  • Font in Menu Bar and Drop Down list way too small

I just tried PSE 10 and was very surprised to see that Adobe did not address the problem with the font size being way too small in the menu bar and drop down list.  I cannot possibly read the font - so the program is basically unusable.  I am using a new 17inch laptop.  Is it possible that after all the complaints Adobe didn't fix this problem in PSE 10?  Are they even working on it?  I love the program but unfortunately I am going to have to switch to something else because there is no way I can read the font and thus cannot use the program at all.  Very, very disappointing.  Hopefully they are working on a fix???

Photoshop CS5 Essential has preferences that offer users the opportunity to adjust menu bar background color as well as font size.  For example,
    "UI Font Size
If you find that Photoshop's interface text is a little too small for comfort, you can increase its size by changing the UI Font Size option to either Medium or Large. And no, this option isn't just for old folks with poor eye sight. Working on a very high resolution monitor can make Photoshop's interface text appear very small. Personally, I like to set my font size to Large which I find helps to avoid eye strain. You'll need to close and then re-open Photoshop for the change to take effect:
Change the font size to increase some of the text in Photoshop's interface.

  • Icons and toolbar text is way too small and hard to read (kind of fuzzy)

The toolbars (menu bars) at the top of the screen have letters and icons and symbols that are way too small to read. Also the background color options are limited. Light black on grey is hard to read. I have tried customizing all that I can. There used to be a thing in control panel called display, and we could pick all sorts of fonts and colors for all those toolbar strips. Where did that go? I am VERY FRUSTRATED!!

I've tried those, and have just decided to go back to 3.6. Firefox just seems to have too much input lately trying to tweak and adjust. Meanwhile, the later versions just end up looking worse and worse with each iteration. Icons too small, monochromatic tool bar, making icons harder to distinguish, and, worst of all, frequent crashes.
Perhaps some of these problems are because I'm using XP, but I've noticed many if not all of the appearance deficiencies with my laptop running Win7. Probably the most annoying thing about later versions, though, is the inability to set memory time for history. This alone is a deal breaker for me, and ultimately, as IE has gotten better, I may just go back there.

    Settings>General>Accessibility>Increase Contrast
    Settings>General>Accessibility>Bold Text
are some settings that may help.
There are other settings there ...they may not be to your liking but try them all anyways.
But that's about all you can do for now...except to voice your opinion to Apple here:

  • HT1750 The serial #  is way too small to read!!!!  Make it BIGGER!

The serial #  is way too small to read!!!!  Make it BIGGER!

You are talking to users like yourself, not Apple. Try here to talk to Apple. In the meantime, if you select About This Mac in the Apple menu and then select More Info, you'll find the serial number there too. And if that is too small you can copy it just as if you were using a word processor and then paste it into a text editor and make the font bigger.

  • Help Viewer Font Size Way Too Small

    Hello,
The font size of the adobe help viewer content is way too
small (it looks like a 4 pt or something). I can hardly read it at
all. Can someone please tell me how to enlarge it?
    Thanks a lot!
    Mike

    Hi Mike
I recall that earlier incarnations of the help viewer had a
zoom setting that would allow for this. Sadly, it seems to have
    disappeared and I'm unsure why.

    Hi,
Is there any particular application's interface that is coming up small or is it happening with all the products?

  • The print face is too small

When I print using the latest version the type face is too small.
    This happens on many sites.

File > Page Setup = '''Scale'''
That's the control for printed font size.

  • My printer is way too slow at times

    Hi there,
I just bought a new c6380 printer. Am very dissapointed because sometimes. . . not all the time. . . but way too often, when I try to print or copy it takes too much time "processing." My old printer didn't do this. Is this normal for this printer? I hope not. Is there something I can do to speed things up so I won't have to wait so often. My time is valuable to me.
    Thank you,
    Carole

If the time since the last print/copy job has been too long the printer will go through a head servicing routine before printing.  This is normal for the printer which has permanent printheads.  I do not know of any solution other than to print more often :-).

  • How do I make icons bigger? All icons are way too small for speedy use. no matter what I do they remain too small. Is there a way of getting them the same size as previous versions?

All icons, such as refresh page, back, forward, stop and home etc; are just too small for comfortable use. For now I am uninstalling Firefox 4 and going back to 3.x. even the zoom page icons are too small.

"I had read that GarageBand or the Musical Typing there can sometimes not display properly when the resolution is changed."
Well, did you checked GB after you changed your resolution?
Which setting did you change to?
You & I have the same size iMac screen. My resolution setting is 1280x800. Everything fits perfectly in the windows & on desktop including the menu bar.
All info in my windows are showing. I did not need to adjust my browser font size settings. I am sure you are aware of the browser font size settings. I use FF & the settings are in Preferences>Content.
In the Finder window you can enlarge the icons & fonts also.
    Finder>View>Show View Options.

  • Prints mapquest directions way too small, not like in prior versions.

mapquest directions are printed very small, which did not happen on earlier versions of firefox.

