My timeline is not loading in Edge
Hello,
I'm having a quite big school-project in Edge. It has been getting slower and slower as the project got bigger. Everytime i get into a symbol it takes like 40 seconds and it will say "not responding" for most of that time.
Anyway, as Edge isn't optimal yet, I guess i'll have to live with that and just wait.
But now my timeline isn't even loading anymore in certain symbols. (see photo)
When I open the project on my classmates Macbook it doesn't have the problem. Also it's a lot less slow on the mac, even though our specs are pretty comparable.
Ive got a 500gb SSD, i7 processor and 8gb RAM, running on Windows 8.1.
Does anyone know why this is happening, and maybe even how to solve it?
Thanks in forward!
Martijn
PS.
I've got the latest version of Edge.
Videocard (Switchable, I use the AMD with edge): Intel HD Graphics 4000 and AMD Radeon HD 8800M.
The OS (Windows 8,1) is 64bit.

Web sites not loading on EDGE at my office
I've been using my iPhone 8 gig successfully to surf the web and the YouTube app on both Wi-Fi and EDGE (even though its slow) at home, at the gym, and at Starbucks. However, right now it's not working. We don't have wi-fi set up in our office, so I have to go through EDGE. Whenever I try to load a site I get the error "Safari can't open the page because it can't find the server." I have full bars and am able to make outbound calls and receive inbound calls. Any ideas?
I am having the same problem here, as well. I was able to load web pages and email earlier today (albeit seemingly slower than I was able to this weekend) and now, all of a sudden, it's not loading web pages, my weather and stocks widget or email. I am getting the same error message you mentioned. I have full signal strength, the little "E" up at the top and nothing. I've even tried turing off wifi and restarting the phone to force it to use EDGE as the default also with no luck.

Custom fonts not loading while Edge Animation inside an iFrame
Hi can someone help me with this strange problem? Custom fonts, specifically, Typekit fonts I used in my Edge Animate animation is not loading IE 11 when the animation is inside an iFrame. If you view the animation HTML directly on the browser, the fonts load perfectly fine.
Here is an example where the animation is inside an iFrame and part of a webpage where fonts are not loaded when using IE11.
http://www.pandaequipment.com/test/contact.html
and here is the HTML file directly where fonts and loaded fine in IE 11
http://www.pandaequipment.com/test/edgeanimate_assets/myhero/Assets/myhero.html
All the other browsers I tested don't have this problem.
Can someone tell me some ways to fix this in IE?Hi Keith,
I'm sorry that you ran into trouble with this. I also saw this issue when I tested your site in Chrome on OS X 10.9, although the fonts worked on reload because they were then cached in the browser.
I suspect the the issue is in the "src" attribute on the iframe:
iframe allowtransparency="true" frameborder="0" scrolling="no" src="edgeanimate_assets/myhero/Assets/myhero.html"
Would you try changing the src to a full path, and see if the fonts load into the iframe?
iframe allowtransparency="true" frameborder="0" scrolling="no" src="http://www.pandaequipment.com/test/edgeanimate_assets/myhero/Assets/myhero.html"
Background: Typekit gets the domain name from the browser referrer and uses it to check that the site matches the listing on your kit. This is one of the security layers to make sure someone can't steal your Typekit fonts and use them on their own site. When loading fonts into an iframe, the iframe referrer needs to match as well.
If the iframe referrer doesn't match or is blank, the behavior is browser-specific. Some browsers will use the referrer of the parent page and so the fonts load, while others don't apply the fonts at all.
Setting the iframe src to the full URL should ensure that a referrer is sent, and may fix this issue.
Please give that a try, and let me know how it goes! Thank you,

