My time zone says denver, but im in phoenix?

Question. What setting should be used for the time zone?
If i leave it to set automatically it says denver, but im in phoenix?
Should i just set the time zonenmanually to phoenix?

Don't forget that if you make an appointment on your iPhone for after March 11 while it is set to Denver, the time will be wrong. I had set my phone to Phoenix time but when I went to NY last month I forgot to reset it to Phoenix. As a result, the time on all the appointments that I set there and since are wrong. I had to go in and change all of them to Mountain STANDARD time on the computer, and then let it resync to the phone.
From now on, when I fly, I am setting an alarm to go off on landing to remind me to turn Automatic Time Setting back off.

  • I-Phone not syncing correct time zone in ical, but computer time stays the same

Lately when I put in appointments in my calendar on my Iphone 4S either directly,or in my mac, the time zone drops back 3 hours in just the Iphone only. The correct time is still on my calendar in my mac.  I checked my Iphone settings to make sure that my time zone is correct, which is was.  We live 6 mos on the west coast and 6 mos on the east coast for many years and have not had this problem before. How can I fix this? Thanks in advance for any advice!

Check Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars > Time Zone Support = "Off" on your iPhoje.

  • Time machine says "success," but no backups

I noticed today that none of the backups on my Time Machine disk have any data in them. Just a bunch of empty "Macintosh HD" folders going back several months. Yikes!
I've been through a tech support session plus a few hours of troubleshooting on my own. Their suggestion is to reinstall the OS and restore my data from a backup... which is kind of impossible* since I can't get Time Machine to back up. Here's what I know:
    1) A new backup drive doesn't help
    2) My hard drive is not excluded
    3) I have plenty of space on my backup drive (2TB for a 500GB machine).
    4) It's a system-wide problem that shows up in both Safe Mode and with a new user account.
Time Machine basically looks at my drive and says, "Nope, nothing new to back up here. Move along now, move along..."
Here's the log from console. It starts immediately after launching Time Machine using a blank backup drive.

*Remember when I said I didn't have a backup? That's kind of a lie, since my Mac gets backed up to the server. But it's only the data files. I would really, really like to not have to reinstall all my applications and settings.
Does anyone have a suggestion about how to fix, or where to start looking? There must be a corrupt setting somewhere than can be fixed. If it comes down to it, yes, I can reinstall, but I kind of feel like giving this a shot.
    Any thoughts? I have an iMac 3.06GHz i3 w/ 16GB RAM running 10.9.2.

Fixed! I deleted the hidden file, /.Spotlight-V100, then rebooted my Mac. After that, Time Machine backups started working.

  • Daylight Savings Time and Time Zone Issue:

Howdy!  Many of us woke up this morning to be dismayed to find that our iPhone was TWO hours behind instead of falling back one for the Daylight Savings Time adjustment, and were late for church.  I have an iPhone 4S, with iOS 5...
I was working at that time of morning, and the initial switch went well.  However, when I woke up, the clock was yet another hour behind.  A little investigation showed that the Time zone had been changed to Denver (It was previously on Chicaco, and I live in Dallas.)  I tried to select it to change it, and it wouldn't allow me.  If I turned off the Set Automatically feature, then I could change it, but when I turned the Set Automatically feature back on, it would re-set the time zone to Denver.
I found another thread where they discuss this:
    https://discussions.apple.com/message/16644669
To fix this, put in airplane mode, then back out again, then re-choose your correct time zone.  If this doesn't work, then try turning your phone completely off and then on again.  Thanks to 4n6doc for the tip!
The airplane mode trick worked for me:  I turned airplane mode on, then off, then went to the Date & Time and set my time zone to Dallas, TX while the Set Automatically was off.  When I turned the Set Automatically back on, it changed Dallas to Chicago, which is what every iPhone iOS I've ever had has done.

    Hi,
Yes this is a correct way to fix the issue. One thing however, how did you set the timezone? For correct daylight saving handling, you'll have to use the long version, like America/New Yorw, NOT GMT-5 (for example).
    regards,
    ~ Simon

  • Why do some recurring appointments in my iphone/ipad re-schedule the appointment in outlook one hour earlier, even where the original meeting is set in outlook.  So if a meeting is at 4pm, the iphone/ipad says 4pm but knocks the outlook back to 3pm

Please help me.  This seems to be an on-going problem but it seems Apple are yet to have fixed it.
I use my outlook calendar and my iphone and ipad but a problem keeps occurring when I sync.
If I have a recurring appointment, say 4pm on a Monday and enter it into outlook.  When I later sync and re-sync either the iphone or ipad, it shows as 4pm in these devices but when you look back at outlook, the appointment has been re-sceduled to 3pm.  It only happens with recurring appointment but it seems not all.  It happens even when the initial calendar entry is put into outlook first.  I have switched off i-cloud.  Have tried changing the time-zone settings etc. but it is still happening.  I have literally wasted hours on this and it is now driving me mad! Especially as the problem has been recorded preveiously from others and the glitch has still not been sorted.  How can you expect the iphone/ipad to be taken seriously as a business tool when it has such a glitch?
There is also a similar problem with the iphone/ipad where the clocks go back and forward.
If someone techy from Apple happens to read my note, please please pease can you reply to let me know if a) there is a way round it, b) if not, when will it be fixed and c) if there is a way round it, please can you tell me exactly what settings I should have on my phone in terms of time-zones....
    Thank you

I have this same problem as well. Updates to recurring meetings reflect correctly on my desktop Outlook and through OWA, but my iPhone shows the original meeting time/date and the updated time/date.
My colleague has a Moto Q (Windows Mobile 6) and has the same problem....so, I'm guessing this is an Exchange Server problem.
I also found this thread with the problem on Windows Mobile:

  • Not sure I understand time zone support

Let's say I live in Paris, but I have appointments next week in Washington DC.  Can someone walk me through the settings I should use to make this work?  I will want to enter the correct time dor the Washington appointment even though I'm currently in Paris   I had time zone support "off," but when I made all my Paris appointments (while I was in DC), they're now 6 hours off.
    Thank you!

