My ToshibaThrive cannot open the Adobe Digital Reader file or three books I purchased.  What do I do

I downloaded the Adobe Digital Reader and three books I purchased and my Toshiba Thrive cannot open the files.  What do I do next?

Hey jlcreads2,
Are the three ebooks that you have purchased in PDF format ? If not, then Adobe Reader will not be able to open them. If those are PDF files, then Adobe Reader should definitely open them and we would like to help you make it work. Let us know.

  • Cannot open the adobe reader app

Cannot open the adobe reader app. Need help.

Restart the iPad and see if the app will open. Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
If that doesn't work, reboot the iPaf and try again. Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.
If that fails, Delete the app and reinstall it. Hold down on the app icon until it wiggles, then tap the X on the icon to delete the app. Tap the home button to stop the other app icons from wiggling. Then go back to the app store and download the app again.

  • Cannot open the Adobe Website

I recently attended an online class that used Adobe Connect. This time Connect had me download some files. Now I cannot open the Adobe website. My browser locks up every time I try to go there. I am running Windows XP with Office 2007 and IE 7.0. I also Have Acrobat 8.2, FrameMaker 7.2 and 8,
flash player 9.0, Captivate 2.2 and several othe adobe programs. Can anyone clue me in as to what might the problem be?

Can you share some of those URLs from your carrier?

  • Error: Sorry, your account cannot access the Adobe Digital Publishing Suite

A few days ago I ordered Creative Cloud account. Since that when I try to log in into Folio Producer I receive this message:
Sorry, your account cannot access the Adobe Digital Publishing Suite. Please contact Customer Support for help.
At the same time I do can log in into Folio Builder in my InDesign CS6 and even add folios. Might be this error by someway linked to that I had in the past DPS Pro account?
    Thank you in advance.

This issue does not have solution. I came up to DPS developing team, anyone does not want to fix manually each account and they do not have an automatic solution.

  • Why can't I open the adobe digital editions installer?

I've downloaded the installer, but when I click to run it, it won't open.  I click and nothing happens.

    oneexwidow,
Thank you so much!!!  I tried what you said, and it worked perfectly!  I can't believe you found the answer and Adobe tech support doesn't know about this!  I think they should be aware of this issue.  I remember that file-blocking "feature" being there when looking at file properties before, but I'd forgotten about it and never thought to look there.  I've downloaded maybe hundreds of files and I don't remember having this problem before.  I knew *something* was blocking the file from running though, and I never really bought that it wasn't Vista compatible.  After all, this is the latest version and Vista is old now, since Windows 7 and now 8 have come out.  And as I mentioned, I tried it on my mom's XP computer, and it didn't run on hers either.   I'm not sure when Microsoft introduced the security feature shown above.  I hope that everyone who has this problem can find this thread so they know what to do as well.  I think Adobe should put this on the download page so everyone can see it if they have problems.
    Thanks again for sharing!

  • I cannot open the today, yesterday, last 7 days etc., in history. What can I do?

They have opened before, I THINK.... I usually have Firefox & Safari both open at once.

If you do not see those entries then that means that the history was deleted.
This can also be a problem with the file places.sqlite that stores the bookmarks and the history.

  • I cannot open the installer at all, why is this happening?

I cannot open the adobe installer at all, after trying many many times, why is this happening?

this is from jeff wright:  If you are having problems installing the applications from the Adobe Application Manager please try downloading and installing the trial.  When it asks you to sign in please enter the Adobe ID related to your Creative Cloud membership.  This will work for all applications except Acrobat.  For Acrobat you will need to first run another one of the Creative applications using your Creative Cloud Adobe ID after Acrobat is installed.  It should then remove the trial restrictions.

  • How do I read an ebook on kobo with adobe digital reader?

I have installed Adobe Digital Reader on my pc. I am using windows 8.1. I am trying to read an eBook on kobo but it is not opening the Adobe Digital software that I have downloaded?

Books purchased via the iTunes bookstore are encumbered with Apple's DRM.
Apple don't make a reader application for DRM'd .epub books that runs on a Mac (or a PC either).
They are meant to be read on an iOS device, as should be clear from the terms and conditions.

  • Publishing eBook for Adobe Digital Reader

Can anyone tell me how I can offer eBooks in the Adobe Digital Reader format to my customers? I can currently create a PDF and sell that content-protected through my small publisher ecommerce set-up but I want the eBook to be sold to be read by Adobe Digital Reader. I keep hitting brickwalls when trying to find a way of publishing and selling my eBook for Adobe Digital Reader. Is this currently only available for large compnaies who can buy Adobe Content Server or is there a way I can buy a small package to publish things in ADR format? Or am I trying to make it too complicated and can a PDF be converted to be offered in ADR format? Please help. Adobe is full of information to consumers of ADR but there seems to be no information for people wanting to publish and offer eBooks in ADR. Thanks

I would also like an answer to this question. I spoke with the people at Lightning Source and while they are happy to work with publishers who offer their ebooks in Adobe Digital format, I don't believe they can help authors convert their files to that format. There seems to be a real disconnect in the industry where we publishers of ebooks would like to offer this additional format and yet we're not guided as to how to do so.
While I'm doing well publishing ebooks and short reports in traditional pdf file format I'd really love to be able to offer my customers additional choices for file formats.

  • Error downloading Adobe Digital Reader . . .

I'm trying to download the Adobe  Digital Reader, and I get the message; "The downloaded installer has an invaled signature".
    Any suggestions?

You probably need to install a separate program capable of reading ebooks.
Bluefire is good, generally available, free, and supports Adobe DRM books.
You may need to get the books onto ADE on a computer, then copy them to the tablet using a file manager such as Windows Explorer.
Make sure ADE on the computer and Bluefire on the tablet are registered with the same Adobe ID.
Anoter free app is Overdrive app, which will allow you to borrow, download and read DRM library books on a tablet with no PC needed at all.

I recently loaded OSX mavericks on my Imac. I now find I cannot open any Adobe products from CS5. The error message reads " to open Adobe illustrator CS5.app, you need to install a JAva SE 6 runtime. Would you like to check and install one? I try to install but get the error" download error". As far as i know I'm using Adobe Java 7. None of my CS5 suite works anymore............and i really dont want to upgrade to a monthly cloud service fee as i hate this policy with a passion.

This goes for Dreamweaver CC on Mavericks!!!!! THANK YOU!
I couldn't launch Dreamweaver CC. An error told me to install "java se 6 runtime". But when I clicked  OK I got another error telling me there is a network problem! I found this forum post on CS6 products, so I tried the download link, installed java 6 and presto, it worked! Thanks!

    Mac HD/Applications
    Trash the Adobe Reader app
    [user]/Library/Preferences
    Trash the com.adobe.Reader.plist file

Quit your browser and reinstall Reader.
Launch it from the Applications folder and accept the license agreement.
You should have no problems downloading PDFs with Safari.
Unfortunately, ANY PDF that says it's damaged.... is. You'll have to trash them.

"A 3D data parsing error has occurred"
By any chance have someone help me with this issue?  Thanks!

thanks Jono But I cannot see any option to set Target Version.
the options I have are XDP Preview format and PDF Render Format which are set to Acrobat 7 static PDF form.
I have set a permissions password on the form using Acrobat 8 and under Password security settings , I have set the compatibility as Acrobat 5.0 or later. However, When I look at the form properties by opening the same form in LiveCycle, the compatibility still shows Acrobat 8 static PDF form.
How do I get this form to be opened by users in Adobe 7?
    Appreciate your quick response.
