The Time Capsule has a defective power supply and it needs to be exchanged as soon as possible. Soon, you will not be able to power it back up at all after it shuts down.
Take the Time Capsule to an Apple Store, if you have one near you, or contact Apple Support to get the process started.

My time capsule works without any problems , most of the time..... seems around 7-8 am the wifi connection doesn't work. its hooked up to my AT&T Uverse router. it isn't a lion issue ( I am running lion on MBP) because I also see it on my iPhone 4s. any ideas of what could cause this ?
What is the network layout?
The Uverse router is also wireless? Is that turned off or bridged?
The TC is bridged or running as the main router? Is the only wireless AP the TC?
Does the airport actually get an IP address from the TC?
If so,
Open a terminal in the computer and ping the TC, and ping the Uverse modem/router.
Ping the outside world address by name and by IP.
Tell me the results of all of that.
If you want to try and jump to a solution.. try setting fixed channels on the TC.. short names for wireless, no spaces, no special characters. pure alphanumeric. What does that achieve? -
The airport time capsule 2TB is only connecting to the web when performing a backup, it just started doing this how do I fix it?
That is a weird one.. never heard of it drop out except doing backups.
Reset the TC to factory settings.
The Factory Reset universal
Unplug your TC/AE. Hold in reset. and power the TC/AE back on.. all without releasing reset and keep holding in for about 10sec. The time is not important.. it is the front LED rapid flashing that indicates you are in factory mode.
Release reset.
If it doesn’t flash rapidly you have released reset at some point and try again.
Be Gentle! Feel the switch click on. It has a positive feel.. add no more pressure after that.
TC/AE will reboot after a couple of minutes with default factory settings and will wipe out previous configurations.
No files are deleted on the hard disk.. No reset of the TC deletes files.. to do that you use erase from the airport utility.
Redo the setup with all short names no spaces and pure alphanumeric.
It should then work fine.. but I need more info if you still have problems.
What modem? Is it a router?
How is the TC connected?
Is the computer running Mavericks? -
I have used Airport Time Capsule with my iMac for a couple years. I recently purchased a MacBook Air and when it tried to backup to Time Capsule it couldn't because Time Capsule is full. How can I now use the 3TB Airport Time Capsule to back up both the iMac and MacBook Air? I don't mind losing earlier backups. I have excluded some items from backing up, but since the Airport Time Capsule is full, I can't even begin to back up the MacBook Air.
On your Mac.......
Open Finder > Applications > Utilities > AirPort Utility
Click on the Time Capsule icon, then click Edit in the smaller window that appears
Click on the Disks tab at the top of the window
Click Erase Disk
On the next window that appears, select the Quick Erase option, then click Erase
The operation will only take a few minutes.
Now you are ready to start new backups of both Macs. Back up one Mac first, then back up the other. Do not try to back up both Macs as the same time. -
I set up a new airport time capsule. Most devices connected fine however now my apple tv 2nd gen won't work. I turn it on and it searches for time and date but goes no further. I can't by pass it either. Any suggestions?

Does that mean you cannot move it to the TC and plug in by ethernet? What does bypass mean?
I would still move it closer to the TC.. and just trial it there. Range on some AC models for 2.4ghz is worse than old one. For some people.
Another thing to try is fixed wireless channels.. one of the very few options still available in the AC model.. lock the 2.4ghz to 11, 6, 1 .. try it in that order. -
My new iPad with Retina Display is not able to connect to the Wi-Fi of my new Time Capsule. It use to connect, but now it just spins and spins and never connects. I've tried rebooting everything many times.
Some things to try first:
1. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
2. Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.

4. Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.
5. Renew IP Address: (especially if you are droping internet connection)
• Launch Settings app
• Tap on Wi-Fi
• Tap on the blue arrow of the Wi-Fi network that you connect to from the list
• In the window that opens, tap on the Renew Lease button

Note - When troubleshooting wifi connection problems, don't hold your iPad by hand. There have been a few reports that holding the iPad by hand, seems to attenuate the wifi signal.

have 2009 time capsule with 6 month old iMac very slow ...cox said to replace with new router or extreme with new wifi ???? confused
Replace the Time Capsule with a new one or replace your router with an Airport Extreme Base Station that has faster Wi-Fi. Or you could just connect your old Time Capsule using an Ethernet connection from the Time Capsule to the computer's Ethernet port.