    Andrew,
you might be suffering from _*wireless interference*_.
perhaps one of your neighbor's wireless networks is interfering with yours. download iStumbler (free) or AirRadar (it has a trial period) and note the channels other networks in your vicinity are broadcasting on. *change the channel(s) of your network as far away as possible from those*.
note there may be hidden (closed) networks around that these apps won't pick up. however, KisMac will be able to. be aware, though, that in some countries the use of KisMac may not be legal !

  • Problems with auto-scale vertical charts when change time zones

I have built an application that utalizes Vertical Strip Charts.  Basiclly, XY Charts that are filled with 100 points of data each loop cycle.  To get the Time portion of it I use the Get Dat/Time in Seconds Function and then typecast it to a double.  I have built the application and installed in on several PC in my same time zone no problem, but when I send it to someone in the UK on GMT time the strip chart does not update correctly.  The scaling is off.  The interesting thing is the most recent time on the chart is correct and is updating correctly, but the time at the top of the graph is not correct.  Any suggestions or thoughts would be appreaciated.

Can you post a copy of this application, or an example that would demonstrate this? If you change your timezone on your computer to UK's timezone and restart LabVIEW (which is necessary for the change to take affect in LV), do you see this behavior?

  • Time issues? time zone settings appear in two places

If you leave the default "set time and date automatically", you see the time zone support below and you can check it or uncheck. You can then set your time zone there. But if you uncheck the automatic date and time, you get another time zone choice and the default is Cupertino, of course. I wonder if that's the problem with some of these time issues.
I've since unchecked automatic date and time, set my city's time zone, then rechecked automatic. The only weirdness I've seen was with an excel spreadsheet where the time was correctly shown on my mac, but not on the iphone. Unfortunately I don't have that sheet anymore or I'd try again to see if it works now.
    Just a thought.

I noticed the same thing and did the same thing you did because my time was off by several hours each time I turned the phone on...after it being off overnight. When it was off by only 1 hour I could turn the Auto OFF then 'tap' the timezone (already set to the correct city) and the time would instantly correct itself. Then I'd turn Auto back ON.
Turns out that my time issue was related to having the SIM PIN enabled. Once I disabled that, the time's been correct every day.

  • Extra time zone on iCloud cal

    Hey guys,
I do quite abit of cross continental scheduling.
When I switch time zones (say from Pacific time to Asia time), my calendar's times change.
Next to each time, ical shows other time zones, which is useful for scheduling. i.e. 5PM (8 AM GMT +8)
However, some times zones are in EST - i.e. 5PM (8AM EST), while some times are in Asia time. i.e. 5pm (8 AM GMT +8).
My desired secondary time (in the brackets) is Asia Time, which is GMT +8. Why are some of my times in EST, while some in GMT? How do I set it such that all are in GMT +8 (Asia) times?
    Thanks!

Have you tried changing the time zone in the System/Date & Time/ Time Zone preference pane on your Mac rather than online?

  • Whimsical Time Zone Problem

I've been noticing during the month I've had my iPhone that, while it keeps good time, often it'll show the time for the wrong time zone. For instance, today it showed the time as 2:40 pm. I panicked for a second thinking that I had forgotten to pick up my son from school. Then I realized it couldn't possibly be 2:40 pm. I've had this problem before, so it was easy to assume it was wrong this time, too. But I've seen it more than an hour off also. The minutes are always correct.
Anyway, once I plug my iPhone into my computer, the time zone syncs up again and it shows the correct time.
I always have my iPhone set on my correct city as far as Time Zone goes. But is there another setting I don't have set right, or is this a genuine bug, or what?

    You are using it correctly.
There are several issues with the iPhone which relate to the time zone and setting the time.
We are all hoping that Apple fixes these in the next software release (and hoping that is soon).

    Hi
Our client is sending some data with the message type ADRMS. It contains the valueof Time zone also.
But when we display the vendor through transaction XK03, it does not show the value of time zone in address view.
Could you all please help me that where we maintain the value of time zone in vendor master.

In vendor master in the Address view at street adreess you will find Time zone.just go to xk02 and if you still doesn't find then there you will find a More fields icon (a plus icon in a box).In it you will find it.it should be remembered that entry of country and region is must.
If you still doesnot find then go to spro@financial accounting@accounts receivable and payable@vendor accounts@master data@preparation of creating master dat@define account group with screen layout@here double click on the vendor account group and further double click on general data.Again double click on address and check whether Time zone is suppressed and if suppressed then make it optional.

In your /etc/rc.conf put in your correct timezone and add openntpd to your daemons array. Then start the service with /etc/rc.d/openntpd start
You should be all set after that.
