My Time Capsule is Working but the Yellow Light is Blinking

My Time Capsule backs up wirelessly fine but it just started blinking the yellow light.
I performed a back up and it went smoothly but the light still blinks.
What do I do to stop it or is it there a problem?

I'm having a similar problem as the original poster; 4 computers and one server backup to the Time Capsule and the drive is full -- but there doesn't seem to be any way to recover from this impasse other than nuking the entire backup and starting over from scratch!

That sounds like a lot of data backing-up to one Time Capsule. What's the total being backed-up from each Mac, and the size of the TC? Time Machine usually needs 2-3 times the space of the data it's backing-up.
Isn't there a way to just throw out the oldest files and keep going?
Ordinarily, Time Machine will do just that, as long as you don't have the +Warn when old backups are deleted+ box checked in Time Machine Preferences > Options.

My time capsule just stopped and the power light is off. i checked and there is power going to it.

I noticed that I could not get on to the internet as it said there was no internet connection. A look at my time capsule showed no green or yellow light. I do have a good internet connection and there is good power to the unit. It just died. it is about 1.5 years old. Thoughts?

It is now dead.. thanks to Apple's poor heat venting design.
Leave it disconnected for a few hours to cool off and it may restart.. in which case be ready to drag any data off it you need.
Otherwise you need to get it repaired. apple won't do this.. but I have a bunch of repairers who do.

If you have apple care on any computer, Apple will replace it for you. up to 3years old.

Click here for information; if the computer beeps three or fewer times, remove and reinsert the computer's RAM. If it beeps four or more times, it needs to be repaired. If it's a G5, it will ignore RAM modules that aren't part of a matching pair.

If things seem to be working OK, but the amber light is flashing......the AirPort Extreme has a message for you. To see what that might be......
Open Macintosh HD > Applications > Utilities > AirPort Utility
Click on the AirPort Extreme icon
Click on the amber dot in the small window
It might be a message that a firmware update is available for your AirPort Extreme.

Time Capsule: IPv6 works, but IPv4 does not

I have a Time Capsule (running 7.7.3) and a Mac Pro (2010, running 10.10.1) connected via ethernet. My ISP (Webpass) has IPv6 support.
The Mac Pro can communicate over IPv6 (e.g. ping6 google.com works; I can load google.com over IPv6 using Safari).
However, IPv4 does not work. The Mac Pro isn't even getting an IPv4 address via DHCP from the Time Capsule.
I'm pretty sure I have my IPv4 configuration correct in the Time Capsule, because if I turn on wifi on the Mac Pro (using the Time Capsule as my base station), the wifi interface gets an IPv4 address, and can reach the Internet over IPv4.
Possibly relevant: 3 days ago I noticed that IPv6 wasn't being routed properly by my ISP, so I filed a trouble ticket. They fixed it 2 days ago, which is when my wired IPv4 networking broke. (Given that I can use IPv4 via wifi suggests that the problem lies with the Time Capsule).
I have tried rebooting the Time Capsule and different ethernet ports on both the Time Capsule and Mac Pro, to no avail.
How can I get wired IPv4 working again?

I wish you were running anything but yosemite on the computer as it is least reliable networking OS yet.
Factory reset the TC. Redo the setup.. please use all short names, no spaces and pure alphanumeric.. do not use the names apple wizard will recommend.. keep passwords also 8-20 character pure alphanumeric but mixed case and numbers.
In ethernet setup of the computer.. how have you got ipv6 set??
How is ipv4 set?
Have you tried static address in the Mac?
What sort of broadband is this?? If there is a modem what sort? And what mode is the TC running in?
One of the strange things that can happen.. with IPv6 you can use TC bridged to a fibre connection..
But for ipv4 to work it must be set to DHCP and NAT in the network tab.

Can not print from my pc using time capsule's printer, but the mac in the office will. PC sees the network just not the printer connected to the capsule.

I can't get my pc to see the printer connected to the time capsule, it sees and connect to the network but will not see the printer. The mac in the office see both the network and the printer connected to the capsule.

Suggest that you check to make sure that you installed Bonjour Print Services for Windows v2.0.2 on the PC.
Run the program and hopefully it will find your printer so you can select it and click to get things going.

Time Capsule backup works but internet doesn't

I use my Time Capsule as my wireless router and while Time Machine seems to backup wirelessly just fine with my MacBook, as of yesterday the wireless router (Airport) portion of the device isn't working. I know my modem is fine because when I connect it directly to my MacBook, my internet service works. I'm just not getting the wireless internet signal through the Time Capsule/Airport device. When I check it with the Airport utility it tells me that my "wi-fi base station does not have a valid IP address. I have no idea how to fix this. The amber light on my Time Capsule is blinking.

