My Toshiba Laptop says media failed
Hello,
I have a satellite laptop. I tried to reset it, I think I did. It was going to slow and I decided to delete everything off. I then returned to turn it on and it turns on to the "Toshiba Leading Innovation" then says all these words over and over. Something about media failed. or something. I can't call the Toshiba people . Anything I can do? I really need help.
Hi! Your post is very confusing. When you say you deleted every thing and reset is not familiar to me. I think you may need to go back to factory. If you need help going back to factory, someone can help you. Just because your PC seems to be slow is not a reason to start deleting. If you really want help and are serious, I will try to help, but you must be more specific.

I try to download a PC and apparently I press the bootable device and thought it would give me the PC. So I don't know to get my toshiba laptop back to normal as usual it was.
turn off laptop and keep tapping f12 at start up and select hdd to boot, or select HDD from that screen if it will let you Let us know!

I have set up iTunes Match on only 3 devices (my Windows 7 desktop and 2 iPhones) and am now trying to authorise my new Windows 8 (Toshiba) laptop but I keep failing to authorise the laptop using my one-and-only Apple ID. Does anyone have advice to solve this problem?!
Hi all. I can’t tell you how to solve your iCloud 3.x issues. Heck, I don’t think they’re even solvable.
But if you had a previous version of iCloud that was working correctly then I can definitely tell you how to solve the “iCloud Photo Stream is not syncing correctly to my Windows 7 PC” problem. …without even a re-boot.
Log out of iCloud 3.0 and uninstall it.
Open My Computer and then open your C:\ drive. Go to Tools/Folder Options and click on the View tab. Select the “Show hidden…” radio button and click on OK.
Open the Users folder.
Open your user folder
Open ProgramData (previously hidden folder)
Open the Apple folder – not the Apple Computer folder.
Open the Installer Cache folder
In Details view sort on Name
Open the folder for the newest entry for iCloud Control Panel 2.x – probably 2.1.2.8 dated 4/25/2013
Right click on iCloud64.msi and select Install.
When finished, the synching between iCloud and your PC will be back to working perfectly as before the 3.0 fiasco. The pictures will be synched to the same Photostream folder as before the “upgrade”. Now all you need to do is wait until Apple/Microsoft get this thing fixed and working before you try the 3.x upgrade again.
I think the iCloud 3.0 software was written by the same folks who wrote healthcare.gov with the main difference being that healthcare.gov might eventually be made to work.
For those of you who hate to go backwards, think of it as attacking to the rear. Which would you rather have, the frustration of no synching or everything working on an older version?

I just bought a new toshiba laptop and I am trying to download the pictures off of my iphone 4s on to my laptop. The laptop keeps trying to download the pictures and it stops part way through and says "No files to download" meaning that I have to pictures on my iphone, which is not true because there are about 600 picture that i wanted to put onto the computer.. How to i get those pictures off of my iphone and on to my laptop?
Pics synced to your iphone from your computer are one way- computer to iphone.
If these are the pics to which you are referring then copy them from your old computer or your backup copy of your computer, to your new one. -
Help required with Photoshop Elements 4.0 this has been installed on my new Toshiba laptop with windows 8.1 for some 18 months and operating well. Now it will not open, message pops up saying “attempt to access invalid address” then “application not responding” Suggestions how to access would be much appreciated. Tks. Stuart
What is the size of your hard disk? PSE 4 is a very old program and I suspect it is not able to access the entire hard disk on your machine. Just a thought here.

Trying to instll iCloud on a new Toshiba laptop so I can sync contacts, calendars, email with my iPhone and iPad. Get error message HRRESULT:OX8007OBC9, says installer encountered errors before iCloud Control Panel 2.0 could be configured. Have the same problem trying to istall iTunes.

If you want, you could also use Hiren's BootCD to make a bootable CD with many options and programs on it (I keep one, just for certain situations) that will allow you to do the same things.

IPOD not recognized/copying to disc failed: Toshiba Laptop USB the issue!
Just got my IPOD back from servicing (needed new battery). While syncing, every 20 or 30 songs a message appeared: Attempting to copy to the disk failed...
I kept trying, but eventually Itunes (and Windows) wouldn't even recognize the IPOD (even the IPOD gave up...would flash the "do not disconnect" for a few seconds then immediately default back to default mode (menus, etc.) I could not restore.
My symptoms seemed to be similar to lots of other problems I saw in the discussion boards. THEN...I somehow linked to this file:

I had to use my Toshiba laptop's Device Manager to disable the "enhanced" speed USB port. Presto! Immediately the IPOD was recognized and updated FULLY (albeit at very slow speed). (2 hours for 850 tunes). What I don't understand is why this suddenly started to happen? HOPE THIS HELPS SOMEONE !

i am running the toshiba create recovey media on my satllite pro c660-21d as my first job
it askes for 2 dvd disks
using brand new disks it failed with
failed to open e\boot\bcd

i am trying another disk but if that fails what next?

The replacement disk was created without error so must have been a media failure
but hope this helps someone else

I'm trying to print to an Advent AW10 printer from an Imac running Yosemite 10.10.1 and it's been driving me nuts for the last two months...
I got on to Advent yesterday and recieved this instruction from their support team this morning and it worked and I'm now printing away merrily:
Please follow below steps:
In Spotlight search window type Terminal and then press Enter.
This should bring up the terminal window/program.
In the Terminal type:
sudo sh -c 'echo "Sandboxing Relaxed" >> /etc/cups/cups-files.conf' then press Enter.
It will ask for your password. Please enter system password.(You will not see password entering)
After that type following:
sudo launchctl stop org.cups.cupsd then press Enter.
Try Printing.
I don't think this is specific to Advent and is rather simply an 'opening up' of something blocking the 'printer channels' (layman's terms obviously)

I have just had my Toshiba laptop hard drive replaced. This has resulted in all previous content held on the laptop to be lost. I wanted to try and transfer my music library from my ipad to the laptop, but it will not allow me to do so. The message is that the ipad is linked to another computer and it will only allow the transfer of the items purchased on through the ipad and nothing else. Does anyone know if the full library can be transferred back to the computer?
You need to transfer the iTunes Library from the most recent backup you made before the hard drive was replaced.
You can't transfer the full iTunes Library from the iPad back to iTunes.
There are third-party Windows applications that will transfer data from an iOS device, but they don't re-create the iTunes Library exactly as it was before. -

This is a known problem, but we don't have a solution for it. If your device has the Toshiba Market app, you might be able to download a (possibly outdated) version of Firefox from there.

Satellite C855-1TD starts with message "Checking media [Fail]"
Okay, My Toshiba laptop has suddenly refused to work and will not start up. When it loads past the initial toshiba loading screen, a black screen appears saying "Checking media [fail]" I've tried everything that I have seen online that does not include opening up my laptop. It does not let me acess the Bios and I have tried every combination available.
My laptop is a Toshiba Satellite C855-1TD and runs on windows 8.1 software.

Usually you should be able to access the BIOS pressing the F2 button while booting up the unit.
I cannot say for sure but it looks to me like serious hardware malfunction if you are not able to access the BIOS.
Such serious hardware problem might be related to motherboard problems as well as RAM modules.
In case you are able to access the BIOS, check if the HDD is still visible on the first BIOS page.
If HDD isnt visible, then the notebook cannot find a proper bootable device and therefore the error Checking media fail appears.