Why is my navbar not loading in edge animate 2014?
Just upgraded Edge animate to the new Adobe Edge animate 2014 but now my navigation won't load in preview browser.
As a Test:
Hold down the option (or alt) key and launch iPhoto. From the resulting menu select 'Create Library'
Import a few pics into this new, blank library. Is the Problem repeated there? -
Premiere CS4 will not load timelines
I have been working on a project will several sequences. Today when I load project to contine
working on them, the timeline will not load. I can view the sequence in the Program Monitor,
but when I double click it does not open the timeline at the bottom of the screen. It does nothing! HELP!!!I can view the sequence in the Program Monitor,
If you can view the sequence in the program monitor you probably have the timeline working but cant see it. have you changed your view settings where the timeline might be hidden from you ? Maybe try using "editing" view or "reset" your view to the default ?
maybe post a screenshot of what you are seeing when you open cs4... -
Load another Edge project with a symbol timeline trigger
I'm working on an E-book like project that basically every page is an Edge composition.
I make a symbol within a turn-page animation that will play on click.
And I have a timeline trigger in the symbol and I'm hoping there is a way to load another Edge project with that trigger.
Is there a way to do so?
Thanks.I put together a Composition that I think does what you're asking. it's not elegant, but it works.
in the timeline of Symbol_1
place stop() triggers at the start and end
in the same triggers, set a Symbol variable that states whether the animation has finished i.e. sym.setVariable("isDone", "false");
place a trigger on the rectangle to play() or playReverse() depending on an if() statement about the variable
in the timeline of Symbol_3
place stop() triggers at the start and end
in the same triggers, set a Symbol variable that states whether the animation has finished i.e. sym.setVariable("isDone2", "false");
place a trigger on the rectangle to:
declare 2 new variables, which use sym.getVariable() to get isDone and isDone2 as above,
play() or playReverse() depending on an if() else if() else if() statement about both variables
I used the relative string to get the local variable and absolute string to get the variable from the other Symbol, i.e.
var myVariable = sym.getComposition().getStage().getSymbol("Symbol_1").getVariable("isDone");
var myVariable2 = sym.getVariable("isDone2");
I can send you the entire code if that helps. -
Edge Animate .oam files taking a long time to load or not loading at all?
http://pierosalardi.businesscatalyst.com
Is there a way to correct this? I have exported this Muse Site and uploaded into my server and the same thing is happening: http://pierosalardi.com/animate/ Its taking to much time to load the .oam files and sometimes they do not load at all.
This is a screen shot after reseting Safari and going to the site. If you see, there is no logo on the up right hand corner, or the icons at the bottom of the page
This is another screenshot after reloading the site. Some how all the .oam files came together but only after reloading the site.
Is there a way to correct this? I saw in another post that needed to replace the iFrame on the Muse html file and replace it with the html code generated by Edge.
Couldn't get it to work.Hey Piero,
Love your site! I'm not seeing the loading issue, but I'm also on a fast connection so that might be it.
Took a look at the source - it looks like each button is it's own individual OAM file, which increases your load time due to the extra requests the browser has to make to load everything. Have you tried consolidating the left and right button groups into two Animate projects instead of having a seperate one for each button? This may solve your loading problems.
You can copy and paste between projects inside of Animate so aggregating the buttons into one file should be pretty snappy.

</html>Keith,
Make sure the Cluster configuration is right. When did you start seeing this problem?
Host A: Dispatcher->server 0, server 2
Host B: Dispatcher->server 0, server 2
i.e The instance IDs are mapped right.
Also try to hit the individual servers in the cluster the following way.
http://hostname1:50000/irj/portal;sapj2ee_irj=instance_id sends a request to server 0.
http://hostname2:51000/irj/portal;sapj2ee_irj=instance_id sends a request to server 1.
This may give more clues. Unfortunately I don't have access to EP6 SP2 to lookup and tell you the right parameters to look for.

For some reason FCPX kept hanging at "Restoring window layout", so I deleted the necessary files and got it past that problem. But now the timeline won't load and the splash screen continues. I can still interact with the program windo and click on thigs and play movies, but it won't update the UI to show I've made changes. This is all weird because it was working earlier this week. Please help!
Not sure what files you deleted. Do you mean you trashed your preference files?
If not, try that.
Unexplained faults like this can often be fixed by clearing out FCP X's preferences (for some reason, they get knotted up from time to time).
Download Digital Rebellion's Preference Manager (free, simple to use, and perfectly safe, both to download and use).
http://www.digitalrebellion.com/prefman/
With Preference Manager, you can backup the Prefs when FCP X (or any of the Apple Professional Applications) are working normally. Then when either of the applications are acting strangely, Trash the Preferences, then Restore from your backups (just a mouse-click).
If you trash the prefs and don't restore them, you will need to manually restore all your FCP X settings again, so it's a great idea to backup Preferences from time to time when FCP X is working well, then your backups are up to date.
Doesn't fix every problem, but it fixes a lot.

Please help me - I have been working on a Flash CS6 file for a while now, and just got the message "Could not load scene into memory. Your document may be damaged." The file is not big, all it contains is 3 layers - one embedded video FLV file and 2 layers on top that only contain brushstrokes. The file is on my external hard-drive and now I get the message when I open it on either of my computers. I read feedback that I should re-link or re-import my assets, so I re-made the FLV file and imported it to replace the old one that it said couldn't be found. The problem is the timeline is completely empty. Even once I import the new video, the timline only has one "layer 1" with only one blank keyframe. Where is the rest of my work? I am good with backing up but was just away for a week and got a lot of work done so I couldn't back it up until I was back home... and obviously that isn't happening now.
Please help if you have any idea where my work has disappeared to.Hi GregirArt,
Can you please check your PublishSettings.xml file whether is there any duplicate profile entries?
You can check the same by renaming your .fla to .zip and extract the zip file to open the PublishSettings.xml
If you find multiple duplicate profile entries then please remove all the duplicate entries from the file and rename the file back to .fla and see if that helps.
Thanks!

Clips not loading correctly in Timeline?
I am cutting back a long event. My Timeline currently runs over 3 hours.
Everything was working fine until I began to encountering a strange problem.
Whenever I drop a clip into the timeline it does not automatically show up in the timeline until I click down the Timeline. The clip then magically appears.
Clips also show up in the timeline without the first frame image displayed- instead it's a white box with an X through it.
Also- as I scroll the canvas the Timeline no longer scrolls along. In other words if I park my canvas scroll bar to another location on the project- my Timeline does not update itself to reflect this change in location. (It always did so before)
Could this be due to the fact that my Timeline is so long?
My hard drive still has plenty of space left (261gig).
Thanks.Yes....that timeline is too long to work with. When you are done and ready to output you can have the one timeline, but for just working and editing, make the timelines smaller. I generally break my timeline up into 10-30 min chunks, depending on what I am working on. I break them up by ACT for TV, or REEL for film, or just by subject matter or group of scenes if corporate or other. I work on them individually, then when I am done, I assemble the final timeline.
3 hours...oof. That is REALLY long.

Loading An Edge composition at a certain frame
What I would like to do is to load my Edge composition at a certain frame.
I would like to tell the Edge composition where to stop at, within my html file.
This because I need to load the comp at a different position in the timeline, depending on the html page where I need to place it.
I was able to start playing the comp
<script type="application/javascript">
var comp;
AdobeEdge.bootstrapCallback(function(compId) {
// "comp" is now equivalent to the Stage's "sym" variable.
comp = AdobeEdge.getComposition(compId).getStage();
comp.play();
</script>
but I would actually want to tell the comp to play at a label.. something like
comp.play("label");
but thats not working...
I am not very familiar with js since I come from After Effects, so it would be nice if someone could provide an example or point another discussion where this problem was solved.
ThanksYou will not be able to play from a label on stage timeline from bootstrap callback as the timeline playback has not started.
A workaround is to store the label name you wish to play from in a global variable in bootstrap call back function and using that label to play from in the 0th second trigger
I know the explanation above is bit confusing,so i have attached a example here.
IN main.html i save the label(red) to play from in
AdobeEdge.playFrom = "red";
Than in the 0th second trigger read that label and play from there like
sym.play(AdobeEdge.playFrom);

Hello,
I have multiple external compositions that I load in my Edge project, with the composition loader by Edge Commons.
I would like to connect these external compositions with swipeleft / right gestures.
When I give the containers (where the external compositions are loaded in) the swipe gestures, it
works perfectly. But when the external compositions are loaded, the swipe gestures on the containers doesn't work anymore.
So is it possible to give the external compositions the swipe gestures. And that when they are loaded in my Edge project, the external compositions can communicate with each other.
For Example:
External composition one is loaded and when I swipe to the left, external composition 2 will slide in from right to left.
I think it must be that the external compositions have a function to control the timeline in the Edge Project.
I hope that this is possible and can help me with the code. Or have another solution.
Thanks!I think I have the same or a similar issue.
I am using a modified version of Edge Commons - Extension Library for Edge Animate and Edge Reflow | EdgeDocks.com
to listen to touch swipe events in an external compositions.
var promise = EC.loadComposition("publish/comp_01.html", sym.getSymbol("content"));
promise.done(function(comp) {
var stage = comp.getStage();
// Listen for events dispatched by the external composition
stage.$("bg").swipeleft(function() {
EC.loadComposition("publish/comp_02.html", sym.getSymbol("content"));
stage.$("bg").swiperight(function() {
EC.loadComposition("publish/test1.html", sym.getSymbol("content"));
This works great for the composition loaded by this script, but the comp.getStage function does not pick up on swipe events on anything other than the .$("bg") in this composition.
For example I have 30 compositions each with a .$("bg") but only the one loaded by this script works with this script. I am looking for a way to universalize the event listener to work with every .$("bg") loaded into my main stage symbol.
Do you or does anyone else have a solution? -
[Regression] KDE4 does not load anymore after recent kernel update.
Hi,
I have updated my system to latest packages and now KDE4 does not load. i get a Blank Screen.
I can't reach virtual terminals(I tried ALT+F1 to F11, but no response)
Control + ALT + BACKSPACE does not work.
even magic SysRq key(Alt+SysRq+REISUB) has no effect.
So I had to hard reset my machine. somehow I managed to get logs.

Support Page not loading correctly to FTP host
I recently updated my muse and once i did that one of my supporting pages is not loading corectly now. I have 16 supporting pages and all others are working just fine. I have tried to upload on a different computer. created a new supporting page and moved all content over. reverted the site back to an older version i had saved and non are allowing this single supporting page to load correctly. www.medamilitaria.com supporting page Edge Weapons. I also created the new supporting page Edge Weapons 2 today and that is still not working
Hi
Seems the page is not exported properly to root location.
Please check if the page is exported to root or not, if not then try to export as html and then use any FTP client to move the exported html folder to your root overwriting the existing ones.
Thanks,
Sanjit
