My Toshiba Will Not Reset. Gets To 36% and freezes

Hi Guys,
Right i've encountered a major problem, i needed to reset my laptop to its factory settings, so therefor i followed out procedures as normal, it started resetting, but when it got to 36% it just stopped froze and shut dwn the laptop. Is anyone able to help me on this situation, as i am in major need of my laptop.
Thanks Sam.

Hello Sam
Sorry but how to help? You didnt write which notebook model you have? How you make recovery installation? Do you use recovery DVD or you have started HDD recovery installation?
I would like to have possibility and read your minds but unfortunately it doesnt work. ;) Just a joke!
If you use recovery DVD I see two reasons there: either is recovery DVD damaged and some DVD data cannot be read properly or the HDD has some problem.

  • Time capsule will not complete initial back up and freezes

My Time Machine says back up has completed say '342.43GB of 342.43GB a few seconds remaining'  and just stay on that, which never completes the back up because it has no record of it being backed up. I have 2 Macbooks a 3 year old Black Macbook, and a 2011 Macbook Pro, I've never had a problem in the past backing both up
    Please help?!
    Regards
    Clint

Give it a good long time to complete.  But if it doesn't, cancel the backup (if it won't cancel after a few minues, see #D6 in Time Machine - Troubleshooting).
There may be a directory problem on the Mac. Verify it's internal HD, per #6 in Using Disk Utility.
Connect to the TC via Ethernet cable if at all possible.  It's 2-3 times faster, and more reliable, than even a good WIFI connection.
If you've done this several times, delete the sparse bundle for that Mac, per #Q5 in Using Time Machine with a Time Capsule.
    Then try the backup again.

  • D110 will not reset content level of refilled black HP60 cartridge

Had an HP60  black cartridge refilled, at Costco, D110 will not reset ink content level and therefore will not print.
Tried several, supposed, solutions on web, including one on HP support site, low ink level will not reset.
Is there anyway to reset the printer so one is able to utilize refilled cartridges or is this an exzmple of a manufacturer ensuring new cartridges have to be purchased from them?
Printer is wirelessly connected to an IMac running Lion (OS X10.7.2)

    Solved the problem!
I purchased a Samsung ML-1865W monochrome laser, wireless printer from Office Depot for $49.99.
Starter toner cartridge good for 700 pages.
Setup took 10 minutes, including wireless network configuration.
Sorry HP you want to play games you have to be prepared to lose.

  • Ipod 4g 32G not turning on, not charging (on multiple cords, both comp and wall, 4 20min), not being detected by Itunes or Windows 7 64bit OS, will not reset, tried taking it out of "DFU", NO DMG, Itunes up2date, All I'm getting is a blank black scrn

Ipod Touch 4th generation 32G not turning on, not charging.
I have used multiple cords on both computer USB and wall USB converters. I let it sit there for over 20 min with each attempt.
It is not being detected by Itunes or my Windows 7 64bit OS. I have tried all 4 of my USB ports (both USB 2.0 and 3.0), with 3 different chargers.
Holding home and power button will not reset.
Tried taking it out of "DFU" mode but Itunes won't detect it, I didn't think that would work anyway.
NO DAMAGE, I have been very careful with it, aside from a few minor scratches. (that you can't even see unless the light reflects them)
My Itunes is up to date, as is my OS.
All I'm getting is a blank black screen. It has been working fine on this computer before. I have no idea what could have happened. I'm at my wits end here.

    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.

The wish list only works on apps you have to pay for. To get it tap the icon of the app you want to save. After it opens at the upper right corner is a box with a arrow. Tap that then tap add to wish list list in the box that opens.

  • ODBC connection to Oracle 7 will not reset

We are using Oracle JDBC drivers for all but one of our
datasources which is an old Oracle 7 database. The ODBC connection
to this database will not reset when the database is bounced or the
database server is rebooted. We have to restart the ODBC service to
reset the connection. Is there another way to do this automatically
or perhaps another driver out there we can use? We are running
    ColdFusion MX 6.1 Enterprise.

Wow, I can't believe that you are still using Oracle 7. In
fact, unless you are on 7.3.4 you aren’t even Y2K compliant.
Of course, I'm not even sure if there is an upgrade path from 7.x
to 10g, but I would consider migrating off of 7 to anything else.
Otherwise, you are going to have more and more compatibility
problems. In fact, you can no longer even get ODBC drivers from
Oracle for versions older than 9i.
    Good luck.

