help

    Check the customizing settings under
    IMG - SD - Foreign Trade/Customs - Basic Data for Foreign Trade -  Define Business Transaction Types And Default Value
    And the data should be picked up from Material Master record in Foreign trade export view.
    They are checked as mandatory fields according to customizing under:
    IMG - SD - Foreign Trade/Customs - Control Foreign Trade Data in MM and SD Documents - Incompleteness Schemas for Foreign Trade Data

  • A Thought on FAQ's and Other Things

    I've been spending some time on the PE forum, since I added that program to my toolbox. Besides the FAQ's, which have been partially redone, since the forum changeover lost all of the old ones, but the MOD there, Steve Grisetti, there is also a Tip & Tricks sub-forum. It has been a good repository of things that do not quite make the FAQ's section. I've been using it to post articles, especially ones with screen-caps and links, that get repeated very often.
    The Pro fora are fortunate to have the Wiki (big thanks to Eddie Lotter. You do a wonderful job man, and my hat's off to you for your efforts and your help.), but I wonder if there could also be a Tips & Tricks sub-forum for Pro.
    On a few cases, when I link to the PE Tips & Tricks, posters ignore them, because they assume that nothing from PE could help them. Same for when I link to some articles in the Encore forum's FAQ's (more a Tips & Tricks repository), 'cause they can't imagine that something there could help them in Pro, or in PE. I know that this is resistance to thinking outside the box, or program, as the case might be, but these fora are here to help users. The better that we can accomplish this, the better the fora are.
    I may be asking for too much duplication of effort, but I'd like some thoughts from the participants and the MOD's specifically. Is this something worth doing in Pro? Is Eddie able to get everything into the Wiki, or would this help him do the job that he's undertaken and done so well?

    Hunt, you don't have to be afraid of adding information to the wiki, it is publicly editable and would benefit from having more than one person adding to it. I have other projects and have a large backlog of items that need to go in the wiki, so my updates to the wiki have slowed considerably.

    Unless you had somehow backed up the iPad just before you deleted the notes - unfortunately there is no way to get the notes back. There is no undo feature or trash from which you can retrieve.
    Are you sure that you deleted the note? You would have seen a large red Delete Note bar that you would have had to tap in order to delete the note. Have you checked the other accounts - tap accounts in the upper left corner of the app and check.

    Hello Gurus,
    Can you please tell me as how to maintain two separate GR/IR accounts  one for the third party trade and the other for Inter company affiliates.  I want all my Inter company transactions to be recorded against a separate GR/IR account.
    Can some one enlighten me as how this can be achieved. An apt response is very much appreciated.

    Thank you for your reply. Well, I would want to retain the valuation class for the material. But the GR/IR clearing account for all
    the inter company postings should go to a different account( a separate GR/IR account for I/C for consolidation purpose)  based on the Trading partner in the vendor master. I figured it out using a substitution rule.

    I am not aware of a heart, square, circle or lasso shape i=for editing in iphoto for the Mac - Maybe you are thinking of iPhoto for IOS which has been discontinued and is not available under IOS 8

  • Square reader and ipod touch

    I am looking into getting the ipod touch to use the square card reader, I do not want/need a smart phone for various reasons. 
    Is the ipod touch a safe choice for internet access anywhere I might be?  I have to be sure of that before I dive into it.
    I have done a lot of research on the various merchant card readers and Square seems to be the best and most simple out there.

    Melody I'm in the same position as you.  I have a ipod touch and I just got the square reader.  However, the next problem is going to be the wifi connection.
    I know it's a problem, since my brother tries to use his ipad with little success when he's out and about.
    I think the solution is the hotspot, which can get you a wifi connection.  It's about $100, and right now the first year is free of monthly charges.  After that, for me and you it would be $10 per month since we're only using it for transactions.
    The nice thing is that there's no contract, so I think that means that we can use it only in the summer for example, if you vend then, and then shut it off.
    My issue is if I put the hotspot into the plug on my ipod touch, where does the square go, and can  they both be used together.  I'm researching that now.

    From the previous comments I am assuming that your waveforms are arrays, rather than the waveform data type. I am also assuming that the sine waves on both sides of the square wave are the same signal.
    If so then I suggest a slightly different approach. 1. Generate your sine wave, rather than the empty array. The length should be the length of the entire end signal.
    2. Generate the square waveform. You can either generate it at the length you need, or you can generate a much larger square wave, and then use the Array Subset VI to get the portion you need. Which method you use depends how you want to implement the whole method.
    3. Use the Replace Array Subset VI to place the portion of the square wave at the location (index) of the original sine wave you ge
    nerated.
    The result of this method will be an array that starts with your sine wave, and then at the index you choose it will place the square wave of the length you want right into the signal, and then finish up with the sine wave for the rest of the signal.

    If the iTunes Store has replied to your request and told you that they cannot refund your money, then yes, I'm afraid you're out of luck as regards this purchase. To prevent this from happening again, turn off "In App purchases" in the Restrictions settings on your iPhone. You may also want to turn off the ability to install apps, to prevent purchases in case the child gets hold of your iTunes Store account information, and set the password to be required immediately.     Ive just started my first year at university, still feeling like ive been thrown in at the deepend. I have a series of assignments to complete for my programming course, and part of one of them is to work out this following:
    d = (square root of) x2 + y2 + z2
    d,x,y and z are are all vriables that ive sorted out earlier. and x2 means x to the power of 2.
    if anyone could give me some pointers on the best way to do this that would be great

    also, usually if x is raised to the power of y, people write x ^ y.
    double d = Math.sqrt(16);
    d is 4