Will be away from my Time Capsule for 2+ Months
I'm going to be away from my Time Capsule for 2+ months starting next month. Unfortunately it isn't an option to take the Time Capsule with me as it also funcitons as a broadband server for my home security system. What I'd like to know is, if I purchase a 3rd party external hard drive, can I use TIme Machine to back up to that drive while traveling and then resume back-ups with Time Capsule upon my return?
If so, what do I have to do to start backing up to the new drive and what will I have to do when I come back (beside be ready for really long back-ups in both cases)??

Oh, and BTW, I'm not too keen on going the iCloud route as I prefer whole machine back-ups (I've been the victim of laptop theft and Time Capsule SAVED MY SKIN!!!) versus just file back-ups and I haven't made the jump to Lion yet either.If there are files on the TC.. do a back up of those to USB drive.. you can do a direct archive via the airport utility of the TC.. Then you might be able to use the same USB drive for backups on the move if you partition it beforehand.. but I am not sure having one point of backup is good idea.

Something software related prevented me from being able to boot up my iMAC. The remedy was to wipe the computer of all soft wear and re-inatall everything via my time capsule. All good there.. but now I cannot open Ai and a box stating"Licensing for this product has stopped working" and to reference error code 150:30. How do I get my Ai to open?

I am trying to setup my Time capsule via a ethernet cable as a back up for a new iMac. The on button on the time capsule set up window keeps failing to stay on. Any ideas what to do?
A PC can have more issues connecting than a Mac.
But it really should not matter.. so just try it in situ.. press and hold the reset.. once it starts up, it will return to default IP, 10.0.1.1 the PC should then be able to find it via the airport utility.
If not drag it over to the Mac and plug in there by ethernet.. or since it is a laptop, really should not be that difficult to drag the Laptop and plug it into the TC.
Important thing is to get access to the TC.
The Mac if it is running lion, then you MUST download and install 5.6 airport utility to do anything useful.

I have just installed a 2TB time capsule on my iMac i7, it see my second 1TB hard drive but the 256 SSD doesn't come up in the list of hard drives I can back up. How can I enable the time machine to see my first SSD 256gb hard drive?
iLife is preinstalled on all the Macs. If you purchased iLife in the App Store or your computer came without DVDs, open App Store > Purchases and download the applications. If your Mac came with discs, insert the Applications DVD and install iLife applications

I would prefer to answer in your post. as I have tried on two occasions to help.. so far this is the first time I can see you stated you are using Lion.
1. Did you download and install the 5.6 utility..?
I said to do it.. you never said yes.. I did that.
Please do it. .. you will get no place before you do.
2. Did you bridge the TC.. ?
If so it will work perfectly.. please post a screen shot of the summary page from the 5.6 utility. If something is wrong I can work it out from there.
3. Or ring apple support and get them to walk you through the setup.. there should be phone support for the first week or two. -
I just upgraded from my 2008 MacBook to a new Macbook Pro. How do I get my time capsule to work on my new MacBook? I did data migration, but the time capsule did not pick it up. Any ideas?
If you migrated all the info from time machine to your new MBP. The TM will usually ask to connect to the old backups.. sorry I am not sure is this what you want to do.. Personally I think you start a fresh backup.
BTW Time Capsule does not do anything.. it is a dumb hard disk in a box.. it is TM that does everything.

What if my error message is the following: The backup disk image “/Volumes/********'s Time Capsul/****’s MacBook Pro.sparsebundle” is already in use. (I have redacted the name of the computer with asterixes)
This is a complex procedure.
Pull the power cord from the back of the Time Capsule
Wait a minute or two
Plug the power cord back in to the back of the Time Capsule