Can you try to update me with more specific details. The only idea I can think of now, is for you to :
1) Open System Preferences>Network.
2) Click on Airport, go to TCP/IP.....check if there's any setting being set to Manual on the IP address part.
OR you can try doing this....
Shut down your mac.
Switch it on back......now quickly press the Apple Key + the "S" key. Hold it there, until a black screen is prompted. It will prompt you to type a command, in order for you to proceed to boot normally. Do that....after that another prompt....type "exit" without the inverted comma.
Try that....let me know if it works....

My Time Capsule stopped working suddenly. The led won't lit up even if I do a hard reset.

Suddenly I noticed that my Time Capsule stopped working. The led doesn't light up any more and there's no noticeable activity in it.
Is it possible to recover my backups?

Dead TC power supply syndrome is standard on all Gen1 and Gen2 TC.

As far as HD is concerned it will mostly be ok. Either fix or remove the TC hard drive and use in USB box, as mentioned.
If it is Gen3 there is a different problem.
Tell us the actual model number from the rubber base.

Time Capsule wont connect to the internet

I have a 17" macBook Pro 2.33 GHz
I have a 1t Time capsule
I have a netgear router
My internet connection works via ethernet. from comcast box to macbook pro
My internet connection works from comcast box to time capsule to MacBook pro via ethernet
I have called comcast and had them reset the box many times
I have left everything unplugged overnight
I have started the time capsule first and the comcast box first
I have reset all devices
I have all the latest software
on the time capsule after starting up it flashes green goes solid then flashes again
My comcast box is an Arris ( I know about the standby mode)
The only time I was able to get it to work was to go from my comcast box to a router then to the time capsule. It doesnt work anymore.
I have tried plugging it into the connection port, and ethernet port.
I have tried all the router ports.
I have run assistant, diagnostics, renewed my dchp(sp) lease

Ok, well, if the Time Capsule was working with the Netgear router then it was running in bridged mode, which you need to change when you take out the Netgear router. Do this:
1. Plug the ethernet cable from your Comcast box to the WAN port on your Time Capsule.
2. Plug an ethernet cable from a LAN port on your Time Capsule to your computer.
3. Run AirPort Utility, select your Time Capsule, and go to Manual Setup. Click on the Internet tab, and at the bottom change the Connection Sharing from Off (Bridge Mode) to Share a Public IP Address.
After doing this you will want to reset your Comcast box as well so that your Time Capsule can acquire the correct IP address.

It is however mostly just links some of them very old.
Reset the TC to factory and start again.. make sure you have ipv6 set to link local only on wireless at least .. as well as ethernet if you use it.
No luck do a fully manual setup..

In the airport utility bring up your Time Capsule.

So here is mine.
Click on the Edit button and give us the Internet and Wireless and Network tab..
eg.
Please also make sure you are set to ipv6 in your wireless or ethernet .. whichever is used.. and do tell which.
This is wifi in your computer.
The following are important..
DO not use long names with spaces and non-alphanumeric names.
Use short names, no spaces and pure alphanumeric.
eg TC name. TCgen5
Wireless name TCwifi
Use WPA2 Personal security with 10-20 character pure alphanumeric password.
read apple instructions to help with TM and TC.. they did finally admit it has issues in Mavericks.

If you migrated all the info from time machine to your new MBP. The TM will usually ask to connect to the old backups.. sorry I am not sure is this what you want to do.. Personally I think you start a fresh backup.
BTW Time Capsule does not do anything.. it is a dumb hard disk in a box.. it is TM that does everything.

Trying to hook up my time capsule. Plugged in the eithnet from the extreme over to the time capsule--then plugged in the time capsule--still in amber blinking light--went back to extreme and works fine--reset the cable modem in between but that did not f

Hoping someone can help with setting up my new time capsule. I am just switching from my extreme to the time capsule. I can not get the time capsule to go anywhere but to amber blinkiing. I can go back to the extreme and interenet works fine.
Here is what I did:
plugged in the ethernet cable from the cable modem
plugged in the time capsule power
Just cycles to amber blinking -- no internet connection
Tried pulling up the airport utility but it just shows my old extreme configuration and says that it is not supported anymore. Do not see how to display info on the flashing light.
I have gone back to the extreme three times and it seems to work fine.
I also repowered the modem in between trying to get the time capsule to work

Is this a cable modem? It has to be off for at least 20min and sometimes much longer before it will give up the old settings. You might even need to power down the cable modem overnight.
Tell us exactly what broadband you have with what ISP and exact model of modem..
The new TC cannot be setup without using the latest airport utility 6.3.1 or 6.3.2 and you need Lion - Mavericks to use it.
The computer also needs to have ipv6 setup to local link on whatever you are connecting with, wireless or ethernet.