I just got it fixed almost year ago when this exact thing happened, and i the warrenty is done. so someone please reply this with the solution. i don't feel like buying a new ipod, i rather just pay 70 dollars to send it in and get it fixed.

You'll need to connect the device to his iTunes library in recovery mode and restore it to factory settings.  See this article for instructions on getting the device into recovery mode.

  • Ipad 2 locked up when updating iOS 8.1.3 today and will not reset or even turn off

went to update iPad 2 from iOS 8.1.2 to 8.1.3 and it froze while updating.  Then error it could not update because of problem.  But it is locked on screen with cord to iTunes and will not reset or turn off.  Can't get to screen to do reset in iTunes or anything.  help

Please tell me that it has NEVER been jailbroke.  If it has never been jailbroke, here are some standard repair procedures:
First, try a system reset.  It cures many ills and it's quick, easy and harmless...
Hold down the on/off switch and the Home button simultaneously until you see the Apple logo.  Ignore the "Slide to power off" text if it appears.  You will not lose any apps, data, music, movies, settings, etc.
If the Reset doesn't work, try a Restore.  Note that it's nowhere near as quick as a Reset.  It could take well over an hour!  Connect via cable to the computer that you use for sync.  From iTunes, select the iPad/iPod and then select the Summary tab.  Follow the on-screen directions for Restore and be sure to say "yes" to the backup.  You will be warned that all data (apps, music, movies, etc.) will be erased but, as the Restore finishes, you will be asked if you wish the contents of the backup to be copied to the iPad/iPod.  Again, say "yes."
At the end of the basic Restore, you will be asked if you wish to sync the iPad/iPod.  As before, say "yes."  Note that that sync selection will disappear and the Restore will end if you do not respond within a reasonable time.  If that happens, only the apps that are part of the IOS will appear on your device.  Corrective action is simple -  choose manual "Sync" from the bottom right of iTunes.
If you're unable to do the Restore (or it doesn't help), go into Recovery Mode per the instructions here.  You WILL lose all of your data (game scores, etc,) but, for the most part, you can redownload apps and music without being charged again.  Also, read this.

  • My ipod touch will not reset and I can't restore in iTunes since it won't allow me to access wth a passcode on the ipod.

My iPod touch will not reset.  I have tried to the sleep/wake and home buttons simultaneously, but after the apple appears it goes back to a screen that shows the spiralling wheel that moves around 5 times, stops for a second and then repeats this cycle over and over.  I tried to restore through iTunes, but I get an error message that says that I need to enter the passcode on the iPod which is impossible since it won't stop the wheel.  Any ideas?

Place the iPod in Recovery Mode and then connect to your computer and restore via iTunes. The iPod will be erased.
iOS: Wrong passcode results in red disabled screen
If recovery mode does not work try DFU mode.

  • My ipod will not reset after several attempts

I recently bought a new Iphone and have successfully transferred my apps/data from my Ipod Touch (4th generation). I am now trying to "erase all content and Settings" via the settings button. All I get when the screen goes black is the apple logo. NO progress bar whatsoever. I have tried this several times even leaving the device (plugged into a power source) on all night long and still nothing. It simply will not reset. Is there something else I need to do? I have deleted all apps and anything else from the Ipod in hopes that would work but still nothing. It just locks up in the reset mode. Then when I restore it to stop the process most of the deleted apps come back. HELP!!
P.S. There is no Apple store nearby to help me with this so I'm hoping this forum will.

Make sure it's plugged into power for at least 5 minutes, then try holding down the top power button and home button for 15-30 seconds.   You may get it to reboot.

  • HT1386 I backup my boss iphone to my pc, i copy the backup file to his PC, can he restore the backup to his iphone using his pc and will not reset his iphone.  Thanks so much

    Hi,
I backup my boss iphone to my pc, i copy the backup file to his PC, can he restore the backup to his iphone using his pc and will not reset his iphone.  Thanks so much

Put the device in DFU mode and restore.
When he gets back to the computer that he normally syncs with, he can restore from his backup.  Everything since that last backup will be lost.
Start apologizing now... keep it up for a few months to several years.
Then hopefully you will learn to leave other peoples stuff alone.