Hard Reset – While printer is powered ON, pull
the power cord from the printer then from the
wall. After 30 seconds reconnect power to
wall and printer. This will trigger a ‘dirty power
up’ and restore the printer to a known good
condition (if it is possible). No user settings
are lost with a ‘hard reset’.
This ‘Hard Reset’ is one of the most powerful
tools to use when the printer hardware is not
    functioning properly!
if not resolved, While printer is powered ON, pull
the power cord from the printer then from the
wall. on the printer control panel press & hold Help key & Down Arrow ...while holding both keys down reconnect power to
wall and printer. It will trigger a partial reset.
if not fixed...printer may have a hardware failure.

  • Printer output incorrect/too small after upgrading to VS 2010 Crystal

I have a Windows Form application that was originally written using .net 3.5 and the version of Crystal Reports that came with Visual Studio 2008. When the VS 2010 release of Crystal Reports came out, I upgraded the application to .net 4/VS 2010 and the new Crystal release.
This application prints checks on blank check stock, so alignment of the output has to be very exact to print the checks correctly. It prints the reports using the PrintToPrinter() method of the ReportDocument class.
In the original version of the program, I had everything aligned correctly in the check report. After updating the application to the latest Crystal release, but making no changes to the report itself, I noticed that the alignment of the checks report was incorrect.
After comparing the output, I was able to determine that the new output is slightly shrunk compared to old output, almost as if it is scaling the report in some way.
I opened the report in the new report designer and verified that all page size and margin settings were correct/the same as before, and they were. The printed output is smaller than it should be based on how the report is designed. I tried adjusted the paper size, and also tried the "Dissociate Formatting Page Size and Printer Paper Size" to see if I could somehow adjust for the scaling, but nothing I tried was successful.
Our check printer is a HP LaserJet 5Si. During my investigation into the problem I discovered that if I printed the report to a pdf printer (PDFCreator) the resulting pdf did not have the same scaling/shrinking problem that I get when the report is sent directly to the LaserJet. I also printed a page from the pdf to the LaserJet using Acrobat Reader, and the output was as I expected it to be.
I only seem to be seeing the scaling/shrinking problem when I send the report directly to the LaserJet. Is there some new setting that I'm overlooking that would be applying some sort of report-wide scaling? Any other ideas as to why this is happening?

Looking for HP LaserJet 5Si at the HP website:

I notice that there are several different types (hm, mx, nx, ...). Also, there are different drivers, depending on the OS.
Ensure that you are using the correct driver (hm, mx, nx, ...) for your printer and for your OS and that the driver has the latest updates from HP.

  • Print font size too small

When printing in Safari, the print size is tiny, both in email and web sites, smaller than it appears on screen. When using Internet explorer or Firefox it prints the right size. If I go to Safari edit, preferences, then appearance, and raise font size, it will print larger, but all font sizes on web pages are way big. How can I just increase the print font size. My IP is Comcast. OS is Win XP sp3.

It should print the same size. Click View -> "Make text bigger" before printing.

  • Thunderbird **Main Screen** Font is WAY TOO small - and there are no provisions to change that text size!

I see lots and lots of complaints but NO suitable answer! Most answers don't even answer the question but instead tell how to increase MESSAGE font size - not the main screen "message list". Suggestions to change screen resolution are common but are ludicrous. One would have to change resolution every time they went in or out of Thunderbird! CTRL+ is also suggested but does not work on the message list. Creating and inserting CSS into the profile is a ridiculous suggestion for most users. And changing advanced settings is only an option for a guru - from my experience less than 10% of the folks I know would even look at the advanced settings - and less than 10% of those few would actually attempt such changes. This has been an ongoing complaint for a looong time.
It's time someone stepped up to the plate and provided a reasonable method of changing the size of the text on this screen.
Or do you want to limit you users to only programmer types?

I have recently made the switch in the last week to Thunderbird from Apple Mail. I have been a Firefox user for many years. Near enough from the beginning. So far I am impressed with Thunderbird but it is lacking something that I don't get with Firefox. Font size is a big issue for me too and it's straining my already short sighted and possibly making (damaging) my eyesight more by using Thunderbird.
Though I agree with everything you are saying. I am one of those users who would prefer to change things within thunderbird itself rather than go and install another third party addon. I by no means am a guru but I have a fairly good understanding of things and would like to learn more about the about:config side of things treading carefully. I have tweaked things in Firefox this way. and disabled some items for security reasons. I am having difficulty finding info within the Mozilla site on this side of things and have yet to go down the search engine route for research into this.
I would like to change not only the main message list as you suggest but also the From, Subject, Reply To, To and Route content along with the Reply, Forward, Archive btns along with any other content etc, above the main message content. As well as my folders.
I feel Thunderbird is lacking accessibility features for those with bad vision or using smaller screen sizes. What I would like is a + and - with percentage btn like in Firefox that zooms in and out the complete page in a more responsive web like way. This would greatly improve things for many users. I'm sorry Mozilla but being able to zoom in and out with a keyboard shortcut in the main message content is not good enough.

  • The printer prints the fonts too small when I try to print a page off the Internet.

My new printer is the Photosmart D110a. It is printing documents from Microsoft word but when I try to print a document from an Internet site, the font is so small I cannot read it. How can I adjust the printer settings so the font size is a 12? I  do not think I have the wireless stuff set up correctly but I don't need to do any cloud printing or things like that. I would appreciate any help you can give me.

OK, well, when you print, use File > Print or Control-P on the resulting window click on Preferences, then on the Effects tab.  See if you are printing in Acutal Size, like this:
